Friday 13th ... part 2!!
The saga goes on ... no washing machine and no money back. Regardless of the promises of e-mails confirming conversations, none have been received.
They do not send e-mails to the appropriate depts, they do not action what they promise, they do not e-mail or call you as promised.
They take your money, promise you goods and in my experience the goods have never been received.
We were due a full refund (as I was sick of waiting for a date for delivery following a day sat in and nothing arriving) no later than Friday 27th October and surprise surprise nothing is in my account.
I have received the generic 'sorry' e- mail and been told there is no written complaints procedure and they deal with all complaints in house.
The service I have received has been so poor, the promises - which not one has been met is unacceptable and the way they take your money and don't produce the goods, as well as basically lying to customers is nothing short of appalling.
I have nothing positive to say about this company. I would never recommend them and would never use them again and I suggest you don't either.
Terrible service
Ordered American fridge freezer at end of January in their sale and explained that lived in narrow cul de sac so had to be delivered in small lorry/van. It took 3 attempts to deliver as they kept putting it on 7.5t lorry.
When it did finally arrive, after waiting required time, we turned on and waited and then waited for ice dispenser to work. It didn't, had to wait 10 days for engineer due to working and then he couldn't repair it.
Went back to Currys to ask for exchange and then waited for that to arrive. When it did and waited again before turning on, surprise it had even more faults. Had to arrange day off from work so another engineer could come out and he couldn't repair it.
Phoned company and asked to speak to manager and he couldn't or wouldn't come to phone so now sat waiting for call back.
All I wanted was working fridge freezer.
Will never use this company again, hope they at least give me full refund instead of trying to fob me off with cheaper exchange which is what they've tried to do so far.
Please never EVER ever use this company, they're truly awful.
Ordered an item which was meant to be a gift for nephew for Christmas. The item doesn't arrive by Christmas as per their numerous emails stating orders by a certain date would arrive before XMas. Their supposed "tracking" shows it was "left at your house or a neighbour" but the service did not have a signature (which is utterly pointless). We live in a block of flats so on Xmas eve went around knocking on people's doors irritating them to see if the item has arrived. Contacted Currys and was advised the item did not have a signature and to go ask other buildings in the area if they'd received it.
So here I go on a wild goose chase again to no sign of the item. I was then advised they would raise a query with royal mail and get back within 24 hours which obviously didn't happen. Then told it can take upto 48 hours. No contact. Then advised it sometimes takes upto 72 hours. Nothing. Then rang and was advised the matter would be sorted by the 31st and not a day longer and to give it that time. Rang again today to be told it can take 14 days. This is despite notes from previous advisors being there to say wat time frame they had promised me a resolution by. After all, if they promise something and its not resolved by a certain time why should you suffer as a result? they should replace or re-send the item and then sort it out with THEIR nominated delivery service. Glad I placed an order through PayPal and I have no choice but to file a dispute with them. Currys are as bad as they have a reputation for. If you have ANY other option please DO NOT place an order with them or buy from them, it will save you a lot of hassle and headache. I genuinely mean it. They lie to you on a whim and will tell you anything to get you off the phone which is just not right. If you tell the customer the proper time frame in the first instance it wouldn't be an issue but numerous calls and trips to royal mail (who cannot help as you're not the sender) later it turns into a massive inconvenience it did not need to be. This entire matter has wasted a lot of time and caused a deal of hassle and needless worry, and even for the inconvenience the least they could do is sort this out for me without me having to get my payment company involved. Shocking.
To make matters worse the poor girl who promised me a resolution by the 31st is now going to be "talked to" by the as though THAT was the issue not the numerous times I was messed about. Which is telling of Curry missing the point by a mile. I feel even worse now. What a hideous, wretched, rancid, disgusting company.
Helpful staff member - Tunbridge Wells
Curry's at Tunbridge Wells - life saver that they were open to 8pm as desparetly needed laptop charger at about 7.30pm. As soon as I entered store a really helpful staff member asked what I needed, took me to the items and helped me pick out the right one for my laptop, then also went to the till with me and rung it through. I was in and out in about 10 mins. So for me great service by this young man, very impressed.

They don't give a damm
Brought a new tv in October 2015 and in 8mmonths it's broken down and had to be repaired 3 times. When I asked for a replacement set, all they wanted me to do was buy an extended warranty.
Despite tons of phone calls, hours on the phone, and talking to everyone who works at currys (except managers) I've got nowhere.
I was promised a manager will call back on 3 different occasions but they never did.
I'm now taking legal action against them.
I'll never buy from currys/pc world again.

