"Photo Uploads Paused"

"Photo Uploads Paused", and the one photo I had uploaded deleted - literally minutes after paying my money for a subscription! Possibly related to my using a VPN? (As many people sensibly do these days.) Unknown. They wouldn't tell me - but they were happy to take my money and then cripple my service.

Useless and very underhanded.

Edit: An update: they did eventually respond and told me that my photograph had been flagged as it was "too professional" (it wasn't in the slightest), and therefore I would need to "verify my identity". Sorry, but making such demands AFTER having signed up and paid my money is unacceptable, especially given that no sensible person should be giving any company any more personal data than necessary, given that companies will either be hacked at some point, or are simply selling customer data for profit. Dreadful.

Don't be deceived.

Don't be deceived...just because this is The Telegraph dating site you will not find your usual demographic of a Telegraph reader.

Ok well you might be open to people from all walks of life but really, are you prepared to travel hundreds of miles to meet "the one" because the disribution of potential dates is possibly not as you would wish.

I am a 58 year old women looking for a man aged 55 -65 in Birmingham. The sites search engine throws up 100's but if you break it down; no picture - no likey, recently using the site, accurate milage - its actually 12!

One final point, if you do still feel that the one for you is located within the bowels of this site, feel free to join..BUT whatever you do remember to cancel your subscription as otherwise joining Telegraph dating really will break your heart!

It’s good!…

I have met six lovely women in the first year, each of whom is exactly as her profile. I think the Telegraph dating system works well and IS well curated.

Annoying and misleading.

I keep getting articles that feel more like propoganda than news and with really misleading heading. Half the time I can't read the whole article if I subscribe and the times that I get to read it is so biased and even when I try to block they keep coming up. Can someone advise me how to get rid of this garbage on my timeline.

Appalling

Appalling. Keep well clear. While the Telegraph newspaper is entirely reputable, their online dating service is entirely disreputable.

Attempted to sign-up for three months subscription of £24pcm on September 27th, paid via PayPal. But, they took an immediate payment of £72.

I immediately contacted them through the App, cancelling my subscription. Astoundingly, they responded offering to refund the 2nd & 3rd month's payments (which should amount to £48) but, being disreputable, they would only refund a few pounds. Also, wanting to keep my first month's payment, refusing to recognise my legal right to cancel.

The matter is now going to the Financial Services regulator and the Ombudsman services.

Attempts to contact these people by telephone (020 8738 2453) is a wasted effort, as they do not wish to speak with their customers. That tells you everything you need to know.

The support service is dire

The support service is dire, they won't approve photos that comply with their strich guidelines and when they give a refund after a couple of weeks they retain 66% so DO NOT USE THIS SITE

Dysfunctional business

I signed up and was even able to look at some profiles. Then I got logged out automatically. The automatic message informed me that I was not using the site for more than an hour so I was logged out. It didn’t make sense because I was constantly on the site.
I tried to sign back in. This time I got wrong user or password message. I tried multiple times with my apple password memory which is error free but I kept getting wrong email/ password message. So I then asked for reset password email.
I went to my email and I realized I had an earlier email ( almost an hour prior) that I needed to confirm my email to sign up. If I have gone as far as logging in and looking at profiles, why am I asked to confirm email???

I never receive a reset password email. I wrote to the company and I was informed that I was vetted out and that I needed to send them a picture of an ID with a paper next to my face … ( like the other reader on this site). Completely idiotic.
If safety of your clients is a concern, just ask that at the beginning of the process not by logging people out!!
Overall, the technical part is completely dysfunctional. I am glad I didn’t give them my credit card. I only lost 2 hours of my Sunday to set up a genuine profile!! And being flagged because of their inefficient business.
Please do not treat people like this.

Do NOT pay any penny for this jokers

Do NOT pay any penny for this jokers!
This web site is a joke! So their customer services??!
Let's start? They ask you to upload 'proper' profile photo! You upload many clean ones (like head photo -like passport) but they don't approve that! Once they approve (somehow) you have another problem! They check your private messages! What you say or you don't! Then they try to find another excuse- problem to remove your profile because you get lots of attention or messages!! One day they asked me to proof my ID. I asked why? Then they want u to hold a paper write your name and surname and take a pic and send them!! Like a prisoner! Oh dear. Have i said that they are jokers? They also have lots of different apps/web site under the DATING LAB LTD. and they use your photos profiles on them as well. Without your consent! How terrible! Ie; Once i swapped number with a lady from telegraph (because i was on it) then sent her text message! Then she goes! 'Who is this? I am not on telegraph i am on encounters or classic FM" It happened quite a lot! Anyway! Again! I can give you plenty of reason! I have every single evidence! Avoid them! They are jokers! Liars and Stupid! They have no clue what they are talking about if you are honest and genuine person! and ask them is there any reason why they remove your profile! (I guess one of their staff is ugly and very jealous when u get lots of messages or attention from other ladies on there! Lol) Anyway! Don't pay any ££££! Try other genuine ones! Like Hinge, POF, Tinder, Ourtime...Bumble...Whatever!
All the best!

