Watch Out: Citizen has no time for customers.

I was gifted a wonderful citizen watch, truly outstanding design.
First thing I did? Excitedly sign up to Citizens Guarantee online.

The next day I took it to F Hinds, the trusted retailer from where it was purchased, to get the links adjusted to my size. They did so and it was great.

A few days after, the watch fell off my wrist, completely unexpectedly. Ha ha, laugh it off as a silly mistake from F Hinds. I took it back, they sorted it and ordered a new link, happy days.

Couple days later, its fallen off my wrist again. I am very anxious. What if I was walking over a drainpipe, or on a motorcycle, or getting off the bus? Luckily I was indoors so I still had the damaged goods.

This time, I thought best to bypass F Hinds, and see what my Guarantee or perhaps the lovely people at Citizen can do to help me.
The answer? Coldness and pusbacks. They had no empathy with the facts I could have lost my watch altogether through no fault of my own. No care that this was a gift I cherished, and was a new Citizen customer. No time to deviate from the trained HR route they were clearly programmed to follow in resolution.
They, in fact, offered to charge me for the error they believed F Hinds were repeatedly making, not inserting a collar in with the link. This..... was a gift.....
I was appaled and, honestly, shocked. My excitement from getting the watched had almost by now completely faded.
I hung the phone up, realising I wasn't to get anywhere with the particular customer service rep, but then called again, with the belief perhaps it was another agent I who may understand. My second call was with the previous agents' manager.
Reinforcing the push backs I was previously recieving, I became irate. Reasonably so.
Even less care.
I realised I wasn't to get anywhere in the phone call, hung up, and have now resolved to get the watch fixed with a reputable repairs person.
I have been totally disrespected by Citizen, and yes F Hinds are largely to blame, but when they could do nothing, it was your job to help, Citizen, as you trusted them as your retailer.

You have let me down.

Received a Lemon, Citizen Don't Care

Purchased an expensive Citizen watch as a gift for elderly parent. Within the first few months it had moisture on the inside window. Sent back through F Hinds to Citizen. They had it for about 4-5 months. Finally returned it and said fixed. Within weeks it was filled with moisture again. Sent back. They had it for another 4 months. Said it was now fixed and sent back to us. Same process happened FOUR times in 2 years. They refuse to replace it. Most recently they've had the watch for 1 year +, but are now saying they want to charge £200+ for the "fix" - even though they can see it was returned non-stop from the start, and all their previous "fixes" never fixed the problem. Absolutely horrendous Customer Service! I can only advise everyone else never to buy from Citizen. If you ever have a problem they simply don't care. Their warranty isn't worth diddly squat!

The watch is 0% charge, won’t power on. Citizen violates consumer rights for a warranty

My CZ Smart Hybrid is completely dead in warranty, and after weeks of emails I still have no repair, replacement or refund. 😔
UK service (tickets #2293675 & #2276784) confirmed the model is discontinued and cannot be repaired, yet no alternative remedy is offered. Cyprus, Germany, Dubai, Malaysia and Global HQ all say they cannot service this watch.

Appalling customer service

I bought a citizen last September with a five year warranty. The strap pin has broken but Citizen will not fix it for me.
I am never buying another Citizen again.

Attesa CC4075-50L Superb!

I have bought a number of Citizen watches now, from Citizen UK and from stores. I have been looking at the Attesa Range for a while, and decided to bite the bullet and buy the CC4075-50L. The dial is an incredible iridescent blue which changes in various lighting and the hands have a superb lume. The watch is very lightweight due to super titanium materials, has gps time setting, Eco Drive with light indicator level. Almost makes my other watches redundant. I have no regrets despite it being a lot more expensive than other Citizens I own, and just feels like the quality is on another level. If like me the cost worries you, buy with confidence. You wont be disappointed. Just a shame you cant see these in stores

I have ordered a Tsuki-Yomi Radio…

I have ordered a Tsuki-Yomi Radio Controlled Moonphase watch on Friday. They offer 10% discount for the first order. I could find the same watch on Amazon with a slightly cheaper price. However, the warranty period on Amazon is two years while on Citizen watch website five years. So I purchased from this website.
Just after ordering, I realised that I didn’t enter my wrist size. So I created a case on their customer support page and asked for resizing the bracelet before delivering it. The support team immediately responded. They handled the problem properly. They had informed the warehouse to resize the bracelet just before shipping it.
Today is Wednesday. I received my order this morning. The delivery process was also smooth. DPD kept me informed from start to finish.
The watch itself looks great, better than I expected.
All in all, I’m very happy with the product, ordering process and delivery. Definitely, I would order again.

Built-in obsolescence

The service from the agent was good, but from Citizen it was awful. Clearly they make watches costing several hundred pounds with built-in obsolescence. My watch model has been discontinued so they are unable to repair it as they don't have the parts. It probably only needs a new capacitor, but now it is destined for the bin.

