Great app and great customer service

App was easy to set up and link to the car so that the necessary data could be obtained in the background. The number of cycles required to generate a report got a little confusing at one stage but Cameron at Clearwatt Customer Service took time to explain things in a thorough and professional manner. The report that was generated was extremely detailed and gives me a good starting point for my new EV journey with a pre-used Audi e-tron.

Very easy to setup and works quietly in the background.

Very easy to setup, just a case of linking car to the app and then just charging and driving normally, so didn’t have to, unless I wanted to, change my driving pattern/routine. The app then works in the background over a number of days, again depending how often you drive and charge. Eventually get a comprehensive health report which is very clear and informative. You are also given an excellent insight report early on with general information about the car, which I also found very useful. Overall, I would highly recommend the app and will use it again when I get another EV later in the year.

How a easy do You Want it?

Everything from downloading the app to putting mine and the cars information into the app was very easy. After the setup I could just forget about it while it worked away in the background and then I get an email telling it’s done, how easy do you want it?

10/10

This service is invaluable for any folks buying used EV's and takes away any doubt over the state of the battery. I'm surprised that more dealers are not using this option, as having a tested battery must be a massive draw for any potential buyers.

The app is great but you need to put some effort in to make sure you record journeys and charging cycles.

Additionally the speedy support from a chap called Cameron was great to have in the background.

Excellent app and support

About to sell my EV and acutely aware of how nervous buyers can be - especially about battery health.
I knew my battery was in good condition as I had looked after it for several years and still got great range from it. But how do you convince a buyer that you’re not just exaggerating? The answer, let this app monitor your EV efficiency over a few drives and get a thorough report.
As the app relies on a good mobile signal to monitor all sorts of things that would effect the result (terrain/speed/weather etc), I had an issue with two of my drives being over the North Yorkshire Moors and the signal had dropped and so the drive couldn’t count. However, the support at Clearwatt was first-class. Same day responses and very helpful advice.
Overall, a great app and customer service. Highly recommended.

This is a very valuable tool for anyone…

This is a very valuable tool for anyone buying, selling or just interested in their own cars battery performance. My Tesla is 25mths old now and it took me about 10 mins to upload the car details, added a few pics and ready to go. It monitored the car over around 400 miles mixed driving. It gave my battery a SOH of A++ which puts your mind at ease, and great to understand how it’s been treated in the first 2 years of its life! A small price to pay. Thank you

My first ClearWatt experience

I commissions a ClearWatt report simply because I was curious as to the potential findings, and I was pleased with the outcome. However this easily accessible and relatively good value service would be particularly useful for those wishing to sell their EV and want to assure prospective buyers regarding their EV's battery health; or those wishing to purchase an EV and need reassurance of its battery's condition before proceeding.

To the best of my knowledge, no other organisations, other than motor trade specialists, are offering similar services that are accessible to the general public.

Best EV Health Check

After looking for third party test for a while, I came across ClearWatt’s app. To test my Tesla Model 3 2021 I had to do a few drives but it didn’t take much effort. Worth it as soon as I got the report! It covers everything I wanted to check including, remaining battery warranty.
100% recommend.

Great for knowing if you should buy an EV

The battery is the main thing that prospective buyers are nervous about when buying a second hand EV. It's the single most expensive part of the car and buyers want to know if it is in good shape and has a long life ahead of it. Clearwatt allows you to definitively prove the state of your battery ahead of sale so you can be confident what you are selling - and the buyer is confident about what they are taking on.

Different to what is out there in the market and would be really useful for when looking to sale your EV. I did a test out of interest given I have had my used EV for around 3 months so wanted to get a better understanding of the baseline state of health compared to other similar EVs. Will provide great insight later down the line for tracking any degradation. Top service from the support team!

I really enjoyed this experience

I really enjoyed this experience. The question mark around whether my battery is in good health has been answered. I've also received some other clever insights on my vehicle through my bespoke report. It's given my confidence to fully embrace EV ownership.

Great to get my Clearwatt EV Health…

Great to get my Clearwatt EV Health report after three recent drives. I think I knew my EV was doing OK but to see an A+ grade was satisfying. What was also very useful was the Clearwatt range estimation varying with urban vs motorway and winter vs summer which explains a lot about why I got over 230 miles on one charge in summer pootling through central London and back but could only get ~160 using the A303 to see my daughter at New Year. Nice to have the battery warranty miles and years clarified as well as lots of other useful background EV information all in one place – only £3 to fully charge overnight at home- wow!

Like the report, but process was not straightforward

The final report would be a useful piece of information for someone selling/buying a used EV.

The process for me of getting to the report was far from straightforward, with incompatibilities between my phone and the app. Despite fixes, I could not get it to work, or to remain connected to GPS. I eventually completed the test drives with the app on a tablet.

I think the report would be improved by showing your vehicle in the middle of a scatter plot of other vehicles of the same type: it would give confidence that the report is a valid reflection of the battery state (which is what I think most people want to know)

Was exactly what I was looking for

Was exactly what I was looking for. Having bought a car from Cinch I wanted to check the battery was in decent condition within the 14 day grace period. The report gave me the confidence to go ahead and complete the purchase of the car.

Great product

I bought a bundle of 3 EV checks as I was shortlisting between 3 different used EVs and really didn’t know where to start! The reports really helped me uncover what living with each of the options was going to be like, and led me to making a choice I am now very happy with. Highly recommend!

A novel car battery health report invaluable to a secondhand EV buyer

A novel product that is easy to use and provides an helpful, clear and informative report about your car’s battery health.
Whilst £40 may seem a bit pricey for the report, the peace of mind it could provide a buyer is invaluable.
I’m not sure I’d buy a secondhand EV without such a report - unless there was a solid warranty on the battery
