AVOID THIS COMPANY!! Having left us waiting at the airport for 40 minutes despite the fact l called them, they told us that WE were late. Incredibly rude staff at the office(not the minibus driver or the guy who signed out the car) he had one thing on his mind, and that was to rip us off by telling us we had to up-grade because we were late, their fault and he wouldn't accept our Credit Card as it was from a virtual bank...........WHAT???, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Terrible experience, never again!

Pre-paid reservation and I am still yet to see the car, nobody there to help us out to collect car. Ghosted us at the airport having to get a taxi to Kiotari, hotel staff were great to guide us to local companies that are far better with no hidden charges/fees.

Hopefully everyone that reads this will listen and not do what I did. Terrible company, money down the drain!

Shuttlebus signs at Arival could be better, but was ok.

Amazing experience from start to finish. Car wiz picks you from the airport and drop you back off. Without car wiz we wouldn’t have been able to explore the island of Crete. Lovely staff too!!!

We hired the car through a deal with Opodo and the price was highly affordable for a car of this size. The shuttle service picked us up from the airport as promised and we were quickly at the office where the car was waiting for us. After the usual paperwork and checks we were on our way. The car was perfect for our needs and we explored the whole of Southern Greece in a week without issue. Upon return, the process was quick and easy, allowing us to return to the airport for our flight in good time. Highly recommend Carwiz for service, car quality and affordability.

The staff was really kind and professional. Car were as described and good shape. From the beginn to the end a flawless experience.

Extrmele bad they charge you 40 euro if you bring the car befor 8 even the rent is until 11:30

My credit card was declined on site. After 3 times was canceled by CarWiz, but there was no money back. Of course, I was then allowed to look for another rental car on site, which was of course more expensive than if I had booked it months in advance.
They said to me, 1000$ deposit. Now the comparison portal through which I booked told me that the deposit was probably 6000$ and therefore my credit card limit was not sufficient...
But it wasn't in my contract, nor was I told this on site.
Before that, there was a long conversation in which he tried to sell me insurance. I had to invest a lot of time in proving to him that I already had insurance. They also wanted to force the toll pass on me. He wanted to scare me by claiming that my destinations could only be reached via the pass. And it would be very expensive if I didn't have the pass but used it. When I had successfully fended this off too, it was time to pay. This was then rejected 3 times, without explanation.
Or was it rejected because I didn't want the insurance and the passport?
In any case, there was no problem with my card, because I then had to go to another rental car agency.... Of course everything worked there.

Booked via HolidayAutos and it was smooth as silk. A very easy, efficient and friendly experience. Car was spot on and price was excellent.

We arrived after walking out of Chania airport to a scruffy portacabin. My wife had a broken ankle and was wearing a boot, so took 15 mins to walk.

The man in the portacabin was very unfriendly.
Not a comment as to how our trip was or anything friendly. Clearly hated his job.

Obv he tried to sell the additional insurance but Id taken out excess waiver with Auto Europe.
He took 1100 euros which I was expecting.

When we got to the Citroen C3 it was clear it had endured a hard life. Scrapes and scratches on every panel, and clearly an end of season car. But hey, its only a hire car to get us around.

He pointed out that there would be a few warning lights on but this was due to the garage not removing the lights!!! Yeah, I was born at night not last night!!
But I have to trust them.

Anyway after filming a walkaround of the car we took the car.
We didn't use much but one day we drove back to Chania from our hotel resort Rethyemo.

Whilst driving the 50km, another warning light came on saying emissions engine failure and no restart possible. However we'd been told to ignore, so we did.
We had a lovely day and when we returned the car obv wouldn't start!!
We called Carwiz who said we'd have to pay ourselves for recovery. I kicked back at this as clearly the car wasn't of suitable standard.
After an hour waiting in the dark, two chaps arrived in a small car. they came out of the car and didn't even say hello. They only had a battery boost pack, which clearly wasn't the issue. They were not mechanics at all and didn't check the battery or alternator or starter motor and in fact would have been the onboard computer shutting the car down to save the engine. They then started pushing down the road to no avail. Was like a sketch from fawlty towers.

