Self Care While Caring for Others
I have been subscribed to CAUSEBOX since Fall 2018 and I can't even begin to explain the sheer JOY that this subscription box gives me! When I first heard about CAUSEBOX I was very intrigued by their mission and ethical impact. I thought it was so cool that I could indulge myself with self care products while helping others and the planet. Little did I know that I would absolutely fall in love with everything about this subscription box. From the products, to the causes, to the artists (each box is designed by an artist and includes a postcard by the same artist), to the add-on marketplace; I was hooked. I can safely say that CAUSEBOX products are a part of my daily life, from the coffee cup I use in the morning to the blanket I snuggle up with on the couch after a long day, I'm enjoying my CAUSEBOX goodies. On top of all that, the customer service I have received has been amazing. Every question or concern I've had has been followed up on promptly and courteously. Obviously, I can't say enough good things about CAUSEBOX! I look forward to my box so much each season and can't wait to see what the future holds for this awesome company.
Happy to have found this company.
I have never been let down when I received my causebox. As a matter of fact, I become so excited when it shows up. Love the products that I receive. Being part of this company knowing that I am helping others out is heartwarming to me. In this crazy world that we live in, helping each other out around the world is all we can do. Showing the human side of each one of us. And this is what needed for all of us. Times will get better if we stand together as one. Thank you to all that is part of this community.

Wednesday saved my life and helped me get my picks in after I missed the window. She was timely and effective and showed me even further why I LOVE causebox as a company :)
Incredible experience every time!!
Every time I reach out to Causebox support, it's always a wonderful experience with Causebiox support- Raven was incredibly helpful with changing my shipping address, and I really appreciated Kelsey reaching out to change my shipping address for my Market order, as well!
Exceptional
Exceptional! Timely, detailed, helpful and respectful. It was my error and the customer service I received was beyond my expectations. Thank you!

I’ve been subscribing for a couple years now and have never received an item I didn’t like. Causebox truly represents the brands and values that I’m looking to support. Their customer support team are always responsive and helpful. Great company!
Oh causebox
Oh causebox, how much I wanted to love you.
I was with fabfitfun before and I wanted to try something else that meant something more (also was getting too much makeup for how much I used).
I liked the idea of causebox sourcing items from less fortunate villages that can use our help. So I was pretty sad at the amount of items that were made in china. I'm sure that china has these rural villages that can use the help, but some items looked like they were factory made - don't get me wrong, still cute! - but the idea was to help whoever was making this.. the families making things.
I was hoping that causebox would source more things in their own backyard. There are so many indigenous and below poverty line villages in America's that I think would mean so much more. There are items that came in the box that promotes environmentally friendly lifestyles, you know what's not environmentally friendly? Sourcing products from across the globe that requires fuel and emit emissions so we can get a set of bowls from China.
Last thing that sealed the deal for me was the fall 2020 box. I got a robe in mint green that I was so excited for. And it didn't fit. I'm a size 16 and it wasn't fitting not even close. I know I'm not the smallest but if you are curating a box for everyone you should know that subscribers come in all shapes and sizes. I wish I was atleast warned so I could've swapped for the towels instead. Now I'm stuck with this robe hanging on my door that tells me I'm fat and I feel guilty tossing it because I spent so much on these boxes and this was definitely the most valuable item in this month's.
Anyway, I have one more box to be delivered to me, but I have canceled my subscription to find something with more local products.
Honestly its not worth the money
Honestly its not worth the money. Although there website says you can cancel any time....this is not true. If you sign up for the annual subscription you are lock into the year. The boxes are not worth $200. The selection is super limited and I often end up with products you dont want.
I got the same two items in my first 2 boxes. I am honestly just waiting for my subscription to be over.
It's a nice idea but I dont think the company is very transparent. I believe most of my items come from china.
Very Disappointing
From the beginning, I should have known this was too good to be true.
I was considering signing up for the annual subscription if I liked my first box. Especially since I realized that only annual subscribers can customize their box or use the add-on marketplace. But I wanted to try just one box first.
Well, first of all, my subscription was set to automatically renew before my first box had even shipped (sketchy!!!), so I had to cancel it. I ordered on 11/15 and it didn't ship until 12/11. I am the ONLY employee in my company and even during the pandemic I haven't waited that long to ship items, so I don't believe this is acceptable.
Secondly, since you can't customize your box, I ended up with three items I probably won't use. The ads say every box has over $200 worth of stuff, but I wouldn’t pay $50 for all three of these items combined. I guess I'm glad I got them in a $26 box. The water bottle and face brush have no discernable differences from similar items I've gotten cheaply from amazon. I was really expecting more. The box even included a card that mentioned a "bathrobe and towel set" but I only got a bathrobe. Not sure if that was a fluke or on purpose. The bathrobe is flimsy and does not fit (even before washing- apparently it shrinks. Hooray!) , since they didn't bother to ask clothing size.
In the ads, the box is always chock full of awesome-looking stuff, but my box really fell flat. I imagine it might be better if you have an annual subscription, but given the way they treat people who either can't afford an annual subscription or want to try ONE box before committing, I highly doubt it.
All of this is not to mention the fact that they talk a big game about how they "sustainably" support "global artisans" but 2/3 of the items in my box were mass-produced. Suuuuure. Good job.
I wanted to like causebox, but I won't be back. Sorry.
Not quite
Yes it seems like a good plan - sustainable items you can explore but Causebox inflates what you receive. A very scammy feel. My first was the Fall 2020 and for the price, only receiving 3 items I could easily get somewhere else was a bummer. It took forever to get my order but I guess it was do ton Covid.
Buyer beware, Causebox has no refund or return policy. Your money is gone if you aren't happy with their products.
This is what I wrote to them on Facebook.
Hello, I received my welcome box with brown gold Swell bottle, a faded green robe and the PMD cleaner today. I am extremely disappointed. Your promo and videos make it sound amazing which is why I ordered, but if these are the types and colors of products that you sell then Causebox is not for me. I cancelled my subscription. I noticed there was no receipt in the box, so sent an email to your Help, but decided to look on your website at the FAQ's. WHAT A HORRIBLE SHOCK TO FIND OUT THAT YOU WILL NOT REFUND A SUBSCRIPTION!!!! I paid $162.00 for products which I do not wish to receive because if your other boxes are like this one I received, they are useless to me. I AM BEYOND BELIEF THAT BEFORE SUBMITTING CAUSEBOX DOES NOT STATE BOLDLY THAT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS. Had I known this I would have never ordered from you. Causebox should have a statement large print before you confirm your order confirming that you are aware this is non-refundable if you are unhappy with your products. This is NOT a fairer kinder or ETHICAL policy, it is taking of people's money before providing a product that they may or may not be happy with. Any organization that stands behind their products should offer a refund. I do a lot of purchasing online and any seller that does not offer refunds ALWAYS has a very obvious statement that there are no refunds, some even twice before purchasing, so that the customer is very clear their money has gone good bye forever.
BTW, the PMD cleaner may have a retail price of $100, but you can buy it on Ebay for $40 ( I can't include the link here) and also return it for a refund within 30 days. As far as I'm concerned Causebox has a great racket going here.
Hopefully enough people will view this post and not lose their money.
There is no Good Cause!!
Ok my box went from $49,99 to €85 but that is my fault since I didn't check the VAT situation buying from the US to Ireland using AddressPal. My problem with this box is that it is supposed to support small businesses and artisans directly, all of the stuff I've received was MADE IN CHINA! There is one item made in Canada but I've never heard about any out-of-control poverty problems in CANADA! There is absolutely no way for them to monitor or know honestly what are the conditions those items are being made in China. So is just another subscription box; there is no good cause behind it!
Edit 2026: The termo bottle, face brush and bowls I've got were great quality, and I still have them. I'm glad they have changed the name and overhauled the business instead of selling some cause that was clearly not real.

