I am a professional nanny and care.com help me to connect with wonderful families. I had been a member for more than 15 years and is the best tool for me to apply for baby sitting opportunities.

We've found high quality and dependable babysitters from care that are verified and cleared for caring for others. The subscription fees are clearly stated so that you clearly know what and when you will be charged. I appreciate the clarity and well-designed website on care.com.

It’s a really great way to make money, and if you like animals like me it’s a really great app. And obviously it’s great for other things too like babysitting and tutoring.

This app is such an easy way to get and give help to those in need. It makes things very clear. I think some parts, especially with the membership does get a little confusing, but it’s a very simplified version job application app

I recently tried using Care.com for backup care, including both daycare and in-home options, and unfortunately my experience was not very positive.
For daycare backup care, the stated policy mentions that requests should be approved or declined within 48 hours. However, in my case, I waited about five days without a clear decision. During that time, I only received emails saying they were still searching for a provider, which made it difficult to plan accordingly.
I then tried requesting in-home backup care and selected a provider through the platform. The request status showed as “confirmed,” which was reassuring at first. However, according to the guidelines, the caregiver is supposed to reach out at least one day before the scheduled start date. I did not receive any communication, which made the “confirmed” status feel misleading.
Additionally, it seems that some of the caregivers listed on the platform may not be actively available. If a caregiver’s schedule does not show any availability, it may indicate that they are not currently taking assignments. In my experience, even with a “confirmed” request, the lack of visible availability was a strong indication that the caregiver had not personally confirmed the assignment, making the “confirmed” status appear misleading.
Overall, the lack of timely updates, clear communication, and accurate availability made it hard to depend on the service when I needed it. While the platform has potential, my experience suggests there may be gaps in coordination and follow-through that could be improved.

It’s expensive, but it is an effective way to find care for your littles. We had about 5 qualified people apply for our job offer within a day which made the process very easy.

I thought the experience was great. We accidentally purchased the 1 month subscription and wanted to switch to the quarterly one. Usually it takes us about 2 months to find a long-term babysitter, so the 1 month would not do. The rep was very helpful in canceling the service and now we have the quarterly version. It went really smooth. I know Care.com specifically states that it doesn't refund subscriptions, so I was afraid that we couldn't convert to the quarterly, but the rep did it. So great job on a 5-star service.

In violation of consumer rights act 2015.
There are other similar websites that can match carers to families which won’t have illegal terms and conditions. Use those.

I am so happy to find a job during my first month with the app.

Kim P was an amazing caregiver to my elderly parents. She was available to start with one days notice and not only cared for my parent’s physical needs, but prepared meals and helped with housekeeping. She has a very positive outlook and great energy.

Great at finding people who fit my qualifications and providing families that care about us just as much as their children

Received lots of resumes. Great selection. Pick came down to arbitrary choice. I choose a really good person. The app did not nor does not allow me to select hired

Aside from the fact that their business models makes absolutely NO SENSE for parents, they intentionally make it hard to cancel subscriptions. The FTC already went after them 2 years ago for this, but they have not changed!!! I cancelled my subscription and never thought about it again until I saw months of renewal charges posted to my credit card. When I logged on, it appeared as though I had never cancelled it!! Immediately I cancelled again via the website, and it showed that my account would be "downgraded to free" at the end of the billing cycle ... but it also still showed a future billing date and the "manage membership" button still took me to a page that showed an ACTIVE subscription!! It allowed me to go through this PHONY cancellation process as many times as I wanted! I contacted customer support about the issue and all they said was "we don't do refunds" and basically saying I knew that I was signing up for auto-renewals when I signed up. Trying to CLOSE the account entirely just showed, again, that the account "would be closed" at the end of the current billing cycle. Sure buddy! Not buying that bullcrap again! There is not even a way for you to manually delete your stored payment information. Pretty sure that is illegal ... Oh and when you send a message to support they give you a "support ticket number" but the auto-response from the customer support email address literally says "This email address is no longer monitored" so there isn't even a way to follow up on that ticket number!! So after multiple attempts with customer support and finally submitting one last angry complaint via their stupid portal, I went ahead and disputed the charges through my credit card company. I had mentioned in my final complaint that I would do this. The next morning my account had been wiped and it APPEARS that they issued the refunds (after saying they wouldn't). When I called my credit card to remove the disputes they so kindly advised me to wait until the refunds actually get posted on the account, because right now they are just pending. The credit card company said many scammy companies do this - they'll "issue a refund" so it shows up in pending transactions just to get you to drop your charge disputes, but those refunds will drop off and never actually post to your account!!! We'll see what happens but I would not be surprised AT ALL if that's how this shakes out. Care.com is so obviously scammy it's insane. IDK how on earth they're the main provider for connecting parents & nannies.
