High Quality and Reliable

The surveys are high quality, with a significant portion being university research. Higher paying ones go up to $18-19 dollars and they assign them based on your profile quite effectively.

Freedom to Earn Without a Schedule

This platform is an easy way to earn significant extra income without any pressure. While other research platforms try to trick and deceive, CloudConnect provides accurate time estimates, hourly rates, and a rating system for each task including an optional comments box. Being retired on social security, using CloudConnect helps with increasing expenses while allowing me the freedom to choose when I do projects.

Simply the BEST survey participant platform out there!

I've been doing online academic/marketing surveys for almost a decade - dozens of different platforms such as Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) which I used to think was the best among them...

Cloudresearch is way better than any other I've experienced. Period. The pay is higher and the content far more engaging.

Happy Participant

As a participant, CloudResearch is really easy to use. The more information you provide about yourself, the better the studies match your background and expertise. As someone who works full-time, I don’t always have time to log in, but the email notifications keep me updated when relevant studies become available. When I am ready, cashing out is quick and straightforward. It’s great to feel like a small part of such a well-run and impactful platform!

If Paid Engagement Was “Not Allowed”… Why Did They Ask To See The Video?

This review is in response to the previous review I left for this company.

CloudResearch attempted to respond by spinning the narrative and gaslighting the situation to make it appear as if I was simply the problem or someone breaking the rules. That is not what happened. This response is based on FACTS, NOT FEELINGS, and it comes directly from the email exchange. I will not allow the situation to be twisted. If you want to understand what actually happened, please read my original review first and then read this response, because this sets the record straight.

From the start, I clearly explained that the project involved paid engagement. If that was not allowed under any circumstance, the project should have been rejected immediately. Instead, JB replied with the exact words: “Please share with us the YouTube channel and video. We’ll review.”

So the question is simple: if paid engagement was not allowed at all, why was the video requested? Nothing about the video changed the nature of the project.

The timeline is clear. The video was requested. The video was reviewed. Only AFTER the video was seen did the decision suddenly change to “this is not allowed.” That is why my review raised serious concerns about DISCRIMINATION and SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT of the rules.

CloudResearch’s Trustpilot reply ignores this timeline and instead tries to frame the situation as if I simply broke the rules. That is not what happened. The real issue is WHEN the rule was applied and WHY it was only applied AFTER the video was reviewed.

To anyone reading this, take it as a lesson. When you raise a complaint, some companies will try to change the narrative to protect themselves. They may try to make you look emotional or make it seem like you were simply breaking the rules. That is why it is important to stick to the facts.

If you read my original review titled “The Rules Only Applied After They Saw I Was a Black Man,” you will see the issue clearly: the timeline and the inconsistent enforcement of the rule.

It will be interesting to see whether CloudResearch responds to this — and if they do, what narrative they attempt to frame, or whether they simply try to dismiss the facts laid out here.

Automatically Banned Despite Good Record

Used CloudResearch Connect since August 2025 and completed 216 approved surveys while following their rules. My account was suddenly permanently restricted by an automated system with no warning, no explanation, and no way for a human to review the decision.

For a platform that depends on participant time and data, removing users through opaque automated decisions with zero transparency is extremely frustrating.

I would not recommend this platform to others.

Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about your experience. We take data quality seriously on Connect, and our systems monitor for a range of quality signals across participant accounts - including response effort, AI-generated content, and platform interactions. These standards are outlined in our participant guidelines.

We understand that an automated restriction without a clear explanation is frustrating, especially after 216 approved surveys. While these decisions are made to protect the integrity of our research data and the researchers who depend on it, we recognize that communication around them can be improved.

If you believe your account was restricted in error, we encourage you to reach out to our support team directly - we're committed to reviewing cases where a participant feels the decision was unwarranted. We appreciate the time you contributed to the platform.

Highest quality and features for online research

CloudResearch is the best participant platform for online research. Their data is the highest quality (better than Prolific and all others) and has the best teams features for classroom use and enterprise for reporting.

Banned out of the blue

I completed 483 surveys with no issues. Then out of the blue they decided to waitlist me, meaning I could no longer access any new surveys. I feel like they decide to remove people when they make too much money from the platform. Customer service will not provide the reason so I have to speculate.

UPDATE 13/03/2026:
As per the reply to my review I contacted customer service about 'exploring a path back to full access'. Here is the reply:

'We reviewed your account and confirmed that it cannot be reinstated to full access. At this time, your account will remain limited to participating only in follow-up studies that researchers may invite you to after prior participation.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to restore full study access or make additional changes to the account status.'

Again no reason for why I was banned. If I had more time and energy I would probably pursue legal means but I have better things to do with my life.

Thank you for sharing this, and we appreciate the effort you put into 483 completed surveys. We want to address your speculation directly: participant earnings have absolutely no bearing on account status. CloudResearch earns its fees from researchers — not by limiting participant payouts — so there is no financial incentive for us to waitlist high-volume participants.

Waitlist decisions are driven entirely by data quality signals — factors like response effort, consistency, and platform behavior — which we monitor to protect the integrity of research data for the academic and commercial researchers who depend on it. These standards apply equally across all participants regardless of their survey volume or earnings.

We recognize that not receiving a specific explanation is frustrating. If you'd like to better understand your account status or explore a path back to full access, please reach out to our support team and reference this review — we're happy to take a closer look.

After 2 years they kicked me off the platform. Their support specialist Jay manually kicked me off after I asked him to verify if my account was in good standings (it was) I was just paranoid about a rejection that didn’t matter because I had 1000+ approved submissions so one 1 rejection was not going to do anything and I was still getting studies… next thing you know 30 minutes after speaking with JAY my account gets nuked..

Lesson learned for anyone do not contact their support for anything.

Disappointed former user

I used to use Cloud Research with success, and made a decent amount of money from it. In my experience, they did pay, and at the time, it went well. I liked the previous system of being able to choose to upload your ID or not -- it was made clear that by declining to upload your ID, you may be missing out on certain opportunities, but it was never mandatory. I am fine with that -- I am absolutely not comfortable with forking over my ID, and I am okay with taking a small penalty for that. I recently attempted to return to this site, and it seems that they have now made ID checks mandatory. This is an unacceptable invasion of privacy and, at least to me, makes the site unusable. If everyone would refuse to do it, they wouldn't be able to enforce this. Yes, using this service is optional. Fortunately, many competitors aren't such sticklers for invading the privacy of the people they're already using for their own gain. I am intimately familiar with academic research. The risk of participants being dishonest can be accounted for without forcing those participants to hand their personal information over to a website that is no less vulnerable to a security breach than any other.
