Ii ordered my walking aid on wedensday it was delivered on Thursday that is what I call service bob wilson

Having some idea about care, fees, funding etc from our experience with our late father ... there was need to find out more when it came to making decisions regarding mum's care needs. Mr Wright was fantastic, listened carefully, willing to allow you the time needed to explain your thoughts/needs etc and then was able to give information - which had not been mentioned before by anyone else - which may make a huge difference the way mum's care is paid for ... we could not recommend this service highly enough.

This service I would definitely recommend, as feeling very much in the dark with regards to intilement due to an elderly parent having to go into a nursing home, I was guided well and was able to contact the correct services and departments.

I cannot recommend Care Funding Guidance highly enough . At a time when I was desperate to try to resolve the dilemma we were facing over my 91 year old mother's care home fees , I read a newspaper article about this wonderful organisation . Having already spoken to advisers/ brokers put in place by my mother's residential home who were eager to push me in the direction of buying their Care Fees Plans ( annuities ) I left CFG a tentative message saying that I would like some impartial advice about which way to turn as my mother was slowly but surely depleting her capital resources . However she had some serious health issues , so jumping at investing a large lump of her capital in a long term solution to the cost of care didn't feel like a 'no brainer' . In no time I received a call back from Owain Wright. I was so relieved that he totally understood my concerns and told me that there was no right or wrong answer , that there were various options available to help fund long term care and that he would help me assess which of those would apply in our particular circumstances . Owain reassured me that everyone in my position had to just try to make an informed choice between possibly buying ' a plan ' or alternatively investing what capital was available to get the best return. To cut a long story short - I found it really hard to decide what to do and when I contacted him several times over the next few months Owain remained consistently patient , warm , courteous and understanding . He put me in touch with an excellent adviser who was very helpful and put no pressure on me . During this process my mother experienced a couple of hospital admissions ( first following a fall and just recently for pneumonia ) which , on top of her other health issues , have continued to make the choice rather difficult . Thankfully Owain never made me feel that I should rush into anything - so I know that I can still pick up the phone and have another chat with him .

We found the Care Funding Guidance website by chance while looking for information about residential care home funding for my 91 year old mother. The information we had received from the hospital care team and the local authority was very complex and confusing and it wasn't clear what our real options might be. I initially emailed asking if they could help and received a reply from Owain Wright. His email immediately inspired confidence with straightforward and clear explanations about possibilities, but better still was an offer to talk over the telephone about my mother's specific circumstances. I was a little dubious and wondered what costs might be involved for such individual advice but rang anyway as we were in a bit of a minefield. The young lady I spoke to was very supportive and said I needed to talk to one of their advisors but they were busy and what was the best time to call back? Owain himself called me back when they said they would and he explained they were funded by the industry and advice to consumers is totally free. He took a lot of time to listen to my mother's circumstances and then worked out over the phone what mum's future costs might be, estimated her income and capital assets from a possible house sale and then worked out what the "funding gap" would be. (The difference between care home costs and her total available funds.) He then explained all the funding options including investing the house sale proceeds and possibly buying an annuity. He later emailed me with all this in writing. He gave good advice on which would be best in her circumstances and arranged (again at no charge) for a specialist to do a financial and health assessment on mum (Totally unobtrusive - Mum wasn't aware it was happening so there was no chance of being upset) and work out any possible annuity costs. The service was superb, confidence inspiring and an absolute godsend at a very confusing and worrying time. Thank you Owain!

Very helpful service, with everything clearly explained. I first contacted CFG about a year ago, with the liklihood that my mother would need to go into a home at some time in the future, and I wanted to know the options etc.to meet the fees likely. Owain clearly lays out the options available, and tells it as it is.....so we had the facts from someone who is totally impartial. This saved us a lot of time, as there is little point exploring culs-de sac, if this is what many avenues are. All other advisors we spoke to had some sort of "axe to grind", even if only a small one! Thus we were most grateful for the advice we received.

I have contacted Care Funding Guidance on two occasions due to some complicated decisions we needed to make on paying for my mother's care and managing her finances to ensure we could get the best outcome for her. I found care funding guidance very helpful. Owain wright who I spoke to advised me on what my mum would be entitled to and how to claim it. He put all the information in an email with links to websites on how to claim and also to where I could find other advice if needed.
