We made inconsistent experiences with Cicar:
- the e-mail support before booking was very good, on request Cicar is among the few rental agencies that allows island hopping.
- pickup in La Gomera was easy, thanks to full insurance damages don’t need to be reported. The withheld deposit for fuel is fair and not overpriced as with other agencies.
- the La Gomera team seems pretty unhelpful when unforeseen things happen: they were not able to replace a car that had minor problems and were pretty unfriendly when we discussed the problems. When we forgot to return the keys they dramatized the problem and were unfriendly again. Their colleagues in the main office acted similarly.
Luckily their colleagues in Teneriffa were a lot more professional, friendly and relaxed. They solved the problem easily.
I would give 3 stars for the main office, 2.5 stars for the La Gomera team, 4 stars for the car, 5 stars for the rental conditions and 5 stars for the Teneriffa team.

Fast & uncomplicated check-out and check-in, cars are close to the checkout counter, good prices!

I really can recommend the Cicar compared to others. They have been really flexible in car return location and also allowed to fully fuel the tank although I was late in time for car return. I defineately will book Cicar again. Very friendly, very helpful and very good conditions in total!

We ordered a Fiat 500, especially to have a small car for the small streets in the mountains. An "upgrade" to a Family Car is not an upgrade if the car making your tours challenging in driving and in the end in searching a public parking, as the use of empty parking places of cicar in the habour was denied. Technically car was ok.

We appreciate how quick and uncomplicated everything is. Getting and returning the car-key without any hassles! Thank you! Our favorite car rental company!

Everything OK. Don't forget to take enough fuel when you leave, for instance across the island La Gomera, because the tank could be pretty empty.

Hello, I would rate 5 stars if you go back to full/full gas policy. Not 1/4 or 1/2, we can never return the car without loosing money on gas.

Super Service from booking to return. The cars are always new and in good shape and the price is unbeatable. I can highly recommend it !

Top Service. No deposit. Only with full insurance. When you want to rent a small car on the canarys this is your best option in my opinion.

During covid winter 2020/21 i decided to visit all Canary Islands and travel for three months in total. Arriving in Lanzarote at the airport and then continued the journey into every other island per ferry.
I booked 7 times a rental car with Cicar and every time the whole process was exceptionally good. The booking process at their website very convenient and easy, the staff at the offices very friendly and capable, the cars clean and well maintained. What i especially liked is that you do not need a credit card and you can even pay cash while picking up your car. There are offices in all islands in all larger tourist spots like airports or harbours.
I made quite negative experiences with other rental car companies but never with Cicar.
BTW i was not paid for this review and the only "negative" aspect was that despite renting for three months, i never received an upgrade ;-)

Really easy way of rent a car on the canary Islands. We booked two Times with cicar and evertyhing was really relaxed. The stuff is friendly and helpful.
