There is no client in the Cru World Wine database with the name Salciunaite. So we have no way of telling if this is a genuine review or not. Fake poor reviews are an epidemic on Trustpilot now, so if you can tell us which actual name the order was placed under we can investigate and review. We process (successfully) hundreds of orders each day.

UPDATE: This is confirmed as a fake review. We don't use the convention #14668 for orders. And no one with the name "Salciunaite" has placed any orders with Cru World Wine. And no one with this name has contacted our company.

CRU wine selling wine that are not verfied or not even in warehouse

Sharing this so fellow collectors — especially those in Singapore — are aware.

I placed an order with Cru World Wine, paid in full, only to find out the item is still two months away from even reaching their UK warehouse.

A two-month lead time to Singapore would be understandable and industry standard — but a two-month delay just to reach their European warehouse is unacceptable for an item already sold and paid for.

What’s more concerning is that Cru World’s European counterpart has been allowing sellers to list and sell wines that are not even in their warehouse yet. This means their team has never inspected the bottles, confirmed provenance, or verified fill levels, yet such items are still listed as “Verified stock.”

If the bottles are still with suppliers and not seen by Cru’s own staff, it’s impossible to guarantee authenticity, provenance, or condition. The term “verified” becomes meaningless without direct inspection or photographic proof.

In my case, their team could not even confirm what packaging the Dom Pérignon comes in — whether it’s a gift box or a loose bottle. That’s basic product information every serious wine merchant should be able to provide.

All I requested were standard verification details:
1️⃣ Photographs of the actual bottles or packaging
2️⃣ Confirmed fill levels
3️⃣ Packaging details (gift box or loose)

These are reasonable, industry-standard checks, not special treatment.

📢 Singapore consumers should know their rights — selling items that have not been verified, inspected, or are not in the seller’s possession would not be acceptable under Singapore’s consumer protection standards.

Transparency and accountability matter, especially when dealing with collectible and investment-grade wines.

Many thanks for that feedback.

But this post contains a number of inaccuracies which need to be cleared up.

1. Estimated Delivery Times - these are always shown clearly on our website and app, and when there is a deviation from an expected date, that is communicated immediately to clients. It is very often the case that wines are released to market by producers well in advance of them being physcially available. This is standard procedure. We also take very great care with our shipments from Europe to Asia, which slows down the transfer process, but leads to a higher level of care for the wine.

2. Verification - all products sold on Cru World Wine are clearly labelled as 'verified' or no verified. If they are verified, this means that either we or one of our partners have verified the product. It is not at all accurate to state that all wines sold in the market have been physcially inspected by the mechant. The annual Bordeaux en primeur campaign, for example, sees $hundreds of millions of wine sold up to 2 years before it is even put into a bottle. That is sold (by everyone) as 'verified' because the partner has trusted status within the network.

3. All wines sold by Cru World Wine are landed in one of our warehouses, where they are inspected for any faults. In addition, our clients can request an additional level of inspectation on the website. Contrary to what is asserted, clients certainly cannot sell any wine they choose on Cru World Wine. Any wine coming into our ecosystem from outside (from a non trade source) cannot be sold unless it conforms to strict criteria (in bond, never left bonded storage, original invoices produced etc.). And any wine over 10 years, even if it has never left bond) have to have an additional verification check before it can be sold.

Most importantly of all, any client who identifies a material fault in any product we sell (which was not disclosed at the time of purchase) is entitled to a full refund.

We stand by our strict protocols for the high quality operation of our platform. Our level of complaints in this area is almost non-existent.

It is regretable that this client was not satisfied with the level of service received, and we will look again at the points raised to see if there any improvements we can make.

But this client's experience is wholly untypical of the vast majority of our users.

Such a great selection

Such a great selection, great historical data and valuation tools, while maintaining very competitive prices and a very service friendly human touch. Looking forward to enjoying many of the great bottles bought through Cru.

Comprehensive and informative

They are great in how comprehensively they can be used and in their range of products - and information they provide. I invest and I drink - they are great for both. I store wine in 4 cities - no problem. And most importantly, the wine review cites that are so helpful but also expensive are not needed when trading with Cru because they post the reviews. Easy to pick good wines and great deals.

First rate wine platform

I use 3 other merchants for buying / storing / selling wine and Cru is by far the best platform on all fronts. I’ve been with them for 4-5 years now and have the lions share of my wine with them. The team (sales and service) are first rate. The level of information / education and access to a huge variety of global wines is outstanding. Highly recommend.

On time accurate

Great service. On time delivery. And probably the biggest selection of wines out there. Unlike some - they tell you whether it’s available immediately or when it’s due.

First class Wine merchants.

I have bought and stored wine with them and their predecessors since the 1990s. They have always provided me with a first class service and have provided me with access to the finest French, Italian, Spanish, German and Portuguese wines. I would unhesitatingly recommend them.

***Highly recommended***

I’ve been a client of Cru for several years now and am very happy with the service offered.
Will and his team are always looking to offer me different wines tailored to what they think might appeal to me.
Jane is very helpful when it comes to logistics, often liaising with other merchants on my behalf.
Finally there is the platform where one can manage one’s portfolio effectively given the data offered. There is also a good opportunity to trade wines if that is your preference over taking delivery.
In a word, highly recommended!!

Near Perfect. Super App, Nice People

It's a difficult to credit the previous 2 star rating. Like most merchants default pricing is in bond. If delivery is required duty and vat are clearly shown. I have bought and sold on Cru for about 5 years. Their software is state of the art and support from Tom and Jane is excellent. Cash payments on sales are always promptly made. Pretty near perfect.

Best in the business

I have had a consistently excellent experience with Cru spanning 4 - 5 years. I have used multiple other (highly reputable) wine companies in my time and certainly for my purposes Cru has consistently been head and shoulders above the rest. Wine is all about buying opportunistically and the allocations / recommendations / prices / timing and what Cru provides is second to none meaning I have been able to secure exceptional drinking wines at great value and the investment wines have on average performed well. Even my drinking wines are on average up 30% after a few months… Lastly, they have a very good platform, it is easy to sell direct from your portfolio. Highly recommended
