I have a wonderful teachers, excellent place, but I had an inconvenience with the University we signed up for the extensive course, (1month) and one day before class star they did no have enough students, so is big ideal moving to Paris, rent an apartment and stay there just to have 2 hrs class a day.
So make sure when you signed up, the offer the course is appropriate for the expenses an the time you are going to be there.

Je vais vous parler en anglais. I am totally pleased with the patience and flexibility that the school has shown me when my plans kept changing. Very satisfied, especially since I was a student in the school over a half-century ago, an enrollment that kept me out of the Vietnam War at the time!

Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for me. In spite of the staff being nice, I took the intensive course to further my French, expecting conversational and practical in the lessons. I even called the school to clarify but that’s not what I got when I arrived. I was then told 3 days in that the course was actually focused more on furthering me for higher education through “writing” and that I should talk to my teacher, who wasn’t about to change the curriculum for me when she has an entire classroom of other students. Many of them were also disillusioned with what they were experiencing. I was told i’m one of the administrators that this was “probably not the school for me.“ Not to mention the money but I spent on an apartment and the cost of living to go to a school that couldn’t meet my needs of becoming more fluent in the language. I was told a refund would not be possible after 2 days of school in a 5 week course. Keep in mind, this is an independent facility and NOT actually part of the Sorbonne University. They only piggy back off the name. Buyer beware.

This is my second summer taking the course at CCFS in Paris and online as well. The teachers are great, well knowledgeable, energetic, very approachable and dedicated. The school staff are great, friendly and always willing to help as well. However, the communication and organization for the program are not as good. It is impossible to get on hold to someone by phone and emails are not replied in a decently time frame (if they are replied). I also don't think the course has a learning/teaching structure, so depending on the level of students in your class, we end up learning again things that you have learned in another level there. I also believe for a school that take students coming from others countries for a certain period, the courses should be planned ahead of time and should have dates, specific time and subjects ready to inform and clarify students (not within a week or 24 h before it), so we could plan and organize ourselves with our primary school, work, lodging and other activities before traveling mainly if we are begginers or first timers in Paris.... Therefore, I reinforce the high quality of teachers and staff but to carry the Sorbonne name, I think the entire programme should be reevaluated by the school board of directors.

I am enrolling in a course to learn French. By definition I cannot understand French, so a survey sent to me in French is useless.

Great a beautiful place, high-quality equipped, and installed. The administration was not so on top of things. some courses were GREAT, absolutely helpful, some others were really average.

It's extra cold in the auditoriums, also, there is not a single place where you can sit and wait between classes. There is no outlet for charging a phone in the whole building. Phone connection is the worst and wi-fi does not work either. Teachers end classes 10-15 min before the time, which is about 10 hours in total throughout the whole semester. There is not a single person who welcomes you and explains a little bit in the first few days. You just directly go to the auditorium upon arrival.

I am very satisfied with the experience until now (my first class day is the next March 21. I have had immediate or fast answer to any of my questions about the enrollment in the course or any kind of questions during this time previous to the classes.

GREAT experience. Very knowledgeable teacher, entertaining and engaging. The virtual format is working really well and I like the combination of grammar and phonics. Highly recommend!

The professor was 15-20 min late everyday. They were never prepared for class and constantly reviewed the same material. There were no chances for natural discussion or creative writing to practice grammar and vocabulary. The tests weren’t graded in a timely manner and the books we purchased for class were never used. I believed when I started the class that my level would be much better than now due to the high cost of the course but I was left disappointed and hoping that I wouldn’t have the same grammar professor as the fall semester. The phonetics teacher was excellent.

Expert and encouraging instruction in a newly renovated building in the center of Paris. Administrative support could not be better. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend if you are serious about learning/improving in French.

Not all the information can be found in English (my French is not good enough yet). Otherwise, everything is working fast and simple. Got a prompt confirmation upon booking my French course!

I signed up for the 4 week online course and it was cancelled the day the course was supposed to start. I live in North America and the course would have been running between 5-10am the day they cancelled. I had written multiple emails and was finally told on the Friday before the course started Monday that I would know before the end of the weekend what my schedule was/if the course was running. They didn’t let me know until Monday afternoon after the course would have been completed for the day. When I finally received my refund they waited until the exchange rate had changed and I ended up getting $40 less back than I paid for the course. So I paid $40 to be disappointed. I had signed up planning to take the in person course in February 2022. I am no longer interested in taking courses through Cours de civilisation française de La Sorbonne.

Update: After contacting CCFS as requested in their response below for a refund on the money lost due to the exchange rate they did not refund any money. They took 2 weeks to respond. Why say that if it’s not possible? If I could give negative stars I would.
