Misleading sales tactics. We were informed that there appeared to be a water leak on our premises due to increased water usage, and that the company was working alongside United Utilities to help identify the issue.
After requesting further information, I received an email which turned out to be a general water audit offering advice on reducing water usage and saving money, rather than any formal notification regarding a suspected leak.
I felt this approach was misleading. The sales representative’s communication did not accurately reflect the purpose of the contact and was not an appropriate way to promote the company’s services. A more transparent and honest approach would have been appreciated.

We did not receive prior notification from United Utilities when an employee from ControlFlow turned saying we were using more water than we should be - we are fairly typical - and hustled their way on to our property, claiming to be from the utility to do our free water audit. We felt put on the spot and under pressure, including being made to sign something - we aren’t sure what - that we now suspect includes having flow control devices that we don’t want or need. Very unhappy with what appears to be high pressure sales.

I did receive an email regarding having a water test on my property. I assumed this would be optional ? I do appreciate you are trying to help. But I was disappointed when one of your employees came to my property on a Sunday which was a Bank Holiday. Unannounced!
I felt put on the spot a bit and harassed.
I did not request an appointment.

Overall great experience!
Had a survey carried out to see how Control Flow could help with my water usage.
Very polite and informative during the initial survey.
A plumber was booked for a few days after to install a water saving device to my water meter.
The Plumber arrived and was very professional, courteous and the installation was seamless.
If you want help with your water usage get in touch with Control Flow who are experts in what they do.

Turned up unannounced saying here to fit device on water meter. Had had no prior information and kept talking at me. I ended up letting him in and he did something to my taps. I was trying to wfh at the time and felt completely derailed. I told him that I needed to think about things and he gave me a qr code to scan.
Not surprised to see such a low trust pilot score.
I'm actually fuming now as we have a trading standards sticker on the door saying no cold callers which he completely ignored. Having a name badge does not exempt you from being a cold caller if you don't have an appointment. Even if they saved me £1000 on my bill I don't want this company anywhere near me.

Great service. Control Flow person named Shaun arrived on time, was helpful explaining everything then checked for leaks and fixed a dripping tap in our downstairs toilet. He installed the water saving device in less than 45 minutes. Looking forward to seeing the reduction in our water bill.

Two guys knocked on the door saying they were from United Utilities, my house had been flagged as high water usage and they needed to come in and take a meter reading. The meter had been read a few days ago, my water usage is as low as it's possible to get, the guys were in unbranded high viz. I sent them on their way, to be told I should let them in next time. Called United Utilities. They hadn't sent them. So called police who conducted enquiries and tracked them to this company. They had my name, data breach, and lied through their teeth to try to enter my home. GMP are aware and United Utilities will be getting complaints.

Like the previous poster I've had a similar experience with Control Flow failing to attend an appointment. Utterly disgraceful. No call, text or email of apology - nout!
I arranged the appointment on the phone and was informed that 'someone' would be visiting my property between 9am - 1pm today 28th/ 01/26.
I've waited in all morning only to hear NOTHING! At least Cenergist turned up last time.
United Utlities will need to sit down and check the integrity of the companies they are recommending. Someone in high office hasn't done their homework- please monitor the failed appointments or as in my case the 'No Show.'
United Utilities may want customers to save water but customers need to save time aswell. I've wasted 4 hours this morning. Unprofessional and 'casual' to say the least.
