Why is it every number I call you don't answer or the number doesn't work. I'm getting really concerned about my order and think i want to cancel it now if I'm honest. It's causing me to much anxiety

Would not recommend the Colchester store. Although staff were lovely the issues began with extremely poor carpet fitting. Carpet was laid incorrectly and was not stretched enough. Door bar was also laid incorrectly. Called the store who sent the carpet fitter back out who was rude and clearly didn’t want to be there. He stretched the carpet again however it is now lifting by the patio door as he’s cut it too short. There is bumps in the flooring as well. Called the store who were not helpful. They clearly offer cheap carpets for a reason….cheap service.

I went into Colchester store not really knowing what I needed. A lovely guy called Shane helped me with everything and made the whole process smooth and easy. He went out of his way to find and order a specific flooring I needed. Nothing was too much trouble for him! He communicated well with me throughout and kept me up to date with the orders and fitting times. 5 star service and a credit to the company for sure!
Nick the carpet fitter also deserves praise. What a fantastic job he did. No mess was left and he is very good at what he does.
All around from shop to fitting a great professional service would highly recommend. Great prices also.

Final Update - The Manager phoned and was very polite and apologised saying the fiiter got too busy and forgot to come, but a time was arranged to do the finish today. The fitter arrived and did a great job of sorting the carpert, removing about 1cm from 2 wall edge lengths. So we are now happy and can get the bedroom sorted again. After the initial issue Carpet Monster was able to fully resolve the issue and we are content customers.

Original Issue. We had arranged for the carpet to be glued not laid with grippers as is often the case as we have LVT on the floor we didn't want to damage for the future. The fitter was supposed to call to confirm the time but didnt and just turned up, not a big issue but we had gone to the shops so was a couple of minutes behind his arrival. When we looking into the room the fitter had already hammered half of the room with grippers instead - we had even confirmed not to do this with the store directly on the morning of the fitting. Then when finished - the carpet was all bumpy and not appearing to be 'stretched' into place, we thought give it overnight to settle - but it was just as bad. We went into the store to complain and it was arranged for the fitter from the Colchester Store (Nick) to return today. Today he has not turned up - the call promised to give a time of arrival estimate didn't happen again so I am now escalating this to a complaint in hope our carpet gets laid properly. This is our bedroom carpet and we had to empty the room and are sleeping on a mattress on the floor - as we are both older people this alone is not helpful for us - I also have a registered disability.
UPDATE. I called the Branch before 5pm several times, no answer, so I left a voicemail at 4.55pm but no call back. So tonight I am disabled and having to sleep on the floor. I will now update this review am and pm daily until my situation is resolved. Using grippers when we specified not to, and the branch was reminded of this the morning of our fitting and they said they would ring the fitter to ensure he knew. having to wait in all day and no one arrives or calls us, leading us to have to sleep on the floor again despite age and disability. I hope my experience will prove useful if you are searching for a carpet to be fitted and value reliability. Next update tomorrow mid morning.
UPDATE - nothing heard from them still so unsure what is next will try ringing head office.

I placed an order on 8 April 2026. I chased likely delivery date and was told via email I would receive a call on Monday 13 April as it was due for delivery that week.

I've had no call back. I've tried calling the number on the email which rings and then cuts off. I've searched for another phone number and found one, this also rings until it is cut off after a message saying we can't answer, try again.

I've tried multiple times and get no response. Thank goodness I paid by credit card.

UPDATE: 16 April 2026. Thank you to Jimmy who called me today from the Bradford office to sort everything out. Took full ownership of the situation and found a good solution for me. I now have a delivery slot at a date and time that works. Thanks. I look forward to receiving my carpet next week. I'll update my review again, once it's arrived safely.

UPDATE 22 April: As promised Carpet arrived early, great delivery driver. Carpet now installed and looks lovely.

I received great service and advice from Shane at the Colchester branch when buying carpet and hard flooring for a whole house.
While giving useful information about the products there was no pressure on time choosing or to buy.
A good range of carpets at great prices and was able to also book a fitter, Nick, who was also very professional and efficient.
We are really happy with the finished results and would not hesitate to use Carpet Monster again.

Do not use Carpet Monster! We had a terrible experience attempting to purchase and have a carpet fitted by their Swindon branch. The staff are terribly unprofessional, they had to abandon fitting our carpet as they didn't have the correct materials, their service staff were impossible to communicate with to come to a resolution (hanging up on us, not answering the phone or returning calls). It's bewildering how a business can operate so unprofessionally! Please don't be lured in by them with the prospect of a "cheaper" deal, the age old saying of "you get what you pay for" couldn't be more true when it comes to Carpet Monster... they live up to their name.

Dont bother the company is impossible to contact. I was trying to buy but if i cannot get hold of them to make a sale , what chances have i got if i had any problems? Will take my custom elsewhere.

Ordered my carpet from the Colchester store,service very good, delivered and fitted on the day arranged,bad points, delivery driver surpose to call a hour before arrival,no call was on the school run,moaned that my stairs were not all the same size,after fitted had finished, walking on my new carpet was like walking over a stoney beach,the underlay used has big bits of plastic in it,can't walk barefoot,phoned them up to tell them,to be told they would contact the fitter to sort it,4 weeks later and I am still waiting????

I recently ordered carpet,laminate flooring and vinyl from the Colchester branch and I was extremely impressed with the service. Shane was exceptionally helpful throughout the ordering process, providing clear advice and accurate timelines. The order arrived exactly within the timeframe he predicted.
On the day of installation,Nick arrived promptly and completed the fitting efficiently and to a high standard with no issues at all. Overall, this was a first class service delivered at a competitive price. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Birkenhead Store:They do good offers / half price on end of stock lines. Because I had flexibility on the colour of carpet I was lucky to get around 55m2 of a mid grey luxury saxony for £10m2. 100% quality thick carpet and not a scam reduction. Although I had taken my own measurements, they insisted they would do their own. This was done a couple of days later and the fitting a few days after.
Through choice I supplied my own underlay that I had already bought online but the fitters were happy to fit with the carpet £4 a M2 for the underlay and carpet; it worked out £240 for 3 bedrooms, landing and stairs which I thought was reasonable enough and it was done to a standard I can not see any flaws with. The fitters were polite and worked efficiently. Overall, very content.

Customer service inside the store was lovely, couldn’t have asked for friendlier staff. Vinyl flooring was ordered and fitted within a week and a half. very respectful guy who also laid the flooring. thank you.

In order to get your bargain carpet, Carpet Monster has an unusual (illegal?) requirement that you must consent to having your email address shared with 'trusted third parties' before you can complete the sale. In my greed to save the £20 difference another website was offering, I ticked yes (when I ordinarily would untick this box.) As soon as I completed the sale, my inbox was absolutely flooded with spam phishing emails claiming my various microsoft, google, instagram accounts had been hacked, that my computer was flooded with viruses, with each email included a link to 'protect your computer now'. Some were convincing and it felt like a coordinated attack. I wasn't receiving anything like this before my purchase and haven't given my email address to any new websites in this same window.

This is 30+ emails a day in the inbox from hidden email addresses so I can't send them to spam - it has rendered this email address almost unusable. This was over a month ago and I am still getting the emails now. I didn't review until the carpet was fitted to ensure the carpet itself was ok. The carpet was indeed fine - was it worth it? No, I wish I had spent the extra 20 quid to save the hassle. Carpet Monster are making up the difference by selling your details to phishers.

I would urge anyone who is thinking of buying from this company to think again. Read the customer reviews so you know just what sort of company you are dealing with