I have received two boxes so far and I am super happy and impressed with them. The products are sustainable and relevant. I love that they include the background of each product, how it was made and by whom!

Some of the boxes were amazing with great items- other items “MADE IN CHINA”
The biggest issue is how you auto-renew this without allowing people to manually accept or deny such an expensive subscription. Sneaky way to make more money without proper notification to your customers. Will be canceling the auto renewal TODAY.
I just received my first cause box
I just received my first cause box! I love everything in it! I am in love with the serum and massager. My face is glowing and softer than ever. I am almost 58 ! I have tried everything in the market, and I mean 300 $ items. I am so elated that I did not listen to all the negative reviews. Just in the past week I have told at least ten people to check it out! Also, did a bit of shopping on the open market. My only complaint is the slow customization of the box ! One item at a time?
Very impressed. My first box was worth more than the entire four boxes. Happy Maggie
Great products and support great causes!
I have been a customer for over a year. I love the subscription as well as the market. I've purchased a lot of great things for myself and for friends and family. The products are awesome and they also support great causes, so it's a win-win. I recently had a small hiccup with an order and they resolved it super quickly and the process was so smooth. I truly feel like this is a great group and they've shown they value my business! :)
Not even close to worth it
I was very excited to get this box only to be left extremely disappointed. I recieved my fall intro box this afternoon and I was really looking forward to it. I did get everything I customized which was a plus but the quality of everything was absurd.
I havent tried the pmd clean and I wont for the simple fact I dont like using stuff like that on my face so I wont be able to give a review on that and it will be gifted to my sister but I knew this going into it.
The nesting bowls were MUCH smaller than I had anticipated. They are cute, I'll give them that but pretty much useless in my opinion. The terrible part though is they were clearly returned. The box was cut open with a box cutter!
The nesting containers were the WORST. They were USED AND DIRTY! Grease filmed the top of the lid and specs of food were all over them. YUCK!
When I decided to subscribe to this box it was mostly for the cause that I THOUGHT they stood for - helping small businesses and those in need. However! The reusable cotton rounds say "made in china" VERY clearly on the tags. I'm sure the factory workers that made and boxed these were paid fairly and treated very well. Yes. That was thick with sarcasm. So much for cause worthy products.
As for the serum, I'm always hesitant and do research before using a product directly on my skin and I'm so glad I did. The serum seems very thin and has a very strong scent (smells a lot like pledge to me). Upon further research I learned that most of the "serum" is just essential oils! They even recommend adding your own essential oils if you dont like the scent! Excuse me?!? This is not okay.
The swell bottle seems to be okay but does not make up for the rest of the box. I basically paid $50 for a water bottle here. 🙄
Sorry I ordered, won’t renew membership.
Ordered, wish I hadn’t. It’s ok. Ordered add-on items. 20 days later and nothing has shipped yet and no expected delivery date is provided. You are told, good things come to those that wait. Screw that, I don’t want to wait months to get what I already paid for. Why don’t add-on items ship in a reasonable time? Will not renew, with all the options out there, skip this one.
Wouldn’t Buy Again
My first box from causebox and I am not that impressed. The towels are flimsy, cotton rounds are ok but who wants to wash & reuse, no information on ingredients in the serum. The bamboo tray and utensils are nice and the star lantern is ok. Definitely not worth $50. Very disappointed. Now I’m locked in to a year subscription. Advertising was deceptive when it said cancel anytime. Yeah, anytime after your year expires. Ripoff!
