I am so frustrated with this pharmacy
I am so frustrated with this pharmacy. I have a terminal illness and on a very expensive drug. They now require a signature for delivery. I told the agent this could be problematic for me as Im not always well enough to answer the door. I was told by this pharmacy agent that I could sign online (indirect signature) which is completely false. They, themselves, have placed a direct signature request for the carrier. Sure enough, an attempt on delivery was made and I wasn't able to answer the door. I live alone and have no one to help me with this.
I spoke to Centerwell and asked for them to allow an indirect signature but they refused. I have a neighbor who comes home from work late in the afternoon and can retrieve my delivery for me.
This cycle repeats itself 2 more times on delivery before being sent to a FedEx location for pick up which is an option that doesnt work for me.
Im at the mercy of my health as to whether I have the strength, energy and capability to answer the door that day. On my bad days, my O2 sat levels drop into the 60's with exertion even while on oxygen.
When open enrollment becomes available in the Fall, I plan on switching pharmacys and be done with this nightmare.
Can I give negative stars? Centerwell is that bad and I'll explain
After Humana repeatedly pressuring me to use their online pharmacy Centerwell (CW), I found it to be absolutely horrible on several counts that I will share.
I was told, and I see on other reviews, that one's co-pays will be lower using CW. This is simply false! I pay the same at CVS and formerly Rite Aid, and just yesterday paid LESS than CW for a one month supply rather than the equivalent three-month REQUIRED supply from CW for the same drug ($43 versus $157).
Convenience: again a big tick in the con box. They will send you refills without asking, including medications that were for a temporary period. Also they take forever (several days to a week) to fill new prescriptions after my doctor contacts them. I instead have my doctor call CVS and the meds are ready the same day and often before I even get home from the doctor! Other "brick and mortar" stores are likely the same, though my experience is with CVS and Rite Aid.
Security: In addition to packages left on the doorstep, when I tried to log on yesterday to cancel my service, I received a CW prompt that my password was compromised in a recent breach. That password (as all of mine) was unique to CW, meaning that the breach was CW! This was the first I heard about a breach. I never received a call (and I receive too many from them), not a text (I receive lots of those too), not an email (I get a fair share from CW) and not even a snail mail notification!
Customer Service: if you could give negative stars, they would earn them! I have called customer service many times, always put on a long hold and then usually get someone who has a hearing problem and can't get away from the CW script. When I go to CVS, I get real people and can talk to the actual pharmacist with any of my questions, even if I have to wait a few minutes for a pharmacist while they kindly help another customer.
When I call CVS I can usually get a real person within a minute, and if not I can leave a message and get called back within minutes. Good luck not memorizing the hold music and text during your long CW holds, assuming you even get a person while on hold; I've been disconnected from long holds several times!
Home delivery. They leave your meds, including regulated ones(!), on the doorstep without a knock or ring of the doorbell. Great security there CW. I've even had my meds delivered to the wrong address. And the delivery process usually takes several days. This is not convenient when you need a new med right after seeing a doctor.
And the marketing calls! Good grief the ongoing calls! If you should, God Forbid, fill a prescription anywhere but CW, they will text, and call you REPEATEDLY with a canned message that you should use them. They only could have attained this information from my Humana insurance. Can anyone spell out HIPPA? Yesterday it took me over an hour and several people to have my name, phone and text (same number but different CW databases and processes in case you ever need to do this too), and email removed from their system.
So I was taught to see both sides. Good parenting! However, I have nothing good to share about CW. I gave it some thought as I didn't want to seem so one-sided, but there are just no good qualities versus using a local pharmacy.

Not Ready for Prime Time
Not Ready for Prime Time: 1 hour and 59 minutes on the phone for a prescription —unacceptable
The concept of Centerwell Pharmacy is great in theory, but the execution is consistently frustrating. Today, I was forced to call because their online portal could not handle my prescription request. This began a nearly two-hour ordeal.
I called the number provided by Centerwell’s automated message, only for the representative to immediately try to transfer me to another department. I explained that I was calling the number they provided, so we began a grueling, redundant process.
