The tour package wasn't what they claim and no warnings about time change and that you have to swap boats out on the water?
It said on the email & Voucher from Civitatis that pickup was from hotel Grand parco del sole for an 8.30 trip. When I called the afternoon before to check what time the pickup was from the hotel, the civitas number wasn't answered, so I rang the tour operator "Carrani Tours-Gray Line I Love Rome" and a very rude woman who didn't care less said they hadn't done pickups for four years and also the trip started at 8.00 a.m. not 8.30 I told her what it said in the Civitatis email and on the voucher and she said Civitatis were only the agent and to ignore what they said and if we weren't there for 8.00 the trip would go without us. As it was too late to cancel and too far to walk, we had to get a taxi there and back which cost us 52 euro which according to the booking, should have been included in the trip.
They also didn't warn us that when we got to the Blue grotto, we had to transfer from our boat in to a little rowing boat and lay in the bottom of the rowing boat. This wasn't very easy as I have arthritis in my hips and on the way back onto the boat from the rowing boat, I banged my knee very hard and it is still causing me pain and I am limping over a week later. They really should warn people before they book that if you have had a replacement hip or knee, or like me suffer from arthritis etc, etc, that they have to make the transfer from one boat to another with the boats moving up and down with the waves.
Whilst the trip was OK in general, due to their complete lack of care and very poor attitude to the health and safety of people on the tour, big questions need to be asked over the suitability of the tour operator to hold a license to run tours, also what can only be described as a contemptuous attitude towards me and their agent Civitatis.
