They charge for non-existent scratches and they are very rude .

Last year i had a very bad experience with them,this year I will definitely rent from another company. They took 200 euros from my deposit for an non-existent damage to the wheel rims. When I asked the guy to check the pictures from his phone to see that the car is the same he answered in a very rude way “who are you to show you my phone”. Absolutely disgraceful

I arrived very late in Bucharest. The car that I rented had the windshield broken, no other car available except an bmw x5 (much more expensive). The alternative proposed by Caroutis was to get an refund and drive me back to the airport in the middle of the night or pay the difference (more than double) for the BMW X5. I paid the difference to avoid any security issues. Contacted them to refund (paragraph 5.7 from terms and conditions free upgrade if they don't provide the rented car) the difference that I payed and no answer. I do not recommend this company.

I am satisfied. The car we had was a bit weak, but all the rest went well: nice personnel, office opened 24h to pick up and give back the car, no bad tricks that we usually can have from a rental car agency.

Beware, scammers! Now changed name due to multiple issues, to NU Rentals. Flew into Tg-Mures airport, been served by Daniel. Very rude, did not want to amend the contract even if flagged multiple faults. Told me I am losing my money/car if he now has to go back and change. Reassured me that as long as I have pictures, I will be ok. Took a video and recorded him saying that he is refusing to include all faults in the contracts. It was a Dacia 7 seater, even if I have booked an Aygo. Once the car was returned, they have charged me c350 euros for a 1cm scratch - which to be honest, I am pretty sure was there before. I would avoid. There are other rentals in Tg-Mures airport, very helpful and professional.

Note to Caroutis - dont bother reply to this post, you were not bothered to reply to my initial emails or texts. You have caused me a massive inconvenience and also supplied me with a car that had tyre pressure faults. A major H&S issue that you cared to ignore. Never again!

Booked a car with them on a last-minute notice. The vehicle ( a Skoda Rapid ) did what it was supposed to do.

The drop-off process was efficient and we got a ride to the airport, as advertised.

No thrills experience, will definitely use this company again.

The seller tried to hand us low cost poor Dacia car while we paid for Skoda Rapid
Also charged us for 180EU for insurance while we already paid to RentalCars for full cover, poor service would never recommend

I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. We had a small "accident" (someone scratched the front bumper on a Sunday evening around 9 pm) but we called the people at Caroutis and they picked up so late at night and offered assistance.

We dropped the car off at 3:30 in the morning even though our time was 4:30, so one hour earlier, but they were there and drove to the airport.

I can't say bad things about them, if you need a car in Cluj, make sure you first check their stock and rent a car from there, one of the best!

Reserved online, took out the damage waiver for peace of mind and the deposit was 0. I have been picked up from the airport when I arrived and collected the vehicle which was as described. Overall a very good experience. Definitely will use them from now on.

We booked the car through the priceline web. as we do all over the world for many times. We payd and got the voucher written -0$ aditional They were kind to pick us from the airport. But asked for more than double. There was another couple out there waiting, when we spoke they had the same problem.
We cancelled our booking and took a taxi to the hotel.

My husband rented a car from the Caroutis Baneasa office yesterday and was forced by your colleague Madalin to purchase liability insurance which he did not need and which is an optional service as stated in your own terms and conditions. We were clear we already had car cover insurance and my husband was happy to pre-approve the deposit necessary on his credit card but Madalin said that he would not release the car without my husband paying for the insurance cover which is unacceptable. We even rang your Cluj office to get a second opinion and your colleague there clearly said the insurance cover is optional which we told Madalin but he said these are his Baneasa terms and if we’re not happy with them we can leave without the car. Terrible service, we were scammed basically so stay away from this company. We even asked to speak to a manager but were told that no one was there and nothing else can be done.

After a little rough start everything was perfect. First we were waiting at the airport and no one showed up at the mentioned pick-up location. We called, but the call was not going through. Eventually we walked 15mins to the car park where they are located and found out that they were just having a lot of calls and the lines were full and it was a misunderstanding. After that they were really nice, the car was perfect. We had to return the car a few days earlier and even got a voucher for the remaining days!

No maxed stars since I have received a car with the window cracked, other than that they are great.

This company are stealing people money, I made rezervation for 10 days for $240. When arrive there it went up to $277. In addition, they force me to add $15 daily insurance that I did not need it, plus a $50 for "International driver licence application" and $900 deposit that I would probably not received back. Do not use these illegal company if you don't want to loose money. This is a corrupt company in a corrupt country. Stay away from Romania and visit another safer country.

ONE BIG SCAM!!! I don't recommend this car rental to anybody. We were charged 400 euros for a small scratch and a flat tire, even though we paid full insurance for our car (150 euros). Plus, they didn't give us our deposit back, which is another 200 euros. So in total, 750 euros for something that could easily be fixed for a much lower price. The employee was extremely rude to us, saying that he couldn't care less about our flight home that we had to catch and wouldn't stop screaming at us for absolutely no reason at all. According to other reviews online, it's safe to say that this is a common practice in their company. Even though they offer low prices, they will charge you extra money for literally anything. I would strongly discourage anybody who's thinking about renting a car from this company. People running this place are liars and thieves.

I returned the car and the woman at the counter in Timisoara Airport tried to cheat me on the condition of the car I returned.
First she questioned the cleaning of the car itself that she delivered to me like shXX. and pretended that I had to wash it.
Then she questioned me about all the scratches that car had, telling me it was my fault. This car is very old and she tries to get some dumbass to get the money for adjusting it by fraud.
I rented cars all over the world, never got that kind of treatment.
So I will never ever get to Caroutis for anything in my life. This behaviour is unacceptable. and the damages on the car already had rust all over so I told the lady I'll make pictures than and next week I'll come back to Timisoara and get me lawyer denunce and bring you to the courte .
That calmed the lady . I reported the fact to Rentalcars & Ryanair already.
