It’s Fall and I’m still awaiting my Summer Intro I Box…

I’m still awaiting my Summer Intro Box I. They claim that the shipping info was never scanned and that is why I never received my box. Well, it’s Fall now. And 2.5 months later and I have yet to receive an initial box or a Fall annual box. I keep getting told that a tracking no. will be sent soon and nothing has been sent my way. Worst $150+ ever spent. Will report to this scam to the BBB and I want a full refund!

We can certainly confirm your order was shipped out from the fulfillment center on August 11th via FedEx. When you notified us the box was not received, we looked into the tracking information. According to the tracking information, the shipping label was never scanned, and therefore tracking was never activated. Typically when this occurs it indicates the package was lost by the courier some time after pick up. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing this until we are contacted, and certainly understand how frustrating that can be! I can assure you we requested a replacement box be shipped out the day we were informed, and I see that box is currently making its way to you and should be at your doorstep tomorrow. We hope you enjoy!

They never sent my shipment I paid for. When I disputed the information with my credit card company they provided untrue tracking information. They admitted in email communication to me that they know I never received the merchandise. They are liars do not use this company!

Good customer service

So I signed up for the Fall box because I wanted the PMD face cleanser and got it in teal! I got that silicone lids (meh), HA facial oil, a cleansing sponge which I thought was a weird add on with the brush tbh, and a cute tote. I probably wouldn't get another box unless there was another item I *really* wanted. But I have to give good credit to their customer service team who refunded me because I was an hour late cancelling my subscription renewal. It says no refunds but they accommodated me since it wasn't in the fulfillment process yet and that was much appreciated!

I only ordered the summer 2020 box because the Instagram ads said it came with the PMD face cleanser tool...
And I ordered in early June! Didn’t receive my box until mid August and did it come with the PMD cleanser?!??
HECK TO THE NO IT DIDN’T!!

It came with some $25 hyaluronic acid serum (HA is a terrible serum for long term use, it’s an ingredient meant to be a short term plumper for the skin, so good to use for a date or photos, but isn’t necessarily doing to make your skin better in the long term),
Some really cheap flimsy feeling silicone bowl covers (their MSRP was cheap too)
A giant fake leather wallet clutch/organizer thing? Meant to hold your iPad, notes, phone, cards, etc. It’s priced at $120, even though it clearly says it was made for Causebox — so I’m going to guess it isn’t being sold for even half that price...
A double stacking bento box (which was my favorite item in the box)
And lastly, a super overpriced pink konjac face sponge.

....definitely not worth the $50+ asking price... and barely worth the $25 I spent...

I’m very upset I let myself get sucked into the advert...
The advert had a nice crossbody purse, the PMD cleanser, a cool little letterboard so you can have quotes etc displayed....

Really bummed out.

We actually had several different boxes this past Summer Season including our original core Summer '20 Box (which sold out on May 19th) as well as our Welcome Boxes and Intro Boxes, and we are sorry to hear of any confusion as to which box you may have purchased. If we sell out of a box in the middle of a season, there will always be a banner at the top of of our homepage, as well as our purchase page, which will indicate the exact box for sale at the time of purchase. Additionally, the items included in the current box for sale will always be listed on the homepage of our site so that potential customers who are thinking about joining can choose whether or not they would like to purchase the current box for sale. This allows potential customers to self-select and purchase, based on the items in that particular box. We do certainly hope you were able to enjoy most of the items in the box you received, and hope you loved learning about all of the amazing causes the products supported.

Absolutely worth it

This was my first cause box, and I loved everything in it!
Every product is functional and great quality. I received the pink Clay Sponge- Amazing- I used my normal face cleanser and it worked so much better- my face felt so clean. Also received the Grace and Stella Hyaluronic Acid serum- so nice my face looked so soft and healthy. Love my stackable bento box, already had one in purple now I have a gray for my husband. If you do not have one of these you need one they are so convenient. I have been looking at the silicone stretch lids and they were in the box! So nice I love them much easier than foil or plastic wrap. and the frosting on this tasty cake- the Glass Ladder & Co Megan Portfolio - this alone is worth the box. This is perfect it fits my surface pro and all of it's accessories phone work phone. This is yet another amazing product I didn't even know I needed in my life. I have tried several boxes- this is absolutely worth it and is now my favorite box service.

