Terrible Company & Terrible Business Practice.

I agreed a sale at the price quoted. I waited 24 hours fr them to send me the Freepost Label as stated, sadly no label and no comms from them.
After 72 hours I saw on the website that I could take the item to the Post Office and they would assist. Sadly they cant as they do not have the CashGadget freepost chrystal ball. So, I went down the final option route (as stated on the website) and posted it to them at their business address, at my expense.
Royal mail tried delivering twice but Cash Gadget staff refused the item both times. Apparently, if any delivery to them does not have "Their" label it is company policy to refuse the delivery because that is how "the AI Business Systems Work", as was explained to me in the numerous email exchanges between us. UTTER ROLLOCKS to be honest.
I now have a brand new Apple Watch wandering around the UK because a jobsworth could not be arsed to accept a legitimetely labelled packet to their company, who had agreed the purchase.

Watch this company - high offer but once have goods reduce price!

In response to this organisations reply, I have asked for a copy of the ‘video evidence’ but not received anything yet. Very quick to respond when they have your item but not so quick in responding to this request.

Received quote on line for £20 for an IPOD. Was the highest offer I found. The IPOD was brand new never been used and was a replacement for a faulty product a few years ago, but I never used it.

Following almost a week from delivery, i get told it’s got a faulty battery and now is only grade E so offer reduced to £5.20, but if I don’t like the offer I must pay £5 for them to return the item!

All very suspicious and convenient for them!!

Customer sent in an iPod Nano 6th Gen (An item that has not been manufactured by Apple for 5 years). The iPod was fully charged and then, upon test, was found to have a faulty battery. The battery lasted less than 1 minute. When these iPods are brand new the battery lasts up to 24 hours. The customers response was that we should accept the faulty battery and try to "condition" it. The customer stated that they had never used the iPod therefore it couldn't be faulty. Items are sold brand new that are faulty all the time. Had the customer simply checked the iPod they would have seen the fault and received the correct quote. Video evidence was also taken of the fault. As a result the item was not in working condition and therefore was in Grade E - faulty condition. When an item is miss representative of its condition we ask the customer to pay to have the item returned as it has already cost us money in postage, packaging and time to receive the item. In this case the £5 wouldn't have even covered our postage costs.

Hide things in terms and conditions - you've been warned

This company provided the best quote of the ones I checked for recycling my old iPad and were pretty quick in sending out a postage kit, processing the order and sending the payment through. HOWEVER make sure you read the terms and conditions first - hidden in these was a term that all iPads need to be sent with their charger, which was not pointed out at any point during the order process, and which I obviously didn't send. Of course they kindly knocked £15 off the price I received for the privilege. If you must sell your stuff to these cowboys, make sure you read the terms and don't give them the chance to reduce the quote you've been given.

Hello Ellie
I am sorry that you were not happy with your experience of using Cash My Gadget. We do not hide anything with regards the the simple case of an iPad requiring a charger. Any battery powered device that is traded in with us is required to have its charger and/or cable sent with it. This is a basic of any trade in as the charger is a vital part of the item. If you had purchased the iPad from us and we did not send the charger i highly doubt that you would be happy. An iPad cannot operate without being charged.
As an aside we always recommend that people do read our terms and conditions. We also point out that that the iPad requires the charger on our grading screen which we also recommend people read.

Great service - Prompt and Reliable

I used Cash My Gadget to sell my mid-2009 13-inch Macbook Pro. The website gives a quote on how much the gadget is worth based on different criteria (grade of gadget, RAM, processor speed, etc). I found the quote to be the best one among other websites. I picked a date for a courier to pick it up, which they did. I then received updates on the status of my laptop (received, testing in progress, passed for payment). One downside was that the requirement is for UK keyboard, whereas mine was US so I got the price knocked down but it was still a decent amount. They did email me to inform of the price change and if I was okay with it. I received the money within the same week that my Macbook got picked up by the courier.

Overall, great service. Would definitely recommend.

Does exactly what it says on the tin - great service

I found the cash my gadget service to cash in a 2007 model iMac on having looked at the apple one and mac2cash. Cash my gadget offered the best price, and on the minor suspicion that it could be some sort of elaborate scam, called the phone number prior to my iMac being collected to check that someone picked up. They did answer quickly and answered my questions about packaging, and the parcelforce chap collected it on the correct day. Within 24 hours from collection I started received regular emails from cash my gadget informing me the status of my iMac (received, in test, test complete, processing payment), then the next day one final email saying complete, and the full amount quoted was in my account.

