Help-desk is no help!!!

February 18, 2025

Hey Wendy,

Congratulations, you’ve been shortlisted to Millettia Falcon: English-United States at CrowdGen!

As you know, most projects require a bit of preparation and study. This qualification process is there to help you understand the task, and completing it is necessary before you can start working. You can find the exact requirements and the next steps on the CrowdGen dashboard – simply click on Projects in the left navigation bar and select “In the qualification process”.

We will also alert you if the project requires an identity check, or if you haven’t set up your payment methods on the new CrowdGen platform yet. Both take less than 5 minutes to complete; and once you’re done, you can start earning immediately.

Any questions? Reach out to our support team and we’ll get back to you.

Thanks,
CrowdGen Team

Yesterday 2/26, I received an email at my other email address asking me to sign up for this same project. I sent them the above shortlist email and asked them where was my pin to start the project?

Their response was:
Hi Wendy,
Thank you for your message.
Please visit CrowdGen to log in.

Make sure to use the email address with which you contacted us. Kindly set up your account and sign the required documents to continue with the application process.

Please feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,

CrowdGen Support Team

I responded with I am already signed up and all docs have been signed. How do you think I ended up on the shortlist???

No response, but anything less than a pin I am done with this fakery.

After I posted this, the next day I received an email, the system was stating I have a VPN when I do not this was sent to the helpless-desk on 2/18 the same day I was shortlisted. I took this opportunity to mention the shortlist issue but have had no response. I might have talked myself off the shortlist.

On March 13, 2025, CrowdGen sent me an email with the pin and account number to work on the Millettia Project. The pin expires after you complete the work a batch of work. They will send you another pin for additional work. My work is currently in a manual quality review, and it should be completed in about 3 weeks. I will not receive any additional work until then. After the 3 weeks they will tell me I did not pass the quality check so that they will not have to pay me. I feel they sent me a pin to stop my complaining. I will not work for them again. CrowdGen is fakery at its best and a waste of my time.

Subpar work from home site

I signed up with them in Oct 2024. Got enrolled in a project (Fireweed), worked and eventually paid after two months. My problem with them is:
1. Awful support system to say the least.
2. Pay per hour is peanuts i.e. $2.64.
3. Discriminatory; a smillar project paying like $40 per hour in UK pays $2.64 per hour in Kenya!
4. Work is hard to come by and when it comes it lasts less than a week.
5. Their website/app is relatively new so there is a lot of polishing that needs to be done to be at per with companies like Remotask.
Verdict: Work with CrowdGen if you are totally desperate and don't have anything better to do with your life.

Scam, avoid at all costs!

Basically the whole site is a cleverly designed scam, tricking you into thinking you can actually work for them, while in reality you cannot. Not only do they collect your personal info, but they waste a lot of your time with 'tutorial tasks', quizzes and stuff, only to get removed from the whole project once you are done, without any further explanation.
Avoid at all costs!

Fired for signing up

I signed up yesterday. This morning I received an email that said my account was deactivated and they couldn't tell me why. I'm glad I hadn't put a lot of time into working with them.

Government ID step blocked for 3 months

I passed several assessments successfully - which represents several hours of unpaid work.Yet I can't work on any of the available projects, because they were never able to process my ID. The ID government step has been blocked for over 3 months. Their help desk replies weeks later saying my issue was "resolved", which isn't the case.
From my experience so far, Crowdgen is a scam.

PAYMENTS-GOOD, SUPPORT-AWFUL

I have worked on a project Fireweed for Crowdgen for 3 months now. The payments are regular, but you have no say in how the hours are tracked... The hours worked are tracked by the system so if there is an error when submitting, work is lost. If the system fails to track hours - work is lost (hasn't happened to me).
I have had problems with a few units (about 6-8 hours of work all together) and I could not submit the task although everything was done. I never got paid for it.
I raised the ticket to support but all the answers I received were pretty much excuses and they are counting on you giving up. Nothing was ever resolved so many people dont even bother.
Otherwise, all the payments went through on time so I am giving it three stars.

Crowdgen is a scam

I have worked in the Crowdgen. The system did not track my work hours. So, the payment will not be made.

I have reported several problems for other issues. However, the support desk did not answer at all. The company is definitely a scam site.

THE MOST STRESSFUL WORK FROM HOME…

THE MOST STRESSFUL WORK FROM HOME EXPERIENCE! SO NOT WORTH IT! BETTER OFF DOING UBER OR INSTACART! NO ONE REPLIES TO HELP INQUIRES! HOURS OF UNPAID WORK! PREDATORY COMPANY! NEEDS TO BE REPORTED! HOW ARE THEY GETTING AWAY WITH THIS?! There's gotta be a small handful of people they pay but the majority of people are getting scammed and working for free! Projects you were working on disappear without notice and there is no one to contact and no pay! Avoid the headache! I've followed guidelines to a T and they still will come up with a bullcrap excuse to not pay! Or to pay ALOT less.

Crowdgen A Scam

Crowdgen, I honestly cant know where to begin. This is one of the most utterly frustrating and downright predatory AI companies to ever exist. From never actually paying you and the fact that someone has to wait for a millnia just to get support which actually is never support cause they just tell you 'if your problem has not been fixed reply to this email in the next 72 hrs' without actually helping and it becomes a cycle of replies that never near any fruit.
Honest opinion is that crowdgen has nothing good to offer and its an extremely bad and disgusting company that breeds on desperation of the working class and false promises.
It is in all ways a SCAM.

Obvious Scam.

as soon as I submitted my application for a job, I received an email that I am shortlisted and I only need to finish signing up and creating my profile. after receiving the email, I found out it is an obvious scam. No company in the world will shortlist you as soon as you submit your application and pay you $11 - $50 per hour. currently I am worrying about my personal info and CV that I had sent to them. please be aware.

Signed up like 3 months ago

Signed up like 3 months ago. Have been approved for multiple different projects, but received no information to start on any of them. A couple of days ago i finally get an email on how to proceed with one of the projects. The instructions are unclear but i follow them as best as i can anyways. I complete one "unit" which took me 20 minutes and was supposed to pay per unit. After the first "unit" it said i have no other work to complete. On top of it, i never got paid the scraps i was supposed to. This site, along with appen, is just one big scam and there is no reason to use this. The support is absolutely horrible. When you work on a project, it takes you to one of Appen's sites to complete the project. When i realized i was not getting paid, i reached out to support on the site where i completed the project. The support told me to "contact support on crowdgen". I immediately contacted support on crowdgen and have been waiting for a reply since. My account says i have completed no projects. This is absolutely 100% a scam. STAY AWAY

Avoid Crowdgen if you're concerned about identity theft!

I would caution anyone who is even remotely concerned about having their identity stolen to avoid signing up for and working with Crowdgen (Appen). The company routinely sends out invitations for members to sign up to work on certain projects, and part of that signing up process requires sending in a digital image of your passport or driver's license to verify your identity. After receiving either of the two forms of ID, you are never given the access needed to work on the supposed project. And worse yet, Crowdgen/Appen does not reply when you submit an email/support ticket with inquiries. Now, I see why they have been getting such horrible reviews.