They then said call the office and left despite us asking if they'd drop us to the office. They said no.

I called George in the office and he said reluctantly he'd sent out someone to collect us.
My wife has a broken leg btw and was not comfortable at all.

30 mins later a guy turned up who was clearly annoyed and drove us back to the office where we got a new car. This was day 5 of 7 of our lovely holiday.
A day later we called saying could we return the car at 7am as our flight had changed. They said it would be 40 euros extra.
I responded stating whilst I recognised it's an inconvenience for them to come to handover the car an hour earlier at 7am, but no consideration had been given for our inconvenience in having a car break down, when really it could have been avoided if they just serviced the car. We eventually arrived back at our hotel at 11pm.
They would not budge on the 40 euro cost and told therefore to drop keys in letter box. NOT IDEAL after reading how they fabricate and take many excesses for scratches, yet don't even rectify anyway. I really wanted a walk around with carwiz so they can't hold my deposit of 1100 euros which had been charged to my credit card.

We took the risk and returned to arrive at the portacabin at 7am. We were amazed that the portacabin door was open and another person was returning their car. Maybe they foot the 40 euro bill.
ANYWAY, it happened to be the same guy that collected us when we were stranded 36 hours earlier.
He was just as charming (not) and started to shout at us that the bonnet had bird droppings on, even tho wed had only a day. I even offered if he had a bucket and sponge to clean.
My partner suddenly piped up, 'DO YOU HAVE A CAR' he was put back by this and responded of course I do.
She said, well you can drop me back to the airport as walking with a broken ankle and in a boot takes along time.
He was a bit put back, and said OK. In fact my wife was super friendly to him asking how the season had been and he in fact smiled. So it was possible.

WOULD I USE AGAIN. NEVER.
the staff are so unfriendly. The cars are poor.

I understand a mechanical fault may occur, but its the way they respond is the total failure.
I couldn't imagine what would happen if we crashed the car!!
Now Ive been told I have to wait 15 working days for the deposit to be returned, still subject to a final car check, so we shall see!!
AVOID, JUST NOT WORTH THE HASSLE

Very quick and easy booking. At the pickup location the personal was really helpful and supporting to create a good start of our holiday. We also booked a child-seat, it was clean and high quality with ISO-fix.

DON'T use these crooks.Chania airport Crete. Fraudulently altered an accident report after it was signed by both parties. Sharp practice not marking all previous dents and scratches. Obnoxious woman at the hand over who made the alterations to the documents who accused us of being liars. Make sure you take photos before and after. Think they are unscrupulous charging for dents etc that previous customers have been charged for. No water in washer bottles and car smells of smoke. The girl at the desk threatened that she would make sure we would never be able to hire a car again after we told her she had Fraudulently altered a report and would not let us have original documents back. BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU RENT FROM CAR WIZ. Would not even give 1star .

Friendly staff. quick and efficient pick up and drop off. 2nd time I've use Carwiz in Chania would definitely use again.

So I was shaken by the reviews but I had already booked it sooo... Arriving at the airport I easily found the pick up rep in a Carwiz shirt and he took us in a comfortable livered van the short trip to the Carwiz office. We were greeted warmly by A carwiz rep who went through the paperwork which was all clear and simple. I passed over my card for the £1300 I already knew I was leaving as a security deposit and was shown my car. Reasonably new, pretty clean, full tank of petrol (like or like on return) and exactly what I was looking for or 5 people and small luggage.

The car drove well with no problems whatsoever over the week.

On return to Carwizz, a quick look over keys, friendly chat, big stroke of a friendly dog and we were on our way back to the airport in the Carwizz van.

No issues, deposit back on the card and what else can I say?

I appreciate everyone has there own story but mine was what I have wrote here and I will defiantly use them again next year.

I read lot of very bad reviews on the internet, but our experience with Carwiz is very positive. They provided good service (pick-up at the airport in the middle of the night), they checked pro-actively if we had arrived already, they were easy to get in contact with, all employees we were in contact with were very friendly.
