For transparency, I previously left a review about my experience with Chequp. This is a new review written in March 2026 and relates to the more recent handling of my concerns. I’m including some related information to help others understand the full context, but this is an updated and separate account of my experience.
I’ve been a Chequp customer since August 2025, and for most of that time my experience was positive. I consistently referred new customers from the moment I joined right up until 29 January 2026, when Chequp suddenly changed the terms of their referral scheme without warning.
When I joined, the referral programme was advertised as:
- £50 credit per referral
- no limit on referrals
- no limit on redemption
- multiple credits allowed per order
I referred 63 paying customers under those terms, and Chequp accepted every referral. They even liked and replied to referral comments on their own social media posts not just mine, but hundreds or even thousands of others. It was clear they encouraged this behaviour and benefited from it.
On 29 January 2026, Chequp retrospectively restricted redemption to one £50 credit per order, instantly reducing the value of credits that customers had already earned in good faith. This made ongoing treatment far more expensive overnight. Like many others, I had to consider reducing my dose purely for financial reasons, even though nothing clinically had changed.
When I raised concerns about the fairness and impact of this retrospective change, the response I received was extremely disappointing. Instead of addressing the issue, I received a letter directly from Chequp’s CEO accusing me of potential “misuse” of the referral scheme. These accusations had never been raised during the months I was actively referring people and only appeared after I complained which felt unprofessional and unexpected, especially coming from the CEO of a company that publicly promotes how supportive and customer‑focused they are.
The CEO also requested personal information about my relationships with the people I referred, despite this never being part of the original terms and having no relevance to the service.
Meanwhile, I reviewed Chequp’s own posts and found hundreds of public referral comments from other customers doing exactly the same thing I did, many of which Chequp had liked or acknowledged. Yet I was the only one contacted in this way after raising concerns.
Overall, my experience is that Chequp:
- changed the terms of a financial scheme retrospectively
- created sudden financial barriers to ongoing treatment
- responded to a legitimate concern with accusations from the CEO
- requested personal information that had not previously been required
- applied rules inconsistently and selectively
- overlooked widespread identical behaviour they had previously approved
I had hoped for transparency and fairness, but instead encountered defensive behaviour when raising a genuine concern. I’ve since had to escalate the matter to multiple regulators because of the impact on continuity of care, governance, and consumer fairness.
I also tried to resolve this through CEDR, the independent mediator Chequp directs customers to. Before receiving the recent letter from the CEO, Chequp had already told me their position was final, so I raised a formal dispute with CEDR. After waiting a month, my case was rejected coincidentally just one day before the CEO sent me the letter accusing me of “misuse.”
Given the timing and the way this has been handled, I’m extremely disappointed. Instead of addressing a legitimate concern, the situation has been met with responses that felt defensive and unfair.
Because of this, I’ve had no choice but to escalate the matter to the appropriate regulators in the hope that at least one of them will take a more professional and balanced approach.
Really good practical advice and a clear understanding of my position. Lots of suggestions and information specific to my needs.

It’s now just under a year since I started my weight loss journey. The weight came off gradually, and there were times when I didn’t lose anything at all. Throughout it all, Kirsten’s support has been a huge part of my success. She has been there for me during both the good and challenging times and has always kept me focused and motivated.
