the staff are rude and lazy

the staff are rude and lazy. I went the other day and there was four of them. My van was full of stuff and not one of them offered to help but as soon as somebody turned up with a TV monitor there were straight over and they took it straight off them and put it into the cabin, obviously to keep for themselves

Chorley Borough Council - Disgusting

Chorley Borough Council - what a fiasco - Shame on you

In January 2023, Chorley Borough Council employed contractors to remove a number of trees from their land adjacent to Drum Head Rd, Chorley North Industrial Est.
A few days later my grandson parked his car at the side of the road opposite his place of work (Black Box Group) which he had done so for the past year, except on this occasion, it was his new car which he had saved up for over a number of months and on his return from the site he had been working on, he found that a tree had been blown over onto the roof of his car. It was drivable (just) and was taken to a repair garage which advised that the insurance company would probably write it off. Fortunately, the car was found to be repairable, and the insurance paid the costs, but that was not the end of it.
The council had been informed the day following the incident and a council official came to the offices of Black box and agreed that it was the council’s fault since the contractors, who did the work, had advised the council that some of the trees that remained still needed to be removed as they were in a dangerous state.
My grandson informed his insurance company (1st Central) who requested that he get the Council to confirm to them that they where liable, this he did but heard nothing. A friend who is a solicitor wrote on his behalf to the council but still got no reply. After a number of letters had been sent, I contacted both our local MP Ben Wallace and the Chorley MP Sir Linsay Hoyle (who declined to assist) however Ben Wallace did, and he wrote to the council regarding the matter. They in turn advised that they had passed it to their Insurance company but still nothing happened despite several more attempts for a reply from the Council.
After 15th months the council finally replied stating that it was not their responsibility therefore my grandson has lost his no claims bonus costing him almost £2000. I can only assume that the next stage is to contact the Ombudsman !!

This council is not fit for purpose

This council is not fit for purpose. The leadership allows water companies to pollute their land at will and does nothing to support the local people to stop these illegal discharges. Chris Sinnott is the leader states that because the public cannot see the environmental disaster then it is ok for united utilities to continue pumping sewage into the brook and onto public open land. They also turn a blind eye to land they own which is collapsing and is a serious H&S concern. Dealing with this council entails writing to them and receiving the same cut and paste reply at best.
The council wastes millions of pounds on heating upgrades to the town hall yet lets its rate payers live in an area saturated with raw sewage.