I really wanted to support this…

I really wanted to support this business because I think they have a great cause but my experience with them has been shady. I have multiple subscription boxes to include Boxycharm, Ipsy, and FFF. I placed my order on 5/16 and received a confirmation email saying shipping starts mid-June-Great so far. Mid July comes around and nothing, still awaiting shipment. Shipping for the summer box says they will be shipped by July.-interesting but they say COVID delays with shipping. I can understand that although I’m disappointed in the wait. There is bigger things in the world going on in comparison to this box. Come August I still am awaiting shipment. I log into their social media site and find that this has been an issue with multiple people who have reached out and got very basic generic responses to their inquiries on a box they paid for in early May but people who ordered welcome/intro boxes ordered in late May to the end of June have already received their box. (Which I’m happy for them) Regardless, that tells me that shipping isn’t the problem due to covid. It’s a warehouse and company problem in the planning of fulfillment. They seem to be more about quantity over quality. I reached out and got a very generic response about covid and “you’ll love the box” yeah I’m sure I would if I can just get it shipped. I paid for the box almost 3 months ago and nothing. The small amount of information I have received of the continued delay in shipment has been because I sought out the information. They have terrible communication, don’t give direct responses, and no accountability. I cancelled my subscription. Thank god I only signed up for a quarterly subscription and not an annual like I have with FFF.
Like I said, I really wanted to support this business and hopefully they can prioritize their customer service and order fulfillment in the future.

While we worked with our brand partners and fulfillment teams to safely deliver Summer Boxes this past season, we found it especially important to support decisions that protected the health and livelihood of the makers of the beautiful and unique products included — even if that meant accepting a delay from one of our longtime artisan partners that extended our shipping timeline beyond our initial projection for the Summer Box, due to a product included. Of course, anyone affected by this received continual shipping updates via email.

One of the things that we value, but that also makes our mission a bit more challenging, is that we’re able to work with and support smaller and up-and-coming brands and artists. Every single product that we share, whether through our seasonal CAUSEBOX or in the Add-On Market, is thoughtfully and sustainably made, and often times in smaller batches. It is because of this that we’re able to support rising stars — but it is also because of this that our seasons can occasionally be longer and is the case that shipping timelines can be affected within a season as changes that arise lead to a greater impact than that which can occur when dealing with larger companies.

Excellent customer service!

I've been super happy with the quality of product and customer care I have received from Causebox. I am an annual subscriber and have received two boxes so far as well as a number of products from the Summer Market. My most recent box, however, was unfortunately lost at some point after delivery. Upon reaching out to the Causebox help desk, they immediately opened a case with Fedex on my behalf, as well as reassured me that if it turned out the box had been stolen, they would absolutely replace. After nothing came from the Fedex outreach, they immediately responded and sent a new box out to me. Thank you for your kind and courteous communication throughout the process, Causebox! I can't wait to receive my box in the mail.

Great Experiences

I’ve gotten 3 Causeboxs. The have never been disappointing. The negative reviews are suspect. There is the annual Subscription and the quarterly. I have the annual. Never an issue. Quarterly means just that. It’s every 3 months or so. If you aren’t patient subscription boxes aren’t for you. I’ve loved everything I’ve ever received ! You are getting phenomenal deals and you can’t expect a million dollar product for 199 a year. They are quality and it’s a worthy effort.

My first box resulted in an unhappy and negative experience. Not sure what happened with quality control on my first shipment but my second shipment was a gamechanger!

I received:

SWELL water bottle, a must have as it really does keep your drinks cold for 24 hours!

A vegan PIXIE MOOD crossbody. Great quality and beautiful sage color. Perfect for fall!

My favorite item is the ALTCOOKING silicone stretch lids! Goodbye plastic waste. These treasures come in a variety of sizes and are stretchy enough to accommodate most bowls. I highly recommend it!

Oh, I lied...I had two favorite items in the box. The PMD CLEAN battery-operated facial scrub is out of this world. Easy to use and clean. I've been known to use it at the end of the day for a gentle face massage while reading or watching NF.

There were other full-size beauty products in the box that I'm indifferent too. I'm happy with my current plastic-free products and don't have the desire to try anything new. That said, it's nice to have a back-up for guests, travel, or a gift.

My second box was the actual cute box used for marketing. As silly as it is, I was so happy to get this artistic box in the mail. Way better than the beat-up brown cardboard I got the first time. I will be using these boxes to store my art supplies. With all the yuck in the world, seeing this box brightened my day!