I’m emailing you in regards to the absolute awful exspearinace i have had in your mega store in warrington today
i work in warrington and due to a new job i need a laptop , i have been looking at them for over a month or so and then decided that a macbook is what i wanted, no i went to the st.helens currys 28.6.16 to look at the MacBooks there i did go pretty late so they were due to close in around 25mins i walked past 4 members of staff there just talking near the door , never approached even though i was just stood near the laptops whilst i was in there, i didn’t think much off it at the time knowing I work close to your mega store and that surely everything i wanted to ask and receive would be there
when i walked into your megastore i walked past 4 members of staff talking never said hello to me or anything then another 4 on the car phone warehouse who did say hello , i had a look round the laptops in general to see if anything would catch my eye
iv then gone to your apple area were everything is located , iv had a good look at them all to see what i wanted and what i thought would be best for myself i have stood there for around 20minutes looking, i phoned my partner to ask so questions as she is better with computers than me at not one point did anyone walk over to me to say need any help , i was on the phone for around 6 minutes
i actually looked at one of your staff as they were walking buy and i was ignored even after i said excuse me
then iv had to go looking for some help so i could ask a few simple questions etc

but just off that reaction from your staff they must be advised to help smarter dressed people so i apologise that iv been up since 4 working ,i decided not to go and look for help so i stood there leaning on the table doing nothing waiting for someone to come and ask me if i needed anything it never came! from your staff , after 30 plus minutes i actually went and asked a car phone warehouse staff to get me some help he then said ‘ yeah someone is leaving today so they are all messing about with that' , i then watch as he asked 2 members of your team to see me and i was passed down the line , he has actually had to go to the other end of the store to get a operator 304 laura to come and help me , now how does anybody on your team know what i want to ask ? they don’t! and how dare they just pass me down the line when i wanted a simple question answered will you honour this online deal can you explain ram in laptops etc
a bit of effort or a simple ill check for you now, goes a long way with me iv come to your store because i wanted a normal answer on the laptop not a apple store answer were they know what every button does or hand movement will do to the laptop what i received was a joke
the only positive is laura ,as she was nice enough to answer all my questions which are basic , i did say i wanted to see the manager as by this time the whole exspeariance of buying a macbook was destroyed , i just wanted to get it and leave
i did see her talk to a man which i think was the manager , he couldn’t be bothered to even come and see me , because i would love to know why i can’t even get some help for nearly 40minutes in your store or a hello within 10 foot of your staff

and to top it off i was made to stand waiting for the macbook whilst it was unloaded off a wagon no seats or anything after i was told it was in stock

well i don’t! i work in the same type of industry and i get enough complaints myself so i never am one to complain as most are a nightmare to deal with
but as that store was so bad from start to finish i am now complaining, which is something i shouldn’t be doing or feeling the need to do
iv never had the urge more just to walk out of a store, and that says it all for what was produced today in that shop
again laura a credit to the store the rest pointless being there unless everyone is in a suit
i will never step foot in your store again for anything id rather pay more and leave happy

more than disgusted with the company
Hi all,
I left my laptop with the knowhow counter in Warrington at the end of May and was wrongly advised. Was asked to pick up my lap top on 12th June and when I went on 13th, it was still not fixed. I was told they'd send my laptop to the repair centre straightaway. I got a text from the repair centre on the 21st June informing me that they'd just received my laptop and it'd be returned to me on the 30th June. By the way, I was told by the knowhow people that my laptop would be ready for collection in 3 or 10 days. This means I'll have waited 17 days.
It's a fair conclusion to say that my experience with the knowhow counter in Warrington has been nothing but an absolute nightmare and if I could award a zero star I'd gladly to do so.
ps I honestly don't think they care two pins about reviews.

