Costy is a UK platform that makes home improvement projects simpler for the people on both sides of them. If you're a homeowner, Costy helps you turn a rough idea into a clear, structured brief, so you know what you actually need before you spend a penny. From there, we connect you with vetted local tradespeople who are a genuine fit for the job, based on their skills, their verification, and how close they are to you. If you're a trade, Costy brings you properly scoped local work from homeowners who already know what they want. No vague enquiries and no time wasted, just matched jobs in your area, plus your own shareable link to bring in leads directly. The aim is straightforward: clearer projects, better matches, and less friction for everyone.

Pleasantly surprised with this tool, I've used it recently to build a project brief for an upcoming extension. I've not used the marketplace tool yet because it's not live in my area, but the quality of the document that I have created is fairly impressive and has helped me and my partner get going. It would be useful if we could both edit the doc at the same time as we are focused on different things.
We had quite a complex project to complete for our bathroom, and I found the Costy site really helpful, loved being able to upload photos and docs.
Used it for a kitchen renovation quote. Wasn't too far off although the electrics were higher than what the electrician ended up quoting. Was useful.
Simple to use and within 15-20 mins I had a scope of works ready to share. My kitchen designer recommended the site as she could see I was feeling overwhelmed. I'm glad I took her up on it. It would have been nice to post the job on the marketplace but this feature is disabled for me because of the town that I live in.
I got sent a discovery link from my decorator Carl this week after I sent my enquiry to him. At first I thought, OH GREAT ANOTHER LOAD OF QUESTIONS but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was and I can understand why he sent it over. It helped me break down the project in a helpful format and i love that it has a surface area calculator which has given me a good sense of how much paint i need to buy. It also helped me think of things I hadn't considered such as Architraves, my beloved french doors and other woodwork. Will look to use if I have another project.
So far so good. I didn’t post a job to the marketplace because it’s not ready but the estimate seemed fairly accurate and the scope document is all i really care about working. Will use again.