The representative was polite, but the system she is forced to work with is primitive and inefficient. I was asked to recite my doctor’s name, address, and phone number—information that should have been instantly available since the doctor sent the prescription. Furthermore, at the initial part of the call I was asked to verify my insurance details, yet the representative was clearly able to access my account regardless. The initial verification process was pointless.
After over an hour and seventeen minutes, the representative finally realized the prescription was being shipped to my home address, despite the fact that I cannot self-administer the required injection. I had provided the correct physician’s office address nearly 20 minutes prior, but that information apparently gets shifted to another UI page that is inconvient for the representative.
What followed was a cascade of transfers:
I was told I had to be transferred to a clinician (at the 1-hour 17-minute mark).
11 minutes of waiting for a clinician.
19 minutes of waiting to be transferred to the medication provider.
By the time I reached the medication provider, they had no idea why I was even speaking to them. In total, this single interaction took 1 hour and 59 minutes.
No other pharmacy requires this level of struggle or robs customers of so much time. Centerwell needs to overhaul its internal computer systems and streamline its communication processes. Having to repeat basic data to multiple departments and enduring nearly two hours on the phone for a simple address correction is an unacceptable standard of service.
Eye Drops not received in a timely manner as promised
They tried to give me a generic eye medication which I was willing to pay for brand name per my Eye doctor’s request. This slowed the process up because they wanted another prescription. Had that provided to them on June 1, 2026 with supposedly a processing time of 3 -5 days. I was emailed that I would get it on June 16th. I would be out of my current bottle by then. Called daily the week of June 6th and they said it would be prioritize with no additional charge and I would receive it on the 11th. It is now June 13 and Fed Ex was not given overnight delivery instructions and I would get it on the 15th. Very poor communication and followthrough!
So many calls to CenterWell to get this RX correct and sent on time and it did not happen.
Centerwell is not a good choice
Where do I begin? It started about six months ago or more where they were so concerned about refills and bugging you also to change any you did not have them filling at another pharmacy. Then they went to wanting everyone to be on auto refills. Recently, I had a couple that I had not had under auto refills that were put on them. Prior to this I had contacted them and specifically said make sure I’m not at any auto refills because of my refrigerator items. They assured me that I was not. About a week ago they sent a refrigerated. that were put on them. Prior to this I had contacted them and specifically said make sure I’m not at any auto refills because of my refrigerator items. They assured me that I was not. About a week ago they sent a refrigerated auto refill and an another prescription. . They said that because my refrigerated item was a new prescription of the old already existing one that activated it to fill anyway, I explained that I did see it on auto refill prior to talking to them. They also acknowledge there was one other one that was on auto refill that I had not put on the first customer service person argued with me then I was connected to a pharmacy assistant who couldn’t help then I was connected to a pharmacist who couldn’t help all were saying that it wasn’t their fault. Somethings happened with this place because it never used to be like this, I think there’s a push for more refills and more money. I would say go ahead and stay with a pharmacy that’s local that you trust, that’s what I’m going to do now.
Ship refrigerated medicine in 5 days!
Centerwell has a habit of shipping my refrigerated medicine out on Thursday night and twice now, I haven't gotten it until Monday! I am not impressed and won't order from them again! Somebody needs to get their head out of their 🐎!
IT Department, Where Are You?
I have waited on hold for an hour one time and over 2 hours the next trying to get them to fix my problem accessing my account on the web and on the app since their last update 3+ weeks ago. I am now waiting for someone in their IT dungeon to call me back as no one has been able to correct problem. They have sent me down the same rabbit hole over and over again. Most of them were truly not listening or reading the notes from the previous call.

Ordered my husbands meds and they charged me the Medicare deductible plus the price of the med. Called they told we have to pay the deductible plus the cost. Humans showed the meds were 460.00 when I price checked and they charged us 691.00 plus 460.00. As far as I know I should have paid the 460.00 for the meds. Not happy!
Bait and Switch Pricing on GLP-1 Meds…
Bait and Switch Pricing on GLP-1 Meds -- My Doctor said Center Well Pharmacy has a flat rate of $199/mo -- I received that rate for 2 months then the price was raised to $349 a month- there is nothing on the site that discusses prices or promotional rates. - I called and was told that $199 is promotional rate for 2 months - then std rate is $349 - total bait and switch --
My account was placed on hold because a…
My account was placed on hold because a payment from February was apparently never processed. I was unaware of this at the time. Whenever I order my prescription, your representative charges the credit card you have on file and ships the medication. I did the same thing in February, March, April, and May.
