Terrible cruise
Terrible cruise. I have never been treated so badly by someone in the service industry. I would have been more welcome at a cheap bed and breakfast.
Got there in the end!
Our cruise was cancelled in June and then Cruise and Maritime went into administration.
I did try ABTA but they needed all kinds of documentation. I did manage to get most of it but when I tried to download it the site crashed.
So I tried my bank and after months they rejected my claim as I should have tried ABTA.
So I went back to ABTA and managed to download the documents. They kept asking for more and more so I downloaded everything I had and heard nothing. Then out of the blue a cheque arrived for the full amount. So keep on trying is my advice
Still waiting for our refund from ABTA…

This was once an amazing company
CMV were an amazing Cruise company such a shame they have gone into administration
Keep trying MICHELLE
Hi Michelle . I have already posted my account of the obstructive workings of M&S Bank . Have discovered they are owned by HSBC ( speaks volumes ) . We tried ABTA and had the same response . Useless !!!!i is being too complimentary of them . I hope you succeed . We're waiting to see if they try a redebit on our card . My M.P is up to speed on their nefarious activities and has contacted the FCA . If they redebit our card i will go through every media system i can to expose them . Will also go straight to Small Claims Court . For a British institution M&S have shown negligible care for customers but i also feel they are dancing to the tune played by HSBC . Keep trying Michelle and good luck . I regret having to give 1star .
I have loved cruising on the Marco Polo…lost cruises.
I have loved cruising on the Marco Polo . Of course our April one was cancelled due to Covid unforeseen circumstances. So now I join the list of sad cruisers for holidays gone & await for our refund I have faith 😜🤔😜🤔
Cruise to poverty
I booked and paid in full for a cruise that was cancelled. I was offered a refund and a few months later CMV went into administration. I applied for a refund via Visa and my bank got that for me. However, it has since been taken back by Travelpay, Balmain. This overdrew my account and I am furious. There seem to be other ways for me to pursue this, but I don't hold out any hope.
Still waiting for a refund.
Yes, I agree with the previous posts. I waited four months for a refund from CMV before it went into administration. I paid for my cruise by credit card and lodged a claim under section 75 with my my provider. After six weeks they sent me a letter saying they rejected my claim due to a lack of evidence and because they could not make a claim against the supplier (CMV). This is nonsense and purely a delaying tactic on their part. I told them so. Still waiting for a response.
How to waste time and get no results
Attempting to get refund from ABTA re cancelled Round BRitain Cruise departing 21st May which was cancelled. Phoned ABTA over 50 times very polite but no help directed to website which constantly shows server error. Sent documents required by email as on line attempted over 50 times to no avail. What is the use of ABTA? Phone numbers get a personwho is furloughed and no access to documentation. We are over 80 and cannot undertake future bookings due to travel insurance and health. I know they have many claimants but that is not our fault.

I'd like to thank the girls at Hayes Travel at Hythe nr. Southampton for keeping us informed and contacting ABTA on our behalf. Just wish we'd contacted our credit card company first as we might have got the money back by now. Oh, and TUI might well be losing a customer as well, but thats another story
Beware of Cruise Maritime T&C and customer servicee
We booked a cruise to Iceland in March 2019 to sail in October 2020. Unfortunately, I had to undergo chemotherapy for blood cancer in October 2019 until March 2020. I contacted our travel agent to advise them of my treatment and that I am now on the Government extremely vulnerable list and have been advised not to travel and continue isolating. I believe Cruise Ships will continue in LOCK DOWN for the forthcoming period.
Cruise Maritime are cancelling their sailings one month in advance of departure and insisting balance payment be made in full three months in advance of the planned cruise, or to cancel and lose our deposit.
I for one would not risk making any payment now, if the cruise is cancelled I believe you would only get a voucher to spend with them.
I had no option but to cancel on 20/07/2020 and loose my £400 deposit, even though the well-known travel agent tried and was told by C.M. to look at their T&C. No need to say we will never travel with Cruise Maritime again.
Hi like many other people our cruise…
Hi like many other people our cruise for April was cancelled on March 14th. Lost count of emails and phone calls made to no avail. Have now put it in the hands of the credit card company for a section 75 charge back. Was left with no other option.
Have done a few cruises before but will not travel again with them. Customer service is non existent.
The consistent story of failure
The consistent story of total absence of any communication
The same absence of refunded money.
The same disbelieve in the total failure of ABTA and the law surrounding refunds. The ABTA 14 days mutates into 90++++++++days as implemented by this company
The same reluctance to lose the deposit and therefore throw large amounts of hard earned money into a no return situation.
The same insulting emails advertising how great it is to cruise keep us literally afloat with your donations.
Can we please be informed as to whether this company still exists
Pathetic excuse of a company .
Pathetic excuse of a company .
What gives them the right to keep OUR money Id love a 0% loan from what looks like hundreds if not thousands of passengers- holding peoples money until 31 July - they aren’t even going to be a company by 31st July according on current news - guess we will be seeing this company on BBC WATCHDOG before we see our refunds 😡
Never use Cruise and Maritime
Friend and self cancelled our cruise before lockdown on March 12 th - after numerous phone calls, emails , and despite original promise of a refund between 7-14 days- we are still waiting....appalling treatment.
Same story as everyone else....
Same story as everyone else...., they cancel our cruise, don’t refund the money, numerous emails later, numerous phone calls later, no further forward at all and still no refund!! The single worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. A common thief should have more pride than you Cruise and Maritime!! I will make it my life’s mission to ensure that everyone I know now and in the future never gives a single penny to this company. Avoid like the plague all ye who enter here!!
Complete lack of customer service
113 days and still waiting for a refund.
The legal side of things even on ABTA still says refunds should be made within 14..so they are plucking figures from the air. Say they are following ABTA guidelines but they aren't.
So many phone calls and emails but still no refund
Treat their customers like dog dirt n yes I'm trying so hard to stay polite.
Im not in the habit of lending my hard earned money to companies and certainly not for 0% interest rate. It's not your money CMV......Pay it back
Have even emailed CEO Christian Verhounig who had one of his minions respond way back......but still no refund
All their advertising untruths "book with confidence" what joke
"Vote for us as best cruise company" I needed tena ladies for that one-hilarious
Will we book again??????
Will we recommend them????
One star is too generous!
One star is too generous!! Still waiting for a refund after a COVID cancellation. Been promised by the end of July 2020 in line with ABTA guidelines. Absolutely disgusting withholding people’s money. WE NEED THE MONEY JUST AS MUCH AS YOU Cruise and Maritime Voyages Ltd!! Pay up or pay the consequences. Social media will be receiving various reviews
Customer Service not good.
Have used Cruise Maritime several times and have enjoyed the small cruise ship experiences.
However we should have travelled on the 25th April (cancelled due to covid-19). It is now 22nd June and we still have not had our money refunded. The process so far
I rang customer services following the cancellation. (told to email)
I emailed(told would get a response within 14 working days)
Got a credit note refund email - replied to request refund(response within 14 days)
Response was that a refund would be no later than 31st July. This is 3 months from when we were supposed to travel.
Have rung again today and eventually was able to speak to someone who told me that they were within their rights as the refund could be within 91 days. Questioned that this was longer to be told that it was not from the date you were supposed to travel but the date that you made the request for the refund.
Was also told that all their ships had not been impounded and that she couldn't comment on the crew not getting their wages.
Basically all the above are delay tactics they will hold on to my £2,900 for as long as they can.
Will think long and hard before using this company again. I don't feel that my custom is valued.
