They sent spam to an address that was once used as the contact address for a domain name, obviously collected from the domain whois information.
As an individual, not a business, this kind of spam is illegal in the UK.
I wouldn't trust any company that blatantly breaks the law.
These people are spammers, and all spammers are crooks. They've been mailing me almost every day for days. They clearly scraped or illegally acquired a load of email addresses from somewhere. I don't know how they got mine. (I'm a retired IT consultant, not a business owner.)
