From the moment i called and book ticket i was lied to, once we got to the ship, started journey, arrive in Guernsey 4am and they have kept us hostage until 6am!
If they was honest about this i would never book with them, Condor ferries are the worst! Never book with them, they dont have complaint procedure in place, nobody cannot do nothing, in the end i phoned police and they sorted out situation: either you disclose information (that you will keep everyone on board hostage for 2 hours) in which case i would not purchase the ticket, or you let him go out NOW!

Complete shambles

Complete shambles. Along with aurigny and blue islands making it near impossible to live in Guernsey. Expensive, unreliable, dirty broken seats and trays, sticky carpets. Nasty

This is the first and last time I will be using condor ferries
Turned up at the terminal for an early afternoon crossing on time to find no refreshments available in the terminal and the drinks machine out of order with a two hour wait for the crossing. As a customer who has the right to spend their hard earned money with any organisation I choose to spend it with another company in the future that values their customers comfort and well being. There were lots of older individuals who did not have any way of accessing nutrition and hydration before a crossing . Not customer focused at all

Fabulous return trip to Jersey

Fabulous return trip to Jersey. Ferry was clean and staff were polite and helpful. Journey was smooth and I loved being able to go outside and enjoy the scenery. Food was also good, and nice selection of wine to drink.

Condor Clipper

We took the Condor Clipper 7-hour Portsmouth - Guernsey crossing. The website advised arriving 2 hours/90 mins before the ferry sailed, so we arrived at 7am sharp. After showing our photo ID at a booth, we sat stationary in a queue from 7:15 until 07.50 when Security Checks finally opened. We then sat in another stationary queue until 9.10, so after the ferry should have sailed. There was only a handful of cars; an official told us the delay was due to freight being loaded, and he said couldn’t understand why passengers were always advised to arrive early, as it was always the same. It was clear to us that staff should have started work earlier, rather than rolling up just after 7 and wandering about chatting to each other in front of all the waiting passengers. The boarding procedure took 2 hours and 10 minutes, sat stationary in our car with only basic toilet facilities available.
Once on board, we were shocked at the extremely dated decor and limited facilities for such a long crossing. The restaurant was only open for one hour for breakfast and then one hour for lunch. The bar wasn’t open until 3pm and was like a sauna, as there was no air-con. Don’t bother paying for the ‘Executive Lounge’, I was told it is just as stuffy and the only perk is tea and coffee making facilities, a few tiny pastries and some bags of crisps. Shabby, worn-out seating also let the ferry down. Another downer was that the only lift wasn’t working, the doors kept opening and shutting. There are no phone charging points on the boat.
Brittany Ferries really need to up their game with this service.

Glad they're going!

I've lived in Jersey all my life so far and every Jersey resident you meet will most likely tell you that they hate Condor Ferries. They cancel their boats even when a seagull farts! The decision to replace the Rapide with the Voyager for the St. Malo route (my main route!) was a bad one. The Voyager is meant for calm seas in the Caribbean, not rough British seas. You can book out an area if you're in a group but you can't book specific seats. It's a free-for-all. When I travel with my family I'm the one that has to run up and snag the good seats. I also honestly think the Liberation is way nicer in terms of looks. I went on it Guernsey to Jersey after a two-day trip just because I could. All three times when I've been to France this year, the boat to the holiday destination has been cancelled. On one of them, I was going on a shopping daytrip but they cancelled the boat there! They rebooked it for the Monday, which wouldn't do because the kids would be at school. My dad had to yell at the customer service woman to get her to change it, which worked after an hour or two. It couldn't be changed at first because we'd booked during a (huge) discount period and Monday was the last day for the deal. Hopefully these new Dutch ferry people don't pull the same tricks.

We made 3 return journeys from Poole to Jersey this year on Condor Liberation, we always upgrade to the Horizon Lounge which is comfortable and you get seat numbers unlike the main cabin. The staff were very polite and helpful, whilst the car deck can be busy and tight for space sometimes we a usually get in the car even though ours is a 2 door with the doors being very long. Crossings were good and on time. We have been travelling with Condor for 20 years on the fast ferries first from Weymouth. Rarely have we had a sailing cancelled probably twice at most and due to very bad weather conditions in the channel we were given 2 days notice so able to rebook. Always had good communication from them.

