Zero results while dragging along

I understand that not every marketing agency will deliver and they still need to charge for their time and effort. What annoys me is when a company commits you to a 3-month package, delivers nothing by the second month, and instead of humbly accepting the defeat, they choose to waste more of your time and money while they run around like a chicken without a head. Cleverly has great super hype sale people but the deliverability is horrible

P.S. (after their reply) their generic response clearly shows that they don't care.

Buyer Beware – Gaslighting Instead of Support

I had an awful experience with Cleverly. The cold email platform is currently undergoing major changes, which made it extremely difficult to launch and manage my campaigns. Despite providing multiple screen recordings, screenshots, and detailed explanations to help their team understand the issues, I was repeatedly sent new documentation that still didn’t match the current platform.

In reality, the user interface was being updated in real time, and the documentation never reflected what I was actually seeing. Instead of acknowledging that, the team largely dismissed my concerns and made me feel gaslit throughout the process.

When I decided to cancel, I followed their policy and gave 10 days’ notice—twice—via email. Even so, they still attempted to bill me for another month.

Before signing up, I asked the sales rep why users typically cancel after the first month. He said it’s usually because they don’t send enough emails to see results. After using the platform, I completely understand why: its instability and confusing updates make it nearly impossible to send the volume required.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most frustrating software experiences I’ve had in 20+ years of working with marketing platforms. There are far better—and far less frustrating—options available.

A Welcome Alternative to The Hard Sell

I would like to say a big thank you to Shelby, Senior Account Executive for Cleverly. Not only did she stay on our consultation call. She never displayed any of the icky hard sales you can sometimes encounter on these calls. Shelby asked the questions, but most importantly, she listened, and her replies showed that she was truly absorbing what I was telling her, not simply trying to push a sale. Super jazzed!

Super jazzed!

I’ve just onboarded with Cleverly and am genuinely excited to start. Cleverly stands out immediately after reviewing so many “done-for-you” marketing options that after promising done for you, gave me done with you, or diy, and they were all cookie-cutter. At Cleverly, they really take the time to understand your brand voice, your audience, and your goals—recognizing that one size definitely does not fit all.

Their process feels refreshingly personalized and strategic, and the onboarding was seamless. I finally feel like I’m working with a team that knows how to represent me authentically, not just plug my business into a generic template.

Lacking customer service responsiveness, ok on execution

Updated review Nov 12: The overcharges happened again and this time so far after reaching out to support 3 days ago I haven't gotten a response even helping me address the issue. I will update if I end up hearing back and this gets resolved, but support who you are directed to contact regarding billing issues has been unresponsive. Due to this ongoing issue I am going to have to cancel services. Overall it was a nice concept to have cold emails sent for me, but their customer service is lacking and I don't appreciate a business overcharging for leads that I had noted throughout last month were not qualified as a lead.

Updated review: Overall better experience now that they have corrected the overcharges.

I would have given them a better review but for the cold email despite them promising me future credit applied when I was charged for unqualified or duplicate leads, it’s been 2 months and they keep not crediting . The worst part is they really don’t have a customer support or billing department contact so my only point of contact keeps promising me credit but then it’s not applied. I had tried to be patient even though they tell me it’s not their policy to immediately credit but only do future credits (which isn’t how I run my business).

Ultimately, I apologize for your experience. Typically our credit system, which is referred to in our agreements, is well-received by customers, but I understand and respect your concerns.

We have a full customer support team and people in charge of billing, but we limit the # of points of contact intentionally to ensure a better experience. We maintain under an 2-hour average reply time across all clients, which we track on the back-end through Front.com. After your experience, I dove into all communications and created a better system to ensure credits never get missed.
