disgusting behaviour from crimestoppers
i called to report a dating site that gay men are using to share intimate photos of their wives with other users. i called crimestoppers. the person i spoke to was interrupting the whole time. it was frustrating. she kept insisting there was nothing she could do because she needed names and addresses....not just a website. i have a physical address for the website....but we didn't get that far because she went on a power trip and hung up. astonishing.
Not fit for purpose.
A waste of time and effort - maybe they’ll wait until someone is killed before they stop drunk drivers.
Close it down.
A waste of time!
A waste of time, and a waste of money. I cannot believe how much this charity has gone downhill. I was constantly interrupted by a member of staff who wasn't listening to a word I was saying, or interested in the slightest. An utter shambles!
The reviews on TP say it all!
Absolutely useless.
Absolutely useless.. I reported an issue maybe 5 or 6 times and nothing was done as the person is still driving and working without certain things. Totally useless
Absolutely terrible!!!
Such a rubbish service! After a super long waiting, a guy picked up the phone. Rude, unprofessional and useless! Don't waste your time calling them. What they do is they suggest you call 101, 999 or your local council. That's it!
worst experience of my life
worst experience of my life. 4 people ahead of me. waited 40 minutes just to be randomly cut off. the uk and these charity organisations are a fat joke. where do all the donations go? definitely not to call centres
Useless drug reporting function.
Used Crime stoppers several times to report drug use crimes in my area anonymously, only for nothing to happen.
The page used to report drug crimes is pathetic, it goes into where you think they are growing, what vehicles they use, what security measures they have but nothing on spots they are dealing or how long they are staying there for.
Normally it's good to use it to get the police to patrol that area more, but I don't think things get passed on as they should.
I believe they are several decades out of date as even the police have a better reporting page for drug use, however Crime Stoppers is the only one I know of that you can do it anonymously without the whole neighbourhood knowing who is reporting it.
hate fuelled narcissistic customer service
kid riding motorbike no helmet only balaclava in a park full of kids, then nearly ran me over. reported to crimestopper, never encountered more arrogant hate fuelled disinterested. they started raising voice at me, asked to speak to manager, they called me beliverant and hung up - 2 separate narcissists -so it is endemic in this "charity". worse than Virgin for customer. service. this "charity" needs to go. all they do is say call the police!
I reported a incident last week 27th…
I reported a incident last week 27th February 26, in regards to a father beating his daughter, the same guy been reported many times for drink driving to crimestopers with his wife who are both around 80 years old absolutely nothing gets done. Even with cctv evidence nothing, report it to mhs housing again nothing, so there saying it's OK to assault you're daughter and drink in drive in medway not fit for purpose
Don’t bother!
Don’t bother! Reported a car parked illegally on the road without a valid MOT three times. The car’s still there! Says it all about the ineffectiveness of this organisation.
reward or scam?
They are very responsive after only few hours of report they took action and raid on the tip provided and arrested .however, I dont know if anyone really received the reward from them . It seems fishy.
Totally useless
Had to wait over three quarters of an hour to report a serious crime. Kept being told someone would deal with me shortly! Because I felt so strongly, held on. When I got a live (?) human, it was a woman who sounded so bored and disinterested that I nearly hung up. She just kept drawling 'yeah' in a voice that was so switched off that it was close to rudeness. I went through the story, man's first name, area he lived in, where and how his last name could be verified. She said unless they had a definite name they couldn't take the case! Unbelievable! I shall never, ever, bother with this so-called service again.
Absolutely useless no understanding and…
Absolutely useless no understanding and they don’t give a shit and they don’t make you feel safe either. No point in having crimestoppers at all.
Completely useless charity
Completely useless charity. I called to report a crime, and they told me to just call the police. When I explained the police wasn’t answering, they told me to call the emergency number — that’s it. What’s the point of this charity if all they do is redirect people to the police? What exactly do they do besides collecting government funding? They’re supposed to help report crimes, but in reality, they do nothing and the staff were rude and unhelpful
Waste of time
A complete waste of time, no response or any other contact, I posted all the info o my for them to shut the case down. My question is, what's the point in crime stoppers? They don't care or bother whatever happens, waste of time on my behalf.
DONT BOTHER!!! Wish i read reviews before calling…
Wish i read reviews before calling them. What’s the point of this ? I was rushed to hang up. No help whatsoever, heard laughter and many people in the background. Feels like they are there for the gossip and to mock people. That’s actually very concerning and incredibly disrespectful and makes it worse for mental health
Massive waste of time!
First time using them and what an appalling service. Some bloke on the end of the line who kept interrupting me trying to report my issue and then wouldn’t do anything with the info and told me to call 101!
Crimestoppers - WHERE?
Tried to report an incident of drug dealing from a car - partial VRM obtained: letter (three spaces unknown) then three letters with a colour, make and model of car obtained on a road which is in a small market town. Full comprehensive description of single dealing occupant available. Was informed that unless I could provide full VRM and name of dealing driver they couldn't take a report. As an ex detective constable with a major UK police force there was more than sufficient detail to be passed on: the call handler simply WASN'T INTERESTED!!!!! Seems this organisation is as disinterested as policing in general!