Citizen Watch UK need a wake up call……

Citizen Watch UK need a wake up call… I’ve been trying for several years now to obtain a strap for my Citizen branded watch after it began to fall apart. Each time I went to a jewellers to enquire about a replacement leather strap it was necessary to give the watch model number which is totally understandable. Initially, the watch straps were available at significantly differing prices between jewellers (varying between circa £72 - £154). I never followed up any of those because I actually wanted a different colour strap, but was consistently only offered the strap relating to my model of watch by Citizen. Unless, I wanted a generic strap of course… In the meantime, the strap for my watch model is no longer available.
However as I’ve recently discovered, I was obviously not asking the right question. I should have been asking for the strap of a watch model I liked (and the strap was known to fit my own watch model). If you can find a helpful jewellers, they will try the straps of watch models they have to see if what you like will fit your own watch. It only takes a few minutes. This is where Citizen’s customer sales service fails dismally because they do not offer potential alternatives of straps that will fit different watch models of the same build as your own. This negative approach can only be losing them sales and customers.
It was only thanks to a jewellers I tried randomly before Christmas that not only did I see a strap that I liked, but it also fitted my watch model. The jeweller was very helpful in swapping out the straps from a watch model on display so I could see instantly if it was what I wanted. It was.
It should also be noted, based on my previous experiences that not all jewellers are even this helpful. You have to ask because it seemingly does not come as a natural response to help.

I recently purchased a watch from the…

I recently purchased a watch from the Citizen Watch website and requested two links to be removed before delivery. Unfortunately, the watch arrived without the alteration. I reached out to their customer service, and I was impressed by their prompt and professional response. They provided me with a free return label, made the necessary adjustments, and returned the watch to me quickly. The entire process was seamless, and their customer service team was incredibly helpful and efficient. Excellent service overall—highly recommend Citizen Watch for their quality products and outstanding support!

I would not recommend Citizen Watch

I ordered and paid for a watch that was supposed to be a gift, but after a week of waiting, I contacted customer service to inquire about the status of my order. I was then informed that, due to an error, the watch was no longer in stock and that I would be receiving a refund. This is incredibly disappointing and frustrating, especially since it was meant to be a special gift. I would not recommend Citizen Watch based on my experience. Very poor service and communication!

A great experience with Citizen.co.uk

A great experience with Citizen.co.uk. I ordered 3 watches and even with free they turned up in just 2 days and were very well packaged.

However 1 watch (a retirement gift) had been accidentally placed in a novelty box for a different watch. I contacted Customer services who promptly replied, they were very apologetic and had the correct box sent out the next day.

Really pleased with the purchases and Customer services to resolve this minor issue.

I own several Citizen watches

I own several Citizen watches. When I asked what battery it uses, I was refused. I had to fight and ask to get a manager involved, who didn't even contact me themself. Then I was given a part number. It was like it's a secret. I am a customer and don't why I had to fight to get the information I asked. Without ordinary customers like me there would be no Citizen Watch Company. I am still struggling to understand why customers are dismissed when they ask about a product they have purchased. This is not how a loyal customer base is achieved. This is nothing personal with the agent as they are following the company rules. I didn’t know it was an official secret when asking about a product you own. I have never ever had this experience with any other company when I have asked about the product they sell and I own.
I can’t help thinking about this strange situation every time I look at one of my Citizen watches. What a shame it has really put me off the brand. Just because I asked about a battery that my watch uses, it is absolutely ridiculous and no one has personally contacted me.

Diabolical Service from Citizen Watches UK

I bought my son a Citizen watch for Christmas and he loved it. I have 10 of their watches. Unfortunately my son dropped his watch and smashed the glass. I sent it back to Citizen for a new glass. They wanted over £200 to repair it (more than the watch cost new). They said it needed new hands and a new dial. Absolute rubbish! I complained and they just sent the watch back. I won't be buying their products again with that sort of customer service.

The lousy rating says it all

I bought a £170 Citizen man Eco watch in November 2022 as a Christmas present for my partner. The winder came off the watch which was sent to them for inspection and they're now charging me for the repair even so the watch is only over 1 year old and I provided the receipt. So I guess that the 5 year warranty is useless and just a con ! Their products are sub-standards and you'll have no comeback when things go wrong so beware of this brand ! You can definitely find decent quality elsewhere for your money. Their customer service employees were helpful though and queries were duly followed up but I will personally not purchase any Citizen goods ever again.

Unreliable watch from Citizen

I was gifted a Citizen Promaster watch 3yrs ago £170
The watch boasts 300m Dive but suffered condensation after just swimming & stopped working.
Returned to Citizen for repair and was quoted £111.
I couldn't see the sense in retaining such an unreliable watch given costs.
Citizen apologised & offered me 25% discount on my next Citizen watch??
Why would I waste money on another Citizen Watch??