I have found this service to be fast, reliable, trustworthy and I would use it again. Thanks!

Second time around...

This is the second time I've used CashMyGadget and I'm still very impressed.

Item details plugged into the sales process, despatched via Royal Mail and arrived - freepost - the following day. The process of evaluation started that afternoon and today, one day on, CMG made me an improved offer which I accepted. Payment received within one hour.

Well done Nick and thank you. I'll be back.

3 Weeks On and Not Received Payment!

They have had my ipod over 3 weeks now and my status states they are still testing it. I spoke with a representative at their office on Monday 1st September 2014 name of Tony who told me I would hear from them by the close of business but almost 2 weeks on I am still waiting. There promise of prompt payment is false.

Disgusting company!!!

Sent my ipod in, they said they never received it, spoke to a really annoying and rude employee on the phone about it and basically was told it was my fault!! Everything else I sent out that day and since to other company's has always arrived, I think I have been ripped off basically and the customer support off them is shocking!! Do not use this company!

This was a really quick, easy and hassle free service, would thoroughly recommend

I was really impressed by how easy this process was, and the freepost return address was an added bonus. The communications from the company were clear and easy to understand, and you were well informed at each stage of there process. I found the automatic payment to my bank was very helpful as well. Great experience, would think about using them again in the future.

Brilliant service

I used cash my gadget and I was really happy with the service I received. They kept me up to date with what was happening with the item I had sent to them and when it had been checked, the money was received in around 24 hours into my bank account. It is the first time I have used Cash my Gadget but I would certainly recommend it to friends and family and I will certainly use it again.

great communication , the best i've had from a company that buys gadgets thanks!

I used cash my gadget to sell some I pods some working some damaged, it was so quick and simple to do no hassle at all, if for any reason what I had told them wasn't correct (1e the wrong generation) they are quick to contact you to let you know and re calculate what they will pay you.. I feel what they offer is a great price and they send out the envelope to post the item all you have to do is pop it in the post and wait for your money to hit your paypal account

Customer service is shocking.

I sent in my laptop which was in good condition and a small circle burn on the screen which was only visible when tilting the screen to side. The company then preceded to take £120 off the value of the laptop and gave me the ultimatum of either taking the £120 less money or pay £35 to get the laptop back. This is simply unacceptable and shocking customer service. I am extremely annoyed and will not be returning here. The manner in which the advisers talk is also unsatisfactory, the customer does not seem to be the focal point.

Hi Stuart,

You sent in a MacBook Pro 15" laptop in "Grade A" condition, specified by our site as:

"Your device is very clean and tidy, with no visible scrapes and scratches. It looks as good as new. All components are working correctly and there are no mechanical or cosmetic defects on the unit. This includes video, screen and audio quality."

Unfortunately the laptop you sent in had screen damage, which usually classes products as Grade D, however we revalued the item per Grade C prices, which represented a 40% reduction in price.

As a company at this point we were happy to offer you the quoted price, however you requested your machine back. As per our terms and conditions, we charge £30+VAT for items to be returned (when not as described/revalued) as the admin fees involved in our service (DPD collection/delivery, processing time, Blancco Erasure license etc) all add up and we must recoup them in the event a trade in is cancelled by the seller.

We would also like to add that all emails were responded to within 20 minutes (within business hours) and the Grade C price (which you agreed to) was paid within 24 hours.

Pictures of the (significant) screen damage as below.

Sorry for any inconvenience in this instance, however we feel that given the circumstances, both options were more than fair.

I chose them because they offered a good price for my kindle, the speed and efficency of which the transaction was dealt with was first class. They kept me informed me by email every step of the way, and the money was transferred to my account the same day as the item arrived, Would recommend to anybody

Excellent deal

One problem was that they sent me too smaller envelope for the items that I were sending them. I had to pay postage myself on one envelope. However, the transactions went through efficiently and quickly. It was an excellent service.

Surprisingly Impressive :)

I was very skeptical at first, (with me never having heard of this company before) but they definitely impressed me. The pick up was on time and quick to reach its destination. The replies to emails were very quick and assured me of the progress of the computer that I was selling to them. And if you are still as skeptical as I was then read this: I accidentally told them incorrect bank details, and instead of them just taking my computer and leaving me in the dark, the problem was solved by their initiative through the speedy email process I mentioned earlier. 5 stars no doubt. (Plus the money was better than the apple-affiliated 'dataserv'). :P