Awful experience

I am a regular user of Condor ferries - not through choice, but simply because there is no alternative.

As usual, the ferry was delayed. No information ahead given to passengers patiently waiting to embark and locked in the car park.

The new ferries are packed so tightly you cannot open your car door and expect scratches to your car’s paintwork where passengers squeeze past. The embarkation process is worse if you have young children who are expected to exit the car on their own whilst you park.

Once we finally boarded and got underway it was announced that because the boat was running late we would now need to wait for another boat to leave before we could dock - causing yet more delays.

This time we had the family dog in the car. Pets are not allowed out of the car deck and he was terrified to be locked in the car for our journey which eventually took around 8 hours from arrival at the port. You are allowed to visit your pet once during the crossing if you are lucky enough to be able to open a car door. - we were not.

Don’t expect to find sufficient seats together for your group unless you have paid extra to access the lounge - even then you likely find someone else sitting in the seats that you have booked.

The staff went above and beyond to make this an excellent sailing. A few weeks earlier, I had damaged my knee and found it difficult to walk. The staff helped me to a lift and helped me navigate the parking area within the ferry.

Multiple sailings cancelled???

At our daughters suggestion we booked a trip from Poole to Guernsey in order to stay a few days there. Seeing as she was seeing to the travel and us the accommodation we didn't do our usual checks, big mistake. Due to what we consider a brief storm, Condor appear to have cancelled multiple sailings at short notice, forcing us into obtaining a partial refund and in the process loosing around £450. This is the first time a holiday has turned out this way. I'm suspicious of their motives but at least glad we're not stranded and unable get home. I won't be bothering with these people again, or visiting the channel islands either.

Great customer service!

My partner and I travelled to Jersey from Poole recently. Due to an error, either on my part or a glitch in Condor's system, the booking did not include our car, which I hadn't picked up on. We hurriedly decided to board as foot passengers rather than lose out on our holiday, as we'd booked a hotel.

The journey was relaxing, amenities good and we had no complaints outbound or inbound. The only observation was some seats in the Horizon Lounge are a bit grubby.

We were out of pocket as we had to abandon the car in the passenger car park for 4 days, so I wrote to Condor and explained our predicament. CS responded immediately and offered compensation, which reached my bank 3 days later.

Overall we were very happy with the service we received.

A joke of a company

I believe the few 5 star reviews here are almost certainly been paid for by Condor.

Condor is a joke of a company. We travelled from Poole to St Malo via Guernsey very recently. Their ferry called Voyager is quite nice. Their ferry called Liberation is appalling. We felt more like cargo than passengers - they have this appalling "airline style" seats where you're all stacked up with hardly any space between the seats. However, you can decide to avail yourself of the romantically named Horizon Lounge, though even that is not worth the extra money.

The return trip was even worse because there was a delay of 60 minutes because of "sanitary issues" - two toilets had broken down!

My advice is to use another operator to get to St Malo - ANY other operator - if you're up to it maybe try swimming!

Prepare yourself...

Not much point in hoping Condor will improve because of Trust pilot but hopefully management read it or it prepares the common customers. This is based on the liberation UK run, not the voyager French run which is the complete opposite. Firstly let me say the boat is fine. It's not great in rough weather and the entrance to Poole is unnecessarily slow but that's not their fault. The cabin crew are excellent and polite. The car deck crew however are awful. And that includes every chief officer that comes down to load the vehicles. With the exception of the Filipino chap, every one of the English crew is rude, arrogant, impatient and staggeringly miserable. No matter if they are on time or half an hour early, they rush you on like the world will end if they are 5 seconds late leaving. This is supposed to be the start of you holiday and a time of happiness but they ruin the experience. They are aggressive and hugely impatient with every driver. They expect you to be able to chuck your car in like Ken Block and woe betide you have the audacity to not be able to throw it in on an entirely new to you surroundings with 6 people giving you directions. I watched one gorilla slam his hands on the bonnet and point his 2 fingers at his eyes saying watch me with the poor lady nearly in tears at being made to reverse on into a tight space. This is not a one off. I've seen it multiple times. The car deck crew are awful and you should be prepared to have a very unwelcome crossing with these guys. Maybe they are all unhappy with their jobs and underpaid but it doesn't give them the right to take it out on the paying customer.

