Briefly considered getting a card but didn’t follow through and cancelled within the hour. However, they’d already taken my money and are now ignoring me when I ask for a refund. It seems that they make the process of getting the card so bothersome that they’re hoping people will cancel and then they get to keep the money without doing anything to earn it.

They need id for bank wasn't excepted and they dont have address on them either told bye bank no use for id so you have to go for passport or provisional so has every detail on them like provisional and passport do

Don't even look into this card thing, they want passports driving licence and a referee? If I had the first 2 I wouldn't be needing this? Its for the illegals so they can use it scam us british. Just beware people. Been uk for 40 yrs and I cant get 1 buyvthe foreigners down the road all have them?? Just get a passport or a provisional and if you own businesses don't accept these cards and then uk might just beck back to when we're the world's top dogs till these ppl making crap up so illegals can do what they want n our country
Would leave 0 stars if I could.
Took nearly 3 weeks to tell me they needed a photo not a scan of my son's birth certificate. This was not flagged up as an issue when documents were uploaded.
Now he goes back to waiting another 3 weeks.
As we are due to travel on a domestic flight in 10 days, I now have to cancel my holiday.
I could try to upgrade to express, but I don't expect them to reply to my email or contact us form in time.
Plus I have no idea what the next excuse will be to reject my application.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Just to say the reply received was exactly the RUBBISH I expected and I have had no reply to my email and contact us form submitted yesterday.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I needed a new citizen card. It was sent out but I didn’t receive it in the post. I got back in touch online. They have kindly sent another out. Thank you so much.

making you pay for the card before actually giving you the requirements you need to actually be able to apply for one. £18 down the drain all because i don’t have a real working id, isn’t this the reason why we’re actually applying for the card because we ong have ID, it’s silly. And the fact we need a referee, but you can apply to citizencard for under 16s so how do you expect someone under 16 to be able to access an adult you’re not familiar with. There’s no sense in actually applying

Very easy to renew ,everything was simple to follow and card arrived within 3 weeks, thank you.

Fab experience.
Only issue was the face scanning, it took several attempts.
Glad to finally have photo ID.

This is an updated review iv change my review from 1 to 3 as the customer service is ok it just takes so long to get a response via email not everyone on social media to get instant help but they need to change the way they take payment they shouldn't take payment until you have uploaded documents and checked the best quality you can upload yourself knowing it's not going to be accepted you have already paid but don't want to proceed I email saying this but they sill wonted me to submit so they can take the payment Iv received an email saying I will receive a refund after email the refund department directly

Don’t bother using this company, you might as well pay extra for a passport, I ordered one of these for my elderly father in law, completed the application and paid, then several weeks later they decided I needed more information which he doesn’t have, the whole point of ordering this card, I cancelled my application now they’re refusing a refund.

Where do I even start with this train wreck of a company.
First of all they make it a slog to get a referee, epecially if youre an older person with no family or friends to ask.
and on top of that, even if you send the details of a person with a registered buisness, they can just... reject it and say its not enough.
Secondly it states on their website that they wont give you a refund unless they consider the reason to be their fault! so even if you get rejected and decide you want to make a better descision and go elsewhere you cant even get your money back.
And lastly, CitizenCard themselves will likely reply to this review, dont bother reading it, one glance at all the reviews is all it takes to realise that they just copypaste replies and make no effort to actually reply just so they can keep up their score.
Garbage Company, Garbage Service!
Please just go elsewhere, dont make the same mistake I did.
