I would give carchex zero star

I would give carchex zero star for there coverage and business. Stay away from them. Their coverage is misleading. I purchased the extended warranty for $3100 which it should be the best. Unfortunately they refused to cover the catalytic convertor of my 2016 F150. When I asked to terminate the deal they refused to pay back what they owe. The good news is I took the car to Ford dealership and purchased a new extended warranty fixed for $1750 but they covered and changed me only $100 deductible.

Sara was awesome!! Very attentive to my vehicle needs and budget. She has the best demeanor and genuinely
seems to love helping others. I just received my packet and hope to never need it but I will report back if it ever happens.

Unhappy customer

I've been trying for 2 days to get ahold of someone about my vehicle, leaving messages, customer service, customer loyalty waiting for 15 minutes to get disconnected.My vehicle was totaled on August 20, 2022 and want to cancel my contract.. would someone return my message before payment is taken out of my bank..

A Pleasant Experience

Recently purchased an extended policy for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I was in the automotive parts and service for just over 30 years, and I was very positively impressed with the service by Eric, Mike, and James. They are valuable assets to your organization. I was so impressed that we purchased another policy for my wife's 2015 Subaru Outback.

I purchased a used Chevy Silverado for…

I purchased a used Chevy Silverado for towing my RV. I bought the truck at a dealership and they didn't even talk about a warranty.
After a couple years, I looked into an extended warranty.
I looked into CarChex along with several other warranty companies.
I elected to go with CarChex.
Fast forward to May of 2022. My wife and I had been on an extended vacation and just before I got home, the check engine light came on. I called my local Chevy dealer and brought my truck in.
They diagnosed a problem with the transmission/emission system. They asked if I had an extended warranty (which I completely forgot about) and the dealer called CarChex for me.
CarChex sent a representative to the dealer. The representative said they would cover the repair minus the $100 deductible.
The repairs totaled about $3800.

Claim was rejected from a picture the…

Claim was rejected from a picture the was sent by my dealership. It was rejected based on pictures that was sent to them, I don't know why an inspector was not sent out, how can you see the problem from a photo. I have cancelled this service.

Rip off warranty

This company, like all the rest of them, misleads you when you are talking to the person trying to sell you a warranty, singing you a song and dance on how they get you in and out without a hassle, seamless to the customer while putting down all the other warranty companies and praising themselves as the best. They flat out lie!! They tell you you can take it wherever you want as long as it's ASE. What they don't tell you is wherever you do take it, they'll make their own rates to suit themselves. My very first time needing a repair they refuse to put quality parts on the car. They said they'd pay for a used or reman alternator at the lowest cost to them with no regard to the quality of the part or whether it leaves you stranded somewhere. Then they refuse to pay the shop rates. They want you to take it to almost a backyard mechanic before they'll pay. And they chose to send an inspector for an ALTERNATOR!!! Tying up my car another two days!! Like Hyundai doesn't know how to diagnose an alternator issue!!! Don't waste your time and money on this company! You will end up paying most of the bill if not all of it, that's their goal. They have no intention of providing a warranty, just siphon your monthly payment out of you and give you a huge hassle. They will make sure you NEVER take your vehicle to a reputable shop, unless you pay for it! Now in response to Carchex response: I changed my serpentine belt 3 months ago because it was worn. With the belt came the pulleys and tensioner. There is nothing wrong with the tensioner or pulleys. The problem is inside the alternator! Just because it's charging doesn't mean a thing if the bearings are going bad in it! What kind of moron thinks everything is ok when you take the belt off!? Naturally it won't make that sound without the ALTERNATOR turning under a load!! This is on you, you simply find every way to deny a claim just like all the other complaints say on here! You are criminals!!

Thank you for your review. We will address your concerns regarding the Vehicle Service Contract for your 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

According to our records, a Royal Protect Used Premium plan was purchased on 6/1/2022. The coverage included a 30 day and 1000 mile waiting period before claims could be called in. You were provided an electronic copy of the contract on 6/1/2022 via our CARCHEX website which you accessed the same day as purchase. A 30 day money back guarantee was provided to give you time to review the coverage terms and conditions.

The coverage does not specify where you must take your vehicle for service as long as the repair shop is licensed and located in the United States and Canada.

With regards to the parts and labor, your contract allows for the approval of parts of "like, kind, and quality" which can include new OEM, aftermarket, remanufactured, or used parts as long as they meet OEM specifications. This is common in the automotive industry for vehicles over 10 years old.

