I've been using cellar rats for about 6 months now. Always great products with a luxury feel to the packaging. I look forward to my delivery each month to see what different wines I can taste. Wo... See more

You can’t unsubscribe without phoning up. Very, very shady. Also, they don’t exactly shout about the fact that you’re subscribing for wine that has been decanted into small bottles from full-siz... See more

What a shame! I thought this was a good idea. I haven't had a bad experience with the customer service, but the wine quality has been awful. Many leaking bottles and others, especially the reds, ferme... See more

They also charged me full price for a promotional month, *AFTER* also charging me the promotional amount. Essentially, this means you pay EXTRA if you take them up on their promotion.
Also, their usual price is £34.99 for 6x TINY bottles of wine. And it's not even that good!
This company sucks.
As many others
As many others - paid postage for a free trial box which never arrived and got charged for the next box already. 0% chance to get through to them
Bad Customer Service
So difficult to get hold of. Non responsive to queries nor inquiries. Phone number provided does not have anyone.
Massively avoid!!
Massively avoid!!! Once you sign up its incredibly hard to cancel the subscription. Unlike other companies this cancellation has to be done only on the phone and they basically never pick up.
Unable to Cancel Online - Anti-Consumer Behaviour
Despite their Ts&Cs saying cancellation can be done on their website, and there being a 'cancel subscription ' button clearly displayed. After clicking the link, declining option to skip a month, then declining £5 discount, then declining £10 discount, it finally showed me a screen telling me to call their customer services during office hours to cancel.
I had signed up for the monthly subscription with the discounted offer. Seems a good idea but 6x 1/4 bottles for £35 doesn't seem like a good deal so chose to cancel. I thought I might have reconsidered as £6 per medium glass is better than most pubs - but after seeing their scummy anti-consumer behaviour I will never give them my business again.
Also the initial box took over 2 weeks to arrive - coincidentally was dispatched the same day I found a phone number and spoke to someone (I had chased by email after 1 week and never got a response).
Crap experience, worse product
After ordering 3 months subscription as a gift to a family member, The company made them sign up with a payment card, this puts the duty on the gift receiver to cancel after 3 months. And Cellar Rats is one of those crap companies make it harder than it needs to be to do that. It must be via a phone call.
But more importantly the majority of the wine tastes like its been left open for 5 days. We have just opened a red wine together and it was fizzy, upon googling, this might be down to a 2nd fermentation happening in the bottle which is commonly due to poor handling and storage of the bottle.
Fantastic wine delivery
I'm not really sure why there is a large number of bad reviews. Their box subscription model is fantastic and I haven't seen anything else like it in the market. Fantastic wines, fantastic company.
Customer Service - Hit and Miss
Was positively surprised by the quality of the free (postage only) taster pack. Stayed on for three months and was billed on a bi-monthly basis (June and August), but never received the June shipment whatsoever and am only now due the August shipment after being billed nearly 10 days ago.
Overall, having attempted to reach customer service via email twice, then decided to ring them up after which I was promptly sorted with a refund for both billings.
Hoping their service improves as I wouldn't go so far as to call them a scam - as it really does not appear to be one.
Make it difficult to cancel
Just dont bother
Ordered the free box through Vodafone and like many others it never arrived after 2 weeks. Had no faith in further boxes being delivered so cancelled!! Many other wine subscriptions to choose from. Do not choose cellarrats.com
Same experience as many others
Same experience as many others - paid postage for a free trial box which never arrived despite showing as dispatch, no response to emails, can't find a phone number anywhere on their website. A scam. Intend to raise a dispute with my bank to get the cost of postage back.
Scam avoid at all cost
This is a pure scam you should avoid at all costs. Once you subscribe you cant cancel and you cant speak to them either.
Avoid this company!!
One star is too much!! This company is so ignorant when ypu message them. Ordered free wines to try with just £4.99 delivery to pay. Never received wine....even after 4 emails / whats app messages! and had to go through bank to get the £4.99 back (not much I know, but not the point from such a shocking company)
Absolute scam … I thought these…
Absolute scam … I thought these companies didn’t exist anymore they sign you up and then force you to call to cancel instead of allowing it online … avoid at all costs
Avoid
Avoid, I am not sure whether this company is a scam!
Ordered and paid postage for a trial box, this never arrived and no response from their customer services despite multiple emails when updates or refund requested.
Never received anything.

4 out of 6 bottles were off and tasted like vinegar.
Worst quality from any wine subscription service by a country mile
Poor value
Poor value, cheap wine and the only way to cancel your subscription is to call them - when you do call you join a queue and the call isn’t answered! Avoid at all costs
Avoid avoid avoid
Avoid avoid avoid. Ended up with a free box via Hello Fresh but had to sign up to a subscription to receive. The free box never arrived, emailed to discuss this and didn’t get a response (over 3 weeks!!). Called to cancel the subscription so I didn’t get charged and spoke to the rudest person. No opportunity to discuss reason for cancellation or anything, just “ok cancelled” and not even a goodbye. Poor service, poor communication. Just overall poor. Definitely (if I hadn’t mentioned) AVOID!
