Nice team, clear instructions, good facilities. We had Roger for our MCA masters 200 prep week and he was a great instructor/teacher/guru, loads of hugely valuable experience and knowledge and a good laugh
Great experience and nice people. Open conversationsm experience sharing.
Not many centres offer 2 days of preparation & exam alongside an advanced course, so it was great to get it done in a whole week. I am someone who doesn't retain information well if the learning is broken up, so this was perfectly suited to me.
Instructors there are all welcoming, and want you to do well. They know the waters, so well that it makes the learning process easier. Thanks for everything!
Highly recommend!
I completed a powerboat level two instructor course. The course is well planned and professional. Doug was an excellent instructor.
Professional explanation, training and book.
Very professionally run course with first rate instructor. Would highly recommend
The most friendly accommodating training school out there.
Great First aid course delivered today, informative and well run.
Hands on training. Good approach taken by our instructor. I would have liked less on rigging basics and more on the hands on splicing skills.
The learning experience was very good throughout the course as the practical and theory were blended together well. Humour and our own experiences added to the breath of knowledge that we could all learn. Referencing the course notes helped our focus and placed the practical into the appropriate context which enable our tutor to differentiate the material to our needs, keeping us on our toes and engaged. The two boats we used, enabled our confidence to be quickly established, working together navigating and driving the boat, rescuing 'Bob' illustrated in such short period of time how much we had gained in knowledge and technical competence. Many thanks.
Great instructors. Incredibly knowledgeable and professional during the GMDSS course I attended.
Very impressed by Alan's way of teaching and already looking to book more courses with Chieftain. Very professional and great approach.
It was a real pleasure to spend time at Chieftain Training undertaking my LRC. Alan was a cracking instructor and his knowledge was brilliant but so was his banter, making it a pleasure to be involved in a serious course, but so everyone was included and supported. A great venue with the facilities that were needed.
Professionally run course and Alan was an excellent teacher. Would recommend.
LRC course: v good facility, equipment and Alan was an excellent instructor. The course was comprehensive and enjoyable. Recommended.
The course was comprehensive and well run by John the instructor. John was engaging, knew his stuff and delivered an informative day.
I have not given 5 stars for the following reasons. The premises are a little 'tired' and the engine classroom a bit of a dungeon with no windows. To be fair I understand a move in location of the school is being planned.
I also thought that the on screen presentations, power point etc were a little lacklustre. Often they just mirrored what was in the RYA workbook, and there were no animations of working diesels, or associated systems which would have helped the students, and probably the instructor as well.
With no previous Instructor training, I found Chieftain Training's course Training the Trainer for STCW based on IMO model course 6.09 excellent. The lecturers were very helpful, accommodating and inclusive. Thank You.
