Was served a very generous Roast Pork meal in the Engine House at Compton Park yesterday. Full of flavour with a pot of Apple Sauce, Swede, Peas, Green Broccoli, Cauliflower Cheese and roast potatoes. Only ate half the plate and placed the rest in a plastic box which I enjoyed for lunch today!
Only criticism was the plate was swamped in gravy which made the potatoes soggy. The staff are outstandingly friendly, efficient and caring and service was quick. I did suggest they serve gravy in jugs in future.
There is also a separate dog friendly restaurant on the side with good air flow through to keep pets cool. It was an exceptionally hot day.
There is a dog grooming parlour and camping and caravan site adjacent with lovely views over the countryside and Bodmin Moor. I highly recommend this venue. Have enjoyed meals there many times and have never been disappointed.
They also display some beautiful pictures around the restaurant.