If the February payment was not processed, I was never notified. As a result, when I ordered in June, I was told my account was on hold and had to pay both the February balance and the current month's payment to receive my prescription.
I do not feel this situation was handled properly. I also had difficulty communicating with customer service and was unable to speak with a supervisor despite requesting one.
This will likely be my last order. I can obtain the same medication at a lower cost through Trump RX using a coupon from my local grocery store.
If a supervisor would like to contact me directly, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter. I am hoping my prescription ships as promised after making the double payment on Thursday.
I will also be leaving a review regarding my experience.
This by far the most harrowing…
This by far the most harrowing experience I have had just to get meds. Stay away from this pharmacy. I ordered refills one of my BP meds and paid for it through a 4pay process via their preferred method, Afterpay. They required the first payment up front which paid in good faith. They respond about 5 days later that they could not reach my doctor for a renewal of the prescription. This is not true as my heart doctor called a week earlier that they had sent in the new script. Centerwell proceeded to cancel this order but only the part of the order for my BP meds. Finally, they set this med to order but then cancelled it again Stating they got another new prescription from my primary doctor. Then they wanted another $491 to refill it after I already paid for it. I have been going back and forth with support on this since May 26. Now I have one less BP med I need and going on vacation for 2 weeks. They now want me to wait 10-14 days to get a refund of the previous order, then re-order my med after that and pay for it. Now they want me to have my doctor call in a temp prescription to a local pharmacy. This is absolutely horrible experience. Mind you I also paid for expedited shipping because I was getting low. Ha ha that will never happen.
ordered meds 11 days ago
ordered meds 11 days ago. Paid extra for two day delivery. No meds yet. No knowledge on their end.
They Canceled my Order no explanation and no notification
My doctor had my medication sent through them. They canceled my order after I placed randomly with no explanation and no notification. I found out and tried using their website to contact customer support but it wont let me. I signed me out whenever I go to that page and then tells me I need to sign in to contact customer support. Then I go back to the medications page and I'm still signed it. Don't use them at all if possible
If you care about your health do not…
If you care about your health do not use Centerwell. The time it takes to ship your prescription is not acceptable. You will go for a period of time without meds. Maybe it's their processing maybe it's the delivery system but I ordered a month before I needed my prescription and they still didn't arrive on time. Their prices are not any better than using a local pharmacy where you can drive up and pick up your meds same day. I was quoted a price but was charged a drastically higher price.
Complaint Regarding Delayed…
Complaint Regarding Delayed Life-Sustaining Medication
CenterWell Pharmacy has provided extremely poor service regarding medication that I need to stay alive. I have been waiting for over a month for my prescription, despite calling every day to check on the status. Each time, I was told that I would receive it “in a few days,” but the medication never arrived.
Because of this delay, I had to go to the emergency room to get the medication, and I suffered a mini-stroke while without it. This situation is unacceptable and dangerous. A pharmacy should never delay life-sustaining medication to the point that a patient’s health is put at serious risk.
I am asking for an immediate explanation, accountability for what happened, and assurance that this will never happen again.
Stay away from these people
Stay away from these people. For the second time in a month it took 3 calls totalling almost an hour to get my previously scheduled medicine. Then they sent another medicine that I didn't order! Shame on you Humana!
JUST SAY NO TO THIS PHARMACY.
First time and last time using them.
Website sketchy..out of order so can not check..if you call them you are stuck talking to AI forever. A complete waste of time..A week to get meds is ridiculous...steer clear of here.

I would give Centerwell Parmacy if I could, but they don't accept 0 stars!
My doctor prescribed a specific medication, which it turns out has to be filled by Centerwell's Specialty Pharmacy. After 2 weeks of not receiving any calls, emails, etc., I called Centerwell Pharmacy. After getting through to their Specialty Pharmacy, I was told that they do not cover this medication. I asked why they did not tell me or Centerwell Pharmacy. Their response was: "That is not part of our process!"
I regret using Humana / Centerwell Pharmacy and will be switching in October to a company that is not so messed up!