Big Mistake!!!!
I am totally disgusted with Curries service, Bought a expensive laptop, and thought it best go in the store to hand over my cash (should have paid by credit card for protection). The manager told me if I open the box then there is no return policy. And he will not open and check the labtop before I pay.
Once past that hurdle went home (should have trusted my gut instinct) the laptop was not running correctly, Curries refused to help in any shape or form. Unless the laptop shuts down in front of them at the shop, and even when it did they was just restarted it. I can go on and on with total outrage.
All I got to say find alternative retail outlet to buy from. Either direct from a Apple store or John Lewis who price match with great customer service. But a big no no to Curries, prefer to take my chances with Ebay
Hopeless (and dangerous) customer service
I bought a steam iron online. Knowing I wasn't going to be in, I left a 'leave safe' message with the courier telling them to, well, leave it safe.
When I arrived home, it was left outside, and it had rained. A lot. The package was completely sodden, and the iron waterlogged.
So I send an email asking for a replacement. No response. With a heavy heart, I used the phone. After 15 minutes and several attempts, I spoke to an adviser who said 'Does it work?' When I explained I hadn't used it, because it was wet, he said 'wait for it to dry, and then try it. If it doesn't work we will replace it'. When I said I though that was dangerous, because I couldn't be sure it was dry, he said 'it should be ok' !!!!
This is customer service from the 60s - probably 1860s
POOR SERVICE
I haven't bought anything from Currys for many years due to previous poor experiences with them. I decided to try them again earlier this week when I ordered a washing machine from them.....Bad decision, they have not changed they are still ignorant and offer a poor service. My machine was delivered today by 2 guys who took a look at my current machine and told me it is hard-wired in to the mains and will require a specialist electrician to fit my new machine. I stated that as my new machine is integrated (as is my old one), I should have been asked this when placing my order so they could have sent the correctly skilled engineer to fit my machine. The guy agreed with me and stated this was the 3rd delivery today where an appliance could not be fitted due to hard-wiring.
All they have to do is ask a simple question at the order time to establish what kind of wiring a customer has.
I have now wasted a day and my machine cannot be re-delivered until next week Friday. I asked for an early as possible delivery but this cannot be guaranteed. Yet another day will be spent waiting.
I rang Currys to make a complaint.....The person took my details and advised me that all complaints are dealt with internally. I asked if someone would be contacting me to discuss, she said not.....Internal only!!! What a poor service!! Decent brands like Bosh and AEG should stop using such a rubbish company to sell their products.......It gives a bad impression!

BAD customer service and NOT Trustworthy Currys OXFORD
I went in to Curry's requesting to buy a gas oven. In talking with the 'sales advisor' he directed me to other gas and also electric ovens and hobs that were within my budget. We started comparing sizes and lenghts and realised that thats great and I will order an electric oven. At checkout, taking all my details, asked me if I had a set up of a red switch by my current gas oven as the installer will need to know. I said yes. The installer came to instal, unable to instal due to inadequate electrical set up, WHICH WAS DISCUSSED AT PURCHASE. It makes me sick to my stomach that the sales men and women in Curry's OXFORD cannot be trusted to sell the correct product to people. When searching online about this problem I see there are thousands of people who have been duped into buying electric ovens without prior knowledge. Yes, one can argue I should know what I am buying, but as a busy hard working person, the whole reason why I went to Curry's is because I was under the impression that they would, as a large organisation, give me good advice, instal my new oven and take away my old, hassle free.. Now I am left with £100 installation fee they won't refund because I didn't do the appropriate checks pre installation. And I have another bill to find an electrician and a gas fitter for the new oven. There are a few details left out here but all I can say this is a SCAM and unfortunately those that no best in today's society would rather earn a buck than share their knowledge. Disgusting. I hope this can help another person in the future.
Disastrous
Website did not work properly. Phoned order but operator put card ccv no in incorrectly. Card blocked. 1 hr later started again on phone. They then decided item that was 2-4wks delivery was now not available. Gave up in disgust. Then kept receiving emails saying item was available! I hope I never have to deal with them again.
Delivery!!
Ordered a tumble dryer and got a text stating delivery will be between 15:50 and 19:50. Waited in and then received a phone call at 19:45 from delivery driver stating that he won't be able to deliver as he has got to get back to Liverpool before his time was up. So we phoned Currys.. Who said they will re-arrange delivery.. Wow that's great!! Like he was doing me a favour. He then asked when suited.. So I asked for tomorrow. He told me he couldn't do tomorrow and the earliest he could do was Saturday (4 day wait for their mistake) and gave me another 4 hour slot! Awful service! Will never use again. AO.COM all the way! Had several deliveries from AO and all been successful!
Bosch oven
Ordered a Bosch oven which was out of stock.Was told it would take 10 days to be delivered direct from manufacturer.Didnt arrive so after several phone calls was told it would be delivered on such a date.Was then phoned and told this info was wrong and would be delivered sooner on such a date.Was then told this was wrong and would be delivered on the original date.Then had a text from know how delivery and given a different date.All in all was given 3 separate dates and the oven wasn't delivered on any.Absolute waste of time and phone calls to be let down time and time again.Currys had my money for nearly a month and just kept fobbing me off.I will not be using them again.
Terrible service, Atrocious staff. What Rights?
Bought a £569 bean to cup coffee machine. Broke after 34 days. Refused a replacement as outside there 28 day period. No mention of statutory right. As an expensive small item it should be expected to last more than 34 days before breaking down. Ended up letting them send for repair which maybe 4 weeks. Only left it because I argued till blue in the face with there idiot staff! I will never ever ever buy anything from Currys. I recommend nobody does. Amazon much better. John Lewis much better. In fact just about anyone else is better. Unbelievable. Been three weeks still no sign of my repaired machine. Pretty sure my pristine unmarked coffee machine will be returned not in the same condition.
