This is not a live guided tour

This is not a live guided tour. Just ride the bus and Google things, you will get more information. Our driver also went through the audio too fast so the clips cut off before they were over and then onto the next incomplete recorded outdated fact. PASSSSSS

Awful!

Old derelict buses no speakers / headphones/ multilingual options just driver commentary which varies and was terrible and impossible to hear or understand. Multiple extended stops and bus stopping to change drivers making it very slow and drawn out. Would not recommend this service in San Francisco, have used the company in other cities multiple times but this one is terrible.

Jerome is the man!

Bought 2 day passes on the city sightseeing buses. We met Jerome at union square who was amazing. He was lovely and welcoming, so knowledgeable about the city and gave us great recommendations of where to go. He is a credit to the company and we're so glad we met him. Thanks Jerome

Waste of money! Skip!!!

I did this tour with my 2 kids a couple of years ago. It was great and I told everyone I knew to go on this tour. My family of 5 decided to do it for our trip to San Francisco this summer and it was a NIGHTMARE! We got on the bus fine at Chinatown and rode to North Beach. Got off, pinned the location in our phones and took photos so we’d know just where to stop. Ate lunch and went back to the stop. 3 EMPTY buses flew past us, the drivers barely glancing our way. After waiting an hour we decided to walk to the next stop (Columbus & Beach) and get on there, hoping for more luck. 2 more empty buses flew by without stopping! At this point we had walked several miles and been waiting 2 hours for a bus to stop and pick us up. Finally a bus stopped and we got on. We rode to the main starting point and went onto a new bus to start over. By now it was after 4 pm. The last bus runs at 5. We rode, terrified to get off and miss any more buses and risk getting stranded. On this bus we noticed the driver never slowed down for the designated stops. Twice we had to yell at the tour guide to stop because people were trying to get on the bus! We decided to risk it and join everyone else at the Golden Gate Bridge stop. We enjoyed that and quickly got into another bus with a great tour guide, Giovanni. He was wonderful. Charming, funny, full of great info about the city. Each time we came to a designated stop he made sure the driver stopped. Unfortunately, at this point there was only 1 bus behind us and we weren’t sure it would stop, so we stayed on and missed all the exploring we had hoped to do.

Do this tour at your own risk! If you get a good, alert tour guide and driver you should be fine. But if not, you’ll be like us, pushing a stroller and dragging 2 other kids all over the city praying a bus stops. It was a total waste of money. It would have been cheaper and less waiting to take an Uber to each stop!

I would like a refund. I demand and deserve one. This tour wasted $184 we worked hard to earn.

City Sightseeing Bus Tour in San Francisco

Having used City Sightseeing in other cities I was expecting a good service, However in San Francisco I was very disappointed. The wait for buses was unacceptable. A Hop on Hop off service would lead you to believe that a bus would be along every few minutes. This was not the case. My family of 5 were left waiting at times up to an hour for the next bus. Other companies' buses came and went, sometime 3 or 4 of them while we still waited on City Sightseeing bus to arrive. Very bad service. As we were on a tight schedule the wasted time waiting on buses was most annoying. On the plus side however, all of the tour guides we experienced were very good - knowledgeable and entertaining and made the trip enjoyable. Overall I don't think I would use this company again and would opt for one of the other city tour companies in future.
