Payless Car rental serviced by Cicar at Tenerife airport south. Got a free upgrade to automatic version of Seat Ibiza. Car in lovely condition and comfortable. Excellent fuel policy of charging 40 euros up front for full tank of petrol then refunding to nearest quarter of remaining tank, which is a very good deal considering rising fuel prices. Some confusion upon return of the car, as barrier did not automatically open to let me into car park at airport, but pressed button for ticket and helpful rep in office said not to worry parking is free. Rental price could have been a bit cheaper, but terms and conditions good. Will use again.

Once again using Cicar we're more than pleased to use Cicar: better cars, all (I mean ALL) included, reasonably priced etc.
One note this time: they are too popular! it meant that we had to queue up for appr. 25 minutes at GC airport before reaching their counter (the other 5 car rental counters were empty !). Suggestion: make a queue for "VIP"customers, that is, us that have made all the administrative work from home. When at the counter it took me less than 2 minutes to get the papers ready, and move on to fetch the car!

I had a reservation for 2 months at a good price (via CarJet), but our plane was rescheduled and would arrive 6 hours later (same day !). I had to change the reservation as my car wouldn't be kept for me. The price exploded from €1047 to €3987 ! Scandalous !

Easy straightforward and good selection of cars at good prices. Want a second driver? Just register at no extra cost. Never understood why most mainstreet competitors charge for that. Does not cost them anything. Not at Cicar.

Waiting in line in Las Palmas airport, Grand Canaria. Have waited for 45 mins and there is still 50 people in front of me. Two people at work in the Cicar office. It takes them on average 5-10 mins per customer (beyond me why it has to take this long to pick up a car?!). This is going to take 3+ hours
Yes, their prices are good, but next time I will happily pay 25% more and use one of the competitors (most of which have little to no queues).

We hired a car from Cicar for 3 weeks in Fuerteventura, the lady at the desk was very efficient and only took a few minutes to get all of the details. We were upgraded which was nice. The car was clean and in good condition mechanically and bodywork. When we took the car back we were asked if the tank was full and had we had any problems the handing back took approx 1 minute. We will use the company again

it's our close to 80 cars booked in Cicar in 10 years.

This time the gave us a Fiat 500 mini 3 doors. Really. One of us being nearly 2 meters high and 3 people with suitcases.

The always arrogant blond girl in the carparking basement department reluctantly found another car opel corsa, presenting it as i was lucky to get it. I said its also a to small car, do you have one similar to Fiat Tipo that we actually booked?. Rolling her eyes to the back of her head, she gave us at Volvo mumbling something not so nice to her colleague, i asume. Well, right now and until 1 of December we drive a burnt ut Volvo, broken rear view mirror and breaks we hope will last the periode out.(sounds very strange) She got her own revenge and we got a very different experience.

This car rental company accepts payments in cash, the second driver is free of charge and the vehicles are new and clean.
No deposit needed (except the fuel one, which for us was 18€ - fully reimbursed at the end); no credit card needed; full coverage insurance included and an online booking completely trustworthy. Plus, the daily price is very cheap and competitive.
The best experience I've ever had with a car rental, so far.

Everything good with my car in Tenerife.

A bit dissapointed at the beggining as they didnt offer me the car I booked ( a VW Polo )
They gave me a FIAT TIPO- very nice car but a bit long for me so I refused.

I asked them another one and they upgraded free to-Opel Adam Rock.

Overall, I am Happy that things got sorted.

Just dont expect the car you book online- as it says there as well- the model is not guaranteed.

Staff very nice

Very very bad company I make a reservation on line with those guy and charge me a different price at the count , they told me the charge different was a security deposit for the gas tank, I drop after a week the car full of gas but no accredit back!! This company cheat honest people!

The company was really fast and competent with the service. I rented a Fiat 500 hybrid and the car is really good to drive, it is better to take a small car in Las Palmas as the streets in the island are quite small. I would certainly recommend the company in the island

i always choose CICAR when going to canary islands.
there's no compromises, you get what you ask for, and there's no hidden text.
Insurance covers everything so you dont even have to worry about anything.
Best service ever so far. Not the most cheap, yet a fairly good price and you get a service with good quality.
If you want to be safe and sound and not worried about your rented car, just get CICAR.

I have used Cicar multiple times now in the Canary islands, they offer good cars, with affordable prices, full coverage insurance, all through very easy transactions and user friendly contractual terms. We experienced once a breakdown (the car's engine was running fine for a few days then it suddenly started smoking) and they showed up in no time with a new car of the same make and model and took ours back. No charge and no questions asked. The staff at the airport has always been friendly and efficient.