To Jersey and back with Condor.

We had an excellent crossing(with car) last week and yesterday
to Jersey and back from Poole.
The shore staff were helpful and informative. On board likewise. I needed assistance and got it.
We booked into the Horizon lounge and when seated observed that several passengers were leaning against the windows windows before taking seats once the vessel was moving. However once their boarding passes or lack of them was checked they firmly and politely were advised to leave. This they did.
The captain informed us on the sea state and motion of the vessel.
A good crossing both ways.

Terrible sailing poole to st malo via guernsey. I booked a nice afternoon direct sailing, but they changed it to indirect via guernsey, and also to an early morning departure. Refused to refund me! Had i known this i would have used another crossing. The ship was terrible, everyone seasick as its too small and bumping around even on a calm august day. Seats inside are airplane economy style very cramped. Horrific experience all around, never again will i use these jokers.

Con d’or

Condor. More like Con D’Or, the Golden Con. After numerous time changes over the months since booking and having to constantly change plans re hotel bookings due to changes in early check in times, the final blow was notification of a cancelled ferry meaning that our trip home from St Malo was to take 16 hours. Andre in Customer Service was suitably unapologetic and having spoken to a number of people have realised that this is their standard level of service.

An embarrassment of a service. Having asked for the Head of Customer Service to speak to I was told to send an email and that someone might pick it up. I am fairly sure Andre felt that baiting me was the quickest route to get me off their live chat. Up to that point I had been polite as do appreciate that it wouldn’t be him calling the shots but he is definitely in the wrong job.

Condor’s appalling service

This is my first time to travel with condor ferries and the experience has been appalling across the board. On my trip out of Portsmouth to Guernsey the fish n chips dinner was cold, I left my cabin for breakfast (again cold and the galley staff not understanding that bacon is not vegetarian) and upon my return the cleaners had unlocked my cabin door and left it open. My return trip started with Condor not being able to find my return booking details. When they found it they had to move other passengers out of a cabin to accommodate me. I got to the cabin and the the door had no working lock. The boat is now underway and I can only hope that the service improves. Maybe I’ve just been unlucky and things are going to improve. Either way I would discourage anyone from using this company if they have a choice. I certainly will encourage my company to avoid Condor for all future business trips.

Unprofessional, rude & callous

Staff were rude, unprofessional & inconsistent not allowing us to board on way back for a day trip. This was due to them still processing customers after the 'no more checking in' call was announced. They then allowed two in the queue go through and would not let me and my family and others board.
I was there 45 minutes before scheduled departure and 55 minutes before actual departure as the ferry was late and the staff were being deliberately obstructive. The policy is vague stating 'you could be refused boarding not will be if you are not there 40 minutes before departure' which doesn't help and we were there in time in any case. 'Emma's' behaviour (who has I have noticed been mentioned previously) was threatening, abusive and unempathetic and ironically records false ironic data on customers that it is them being rude when it is quite the opposite. The weight of evidence on the reviews would suggest otherwise. We had nowhere to stay, my son was ill and their behaviour can only be described as callous and completely unprofessional in so many ways. There was plenty of time to book in and the staff were just sat around waiting for the ferry to arrive. Customers were all treated differently despite the customers charter of all being treated the same, some being allowed to board after the call and some not being charged and some charged to rebook the following day. The managers were immature ( Daniel Whetstone & Remi), they do not listen and display an uncaring attitude and then astoundingly trying to cover their lanyards when trying to make a complaint about them in the most incredibly immature behaviour I have witnessed by a manager in some time. I have contacted customer services twice and have not received a response. I had no preventive medication with me, we had nowhere to stay, no change of clothes and we were on time. I will be contacting the ombudsman after hoping customer relations would help deal with it but they have not replied within their own timelines. These staff seem to be a law to themselves and several professional staff could not get back to work the next day which affected not just themselves but their clients as well and created huge unnecessary expense. The fault lies completely with the staff at Condor Ferries in Guernsey. I would recommend CCTV is played back and these staff monitored.
Guernsey is a lovely island and its unfair this company puts people off coming again in the future.