All in all, I was way happier with the second delivery. Thank you CAUSEBOX for replying to my nasty review and reminding me to update it with something positive. It's been on my to-do list for several weeks.

I can't say I will be renewing my annual subscription as some of the items aren't anything I need or want. That said, it is delightful to get the box and have a little light in the world. You can't beat the price for some of the cool items you receive.

Here's hoping I don't have any more bad experiences.

I removed my previous negative review. I think my first shipment slipped through the cracks. Realistically, we all have bad days and stuff happens. I'm hoping CAUSEBOX learns from the experience and enhances quality control.

If you are intrigued with the CAUSEBOX concept, I recommend giving them a try. I've been introduced to products I would have never purchased in a store. If you have a bad experience, give them a second chance. It's worth it!

Great value! Question the negative reviews.

I've received two boxes to date, and both are a great value! I find many of the negative reviews questionable. After I subscribed for the spring box, I was notified that the regular box had run out, so I would receive a special Welcome Spring box. There was no bait and switch. The products are shipped in a colorful quality box, not a brown box. If someone already knows packages are stolen in their area, they should make alternate delivery arrangements, not blame Causebox. It's likely Causebox has a limited staff to respond to inquiries, while charges to credit cards usually go through automatically. I've subscribed to other boxes. Causebox is the best deal!

This is some serious bait and switch

This is some serious bait and switch. Don’t expect to be able to customize anything with an upgrade. They also tell you you’ll be able to customize certain items and then later switch it to other items. I know that some changes might be necessary but it just seems super shady, untruthful, and inconsistent. Their customer service blames you anytime there an issue (you should know your new address before you even know you’re moving - instead they could have just said, Sorry, it’s too late to update the address for this delivery etc). Super disappointing.

This is the best subscription box out…

This is the best subscription box out there. The products are excellent quality, packaging is top notch, communication quick and pleasant. The summer box is the best yet, the products get better and better. I am 70 and most subscription boxes don't cater to this age group, that is the beauty of the box, ie it fits a 17 year old girl and a 70 year old grandmother. Keep up the good work Causebox!

Shady Business Practices

I signed up for Causebox in early May with a $30 discount for an Intro box (total cost of $24.99). I waited, and nothing shipped per the timelines on their site. In late May, I emailed and asked when I would be receiving the box I had ordered for $24.99. The Rep. advised that I had actually ordered the Summer box, and it would be shipped in mid-late June. In Mid-June, I was charged $54.99. Again, I contacted Causebox, and was told that there had been an error. I had initially paid for an Intro box for $24.99 that had still not yet shipped (but was being prepared for shipment), and the $54.99 was for the Summer box. Oddly, the Rep. offered to refund my Intro box cost, and cancel my Intro. box. I requested cancellation and refund of the Intro. box charge, and I also requested cancellation of the Summer box and a refund of that charge, and total cancellation of my subscription due to my concerns about their disorganization, communications error, and the fact that I felt like I was dealing with a bait and switch situation. I also disputed the $54.99 charge with my bank. Causebox responded that they had refunded my $24.99, but could not refund my cost for the Summer box, because they had just shipped it (no surprise there...more shadiness, in my opinion).
After I griped some more about their errors, disorganization, and poor initial communication, they sent me a label to return the Summer box, after which they would refund my $54.99, which was nice. When I checked my account, however it was still active dispite two emailed requests for them to cancel it. I then had to send a third email telling them to cancel it, and confirm in writing to me, and that I did not authorize any future charges from them, and any that came through would be reported to my bank as unauthorized and disputed. After all that, they finally canceled my subscription. They have a great mission, and the products look great, but with their dishonest and shady business practices, I will never subscribe to their box again. I have never had these kinds of issues with FFF.

Very Upset, charged twice but no product still!

I have been charged twice and still haven’t received anything! I have tried to call however they don’t talk to people on the phone! So, I’ve been emailing which is very annoying because it’s so time consuming. They said a package was delivered however we’ve been having problems with packages not making it to us and packages being stolen therefore I don’t know what happened to it I still haven’t received anything from them and now I’ve gotten a second charge! I’ve explained how upsetting this is! It’s not my responsibility to find out why I didn’t get it! I paid for it! It’s their responsibility to make sure I receive their causebox which I’ve been charged for twice!
