Why has Clipper Everyday Organic tea changed so much? It was a lovely golden, fresh-tasting drink until this last packet of 100 (bought in August 2022). Now dark and bitter! Won’t be buying again des... See more

Clipper tea is a great product but company does not care about loyal customers
AVOID the decaff tea
The decaff tea tastes like decaff tea of old (when the taste was so distinctly different / flowery that you knew you were drinking decaff and not caff tea). Even most supermarket budget decaff tea tastes like tea and has shed the awful flowerty taste these days and you ca't tell the difference in taste between caff and decaff, but not Clipper. It's also really weak; you can barely get one average cup of tea out of one bag. For a 'premium' brand, completely rubbish.
Great ethics and flavour — just wish the blends stuck around
I love Clipper tea. The flavours are great, I really appreciate the Fairtrade and organic ethos, and the unbleached tea bags are a big plus. It’s one of the few brands where it feels like the ethics and the quality actually match the marketing. Another thing I appreciate is that while Clipper isn’t the cheapest tea out there, the price still feels reasonable for the quality. It’s refreshing in a market where some brands seem to be drifting into “luxury beverage” territory.
My only complaint: please stop discontinuing the best blends! Every time I find a favourite and emotionally commit to it as my daily tea, it seems to vanish from the shelves. For example, the flavoured white teas (orange and raspberry) were absolutely delightful but they seem to have disappeared. It took me years to get over the loss of dandelion and burdock a few years back and my heart still fills with yearning remembering it.
I will absolutely keep buying Clipper, but at this point choosing a favourite flavour feels like getting attached to a TV character who’s clearly about to be written out of the show. Please let some of them stay!

The Earl Grey from Clipper I really like. It’s light, meaning not too strong for me, having said that I don’t leave the tea bag in too long so I can’t really talk about its strength. I like that it’s reassuring to know it’s organic with the USDA classification and I also believe they use real Bergamot not the artificial chemical kind. Nice cuppa!
Long-term Clipper customer
I have been buying Clipper organic tea bags for years, but I should clarify that this review only relates to the ordinary teas not the herbal ones, which I haven't tried.
I tend to switch between the everyday and the breakfast tea depending on what's on offer but I think the breakfast tea in the red box tastes better.
Whilst we know it's not possible to completely eliminate plastic from the teabag production process, I think Clipper still offer the best, affordable, option for people wanting a tasty organic, plastic-free compostable tea bag. Those qualities are really important to me.
I'm puzzled by the negative reviews of the breakfast and everyday tea bags. I feel the quality has been pretty consistent in the years I've been buying them. However, I would agree that the decaf tea bags are not good. They are weak and lack flavour even after brewing for several minutes. So I won't buy those again. It's only because the decaf option is so poor that I have dropped one star.
Improve the flavour of the Clipper decaf bags and I'll be happy to post a five star review. 🙂
Love Clipper tea
Started buying Clipper teas recently in Denmark and I find them so much better than the other brands, even the fancier ones. The strawberry green tea has a great aroma, my other favourite is the mango tea. Surprised by other negative reviews, this tea is top in supermarket brands.
Clipper everyday organic teabags
We’ve been buying the clipper everyday organic teabags for years and it was robust and full of flavour, however not any more. It’s now insipid and not worth the money. Such a shame as we used to love it. Noticed a change in the flavour over time but that’s usual I guess, however they’ve made it a weaker blend now. We’re going to change to a different brand.
Awful decaf tea
Tried the decaf tea and I couldn’t believe how awful it was. Incredibly weak even after brewing for five minutes- awful flavour like a mixture of watered down hot milk and earth… will never use these again- waste of money . Back to Yorkshire tea!
Hopeless box I…
Hopeless box as it falls apart and makes storing or stacking impossible. Not strong tasting teas . V mild.
Totally Tasteless [Clipper Organic Green Tea
Not had green tea before. I bought some cheap green tea from the supermarket. Had some taste. I thought you get what you pay for so bought the clipper which is 7 times the cost of the cheap supermarket stuff..... expected something really tasty... just like drinking just hot water, Dunked for over 4 minutes, Awful waste of money stuff.
Earl Grey Tea Tastes Grey
Clipper used to be a byword for quality - now it means weak and insipid. To throw my Clipper Earl Grey tea bags in the bin or not..? There is no detectable Earl Grey aroma or flavour and the black tea itself is also bargain bin quality. Will avoid Clipper 'teas' from now on.
Best Earl Grey teabags around
We love Clipper Teas, and have started including your individually-wrapped teabags in our gift boxes!
Your Earl Grey teabags are our favourites, we also love Groovy Ginger.
Off to make a cuppa - keep up the good work!
Once Great Decaf, Now Weak and Flavourless
I’ve been drinking Clipper decaf for years. It used to be full of flavour and really satisfying. Recently, it’s become extremely weak, even using two bags per cup. Something has clearly changed in the blend or decaf process. Really disappointed, and I’m not alone - check the recent reviews. Please bring back the original quality.
Clipper tea order lost for 2nd time
Clipper teas use CLF Distribution Ltd via Evri to deliver their teas. For the second time Evri has lost my tea order from Clipper. The first time in 2022 Clipper had no customer service contact number or email and so I had to contact their parent company. Now I can contact their customer services but I haven't heard from them for 7 days and want my money back.
I knew the founders of Clipper Teas
I knew the founders of Clipper Teas, Mike & Lorraine when they started it up near Bridport in the late 1980s, & I actually worked in a shop that sold the tea. Their product then was generally acclaimed as excellent - I certainly thought so. But not any more. I never buy it but often come across it in hotel rooms. It's hyped up totally tasteless water, & everyone in Bridport thinks so.
Long time fan
I've been a fan of clipper tea for about 20 years now. But can be so difficult to get. The organic everyday tea is quite delicious as is the non organic, the rooibos isn't bad, better than other brands, the chai is my guilty pleasure and I can rinse a couple of litres of oatmilk in a day just making chai latte at home. Clipper chai is different to other chais so I have a nice little collection growing. I regularly recommend clipper tea to people as its one of my favourites
Decaf tea is not full & rich.
I love so much about Clipper but the decaf tea is weak. It reminds me of a weak earl grey. It’s described as full and rich on the website. It’s not full & rich. Please make a new decaf blend Clipper.
Very weak and poor tasting tea
Very weak and poor tasting tea, really disappointed and will be going back to good old Yorkshire tea.
Beautiful Organic White tea
I wouldn't say I'm a Tea connoisseur, but I've trained with A Chinese Gung Fu and Tea maitre in Paris. So I do know a good cuppa when I taste it.
For a really authentic and very well priced cup of loveliness, this Clipper Organic White Tea is hard to beat.
It's smooth, sweet and just so refreshing, without the slight oiliness that I find in many green Teas.
I recommend it to everyone I know, and just can't rate this product highly enough.