As the retailer, CARCHEX does not approve or deny claims but we can assist you when there is a claims dispute with the contract administrator. We have asked our Customer Loyalty Team to review your claim and reach out to you today to help resolve this issue.

Based on the claim details provided by the Administrator, your claim was called in for a rattle and squeaking sound 19 days and 114 miles into active coverage. Because of how early you were into coverage, the administrator requested a 3rd party inspection of the vehicle to verify the failure to your alternator.

Upon inspection, the inspector documented the repairs with both photos and videos. The charging system was tested and was operating normally at the time of inspection. When the dealership removed the serpentine belt, the noises went away. The inspector noted the adjuster pulley and belt were recently replaced and the pulley was replaced with an Aftermarket pulley.

Based on no verified failure, the claim was denied and the shop was advised to do additional diagnostics to determine the cause of the rattle and proper repair.

Very deceptive, Terrible

Very deceptive. This was my third warranty with them also. Carchex is a broker that uses a couple of other extended car warranty companies, including American Auto shield. American Auto shield has many BBB complaints and will do anything to not cover repairs. It's shameful that carchex uses a company with clear BBB warnings and complaints. I'm thankful to not have this warranty after my final experience. Literally exhausting to prove that my part was covered. Then although the part was clearly listed as covered, the part within the part they claimed wasn't. After weeks of different conversations and complaints with several different American Auto shield employees all of whom had different stories and directions, I was asked to purchase the part myself and be reimbursed. No way. No trust in them and they refused to put in writing. Later to find out had I bought the part, they would only partially reimburse. So angering. I was constantly lied to by American Auto shield employees who were rude and clueless. Communication among them was the worst I've seen. Every day was back to square one with a new person clueless as to what the last told me. After a month of working with this company, my car was finally repaired. I was without my car for that long because they fought that hard to not cover a covered part. In the end the work on my end, administratively and legally was exhausting and so stressful. Never again. Don't ever buy from them. I won't. My warranty ended and I happily got rid of the supposed peace of mind that made the possibility of a car repair worse rather than better. Don't buy. Carchex, wanna make it right? Refund me the amount you charged for the extra stress rather than the promise of peace of mind. Or... Drop the American Auto shield company that's warned about by the better business bureau branch of government that protects customers from fraudulent businesses. Terrible.

Stay away from Carchex

On June 14th I bought the policy from Carchex and paid my first month amount. Next day when i came to know that they are only broker and my policy is been owned by someone else. I raised a cancellation request and from that day (15th June) till date, I have send 7 reminders and i just keep getting same reply as cancellation request will be raised and someone will contact you. But till date nothing has moved. I even copied CEO email to my request but nothing moved till date. This is so bad from carchex and I doubt how they have such a good rating on BBB.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. Stay away from this people. If cancellation process is so tedious good luck with the claim as they just keep saying that they are broker if yours claim gets rejected.

Shame on carchex

My daughter purchased an extended warranty for a Subaru, she added gaskets and seals. She had her first oil change everything was fine nothing was noted, she went for a second oil change they discovered oil leaks. Car checks refused to cover anything, also would not allow us to re-submit claim. Shame on you car checks. Will never deal with this company again nor will I recommend this company to anyone.

This is my second time I have purchased…

This is my second time I have purchased an extended warranty from Carchex. I had a wonderful experience with the first extended warranty, car repairs approved,rental cars available etc. I decided to get a second extended warranty with them. Even my service representative at car dealership was impressed with Carchex.

They will find a way to deny your claim

I have had my policy for 2 months. I put my car in the dealership to have my timing belt replaced. I got the policy that covers it. Now they want the oil change records of my oil changes. The last time I had my car at the dealership was November of 2019. My husband has done my oil changes since then. Well we didn’t keep copies of the receipts. My bad. And the adjuster is claiming neglect on our part because the timing belt should have been changed at 100,000. My car has 102,870. I have heard the horror stories about these extended car warranty companies and now I know they are true. As soon as my claim gets denied I’m going to cancel my policy.

Craig Myles, is my guy. He took good care of me and understood my needs. Was able to get me a great rate and bumper to bumper coverage. I highly recommend using Craig moving forward with CarChex. Please ask for him when you ask for a quote. He is also a true car guy so he understands the importance of the extended warranty and does it without any pressure.