Shocked or am I

Shocked or am I. Should have known better more like. I subscribed for 3 months making payment last night. Got a headshot cropped and exactly what they asked for. They have refused it as a profile pic. In fact they have also refused all my other pics even though one of them was used before for main profile pic. They have also cancelled my auto renewal and now not answering any of my emails. So basically I have a defunct acct that just cost me. Wonderful.

The daily Telegraph dating - Will Edit your profile 4 U

Much like the paper...
The Telegrahp newspaper - Re-wrote my profile for me.
Then emailed me to state this.
How odd.
I edited my profile, which they have not bothered to re-write. It's still LIVE and now I get more interest without an image and chat requests.

Go Figure....

Sums up the newspaper - Not worth reading.

Update

The Telegraph Dating, have now deleted my profile, emailing me to confirm. So efficient!
I must have been causing an upset to their OAP client base. I wish them all the luck and best wishes re-writing men's member profiles.

Not yet signed on, but

Folk pictured read as genuine, however it has proved so difficult to pay the month-only fee (where my money goes to the Telegraph) I'm concerned about whether exiting the service (where the flow of my money ceases) will prove an Everest-climbing experience in these financially troubled times for the business world. A shame, cos the Telegraph is a bobby-dazzler of a newspaper

Unfair cancellation system.

The company operates a highly disadvantage cancellation system for its newspapers home delivery service. You get locked in to a three month contract and it proves hard to cancel this arrangement. The online phone number proved unusable and a note of cancellation mysteriously went astray.

Useless customer service and website

Apart from not being able to even contact Customer Service unless you are prepared to hang on the phone for 20 minutes, when you do get through you are expected to deal with someone who barely speaks English in an intelligible fashion. If you can actually manage to understand a word they say they can't help because they appear to have a script and can't do anything other than adhere to it. Contacting Customer Service wouldn't be so necessary if they managed to get their website working efficiently or responded to emails, which are electronically acknowledged but then ignored.

More women than most sites

This is a syndicated database which appears under about a dozen names, so there is a fair number of women on it, compared to other dating sites.
I didn't get any dates out of it (before I found someone on Bumble) but that is not unusual on internet dating; it can take (a bloke) months of writing before he gets anywhere :)
I suspect that the women get pretty busy too; you can tell this from replies taking a few days :) All women doing that are "players".

Dont Waste your time

Lots of members who have not paid a membership fee _ they can only respond with one line messages such as I am not a full member yet or I will contact you when I become a full member.

Members who engage in repeated phone conversations but never want to meet.

Members who put up 20 year old pictures.

Members with half completed profiles. e.g. An answer of ask me later to the question, have children. Or an answer of ask me later to a question about smoking.

Members who arrange to meet but cancel at the last minute-- you would be amazed at the excuses.

Members who are obviously swingers.

Dont waste your time and money.

One improvement they could make is make it clear which members are not paid members and unable to fully respond to messages. I dont think they will do this.

The Guardian decided to shut down its dating website. Based on what ive seen, this site should do the same.

You also see profiles from other sites such as saga dating, silver surfers dating and quite a few other sites, Telegraph Dating and these other sites are syndicated.
The idea of all these sites is pay a fee and meet interesting people. if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!

Update. This site is offering me a twenty per cent discount on a membership renewal, I dont think they would be doing this if the dating site was inundated with active paid up members!

The 20 per cent discount offer keeps on being extended. The latest offer states limited time offer. I suspect the offer is on forever!

App is a bit clunky but certainly have had plenty of hits.
Not sure about all these negative reviews. I wonder how much experience they’ve had of online dating.
And yes it’s syndicated so the db is shared across a few platforms. This is not unusual either.
You need to spend a bit of time on your profile and provide a selection of pics with a decent head shot. I’ve had no inappropriate contacts; I live in hope …!
