My first sale with collecting cars and hopefully wont be my last. This is probably the best auction site around and great sales team. Tom was brilliant always kept in touch even when the auction was ending on a Sunday evening. got a great price for my number plate. A1 5 Star company

Lots of beat up european cars that are badly misrepresented and sold to USA and other foreign buyers , you can't compare this site to bat, they are basically hands off, bought a car from there, turned out it had a bad prior repair which was very obvious, not disclosed by seller- The seller refused to even communicate after, and collecting cars would not help in the situation even when they got a 6% fee over $8,000. Of course when buying in an online auction you need to do your own due dillegence, but you also count on the site updating the listing if new info is found, asking for proper photos and if a problem arisis to help out, i mean what else is the high fee for?

Hi i recently sold my bike on collecting cars it was a great experience . Bike was sold more then what i was promised by vinnie and he was super easy too reach and deal with . Definately will be selling on hear again and dealing with vinn.

I decided to try Collecting Cars to auction my vehicle, hoping for a smooth, professional process to reach serious buyers. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I’ve had.
They made enthusiastic promises upfront about their platform’s reach and ability to sell the car at a good price. However, during the auction, they repeatedly pressured me to lower my reserve or accept bids quickly, seeming more interested in closing the deal fast for their buyer’s fees than in securing a fair outcome for me as the seller.
Despite that pressure, the car failed to sell—even at the lowest bid levels offered by bidders. The auction simply ended without meeting any acceptable price, leaving my car unsold and me stuck with it for weeks afterward.
What followed was complete radio silence: no follow-up calls, no feedback, no updates, and no effort to keep me informed or explore next steps. It felt like once the auction fizzled, I was abandoned.
On top of the failed sale, I was charged $300 for their “professional photography” service. They hyped it as something worth far more (around $1,500 in value, per their claims), but it delivered little benefit—especially since the car didn’t sell. This fee was non-refundable and felt like an unnecessary expense for poor results.
Overall, the inner workings seem geared toward quick turnarounds at the seller’s expense rather than genuine seller support. If you’re considering listing your car here, think twice—the pressure tactics, lack of communication after a failed auction, and upfront costs with no guaranteed sale make it a risky choice. I strongly advise looking at more transparent and seller-focused alternatives. Avoid if you want to protect your interests..

Although we never made reserve they worked with the bidders to get an acceptable figure.

From initial enquiry, professional photos, marketing and sale, it has to be one of the easiest and faff free ways of selling.

Had a very good experience with the process of putting my Ferrari for sale. When the auction finished, buyer asked for further information, thereafter I have not heard anything back from Collecting cars, despite many Call”s, e-mails and messages.
