Appalling aftersales service – they would not even collect a rejected vehicle
My experience with Car Planet has been absolutely unacceptable.
I purchased a Volvo S90 from them via distance sale. The vehicle was delivered on 9 July 2026 and I exercised my right to reject it shortly afterwards.
From that point onward, what should have been a straightforward vehicle return became more than a month of unnecessary chasing.
I repeatedly contacted Car Planet by email and telephone asking them to arrange collection of the vehicle. Many of my calls and emails went unanswered. When I eventually received a response from their Aftersales Manager, I was simply told that they were still “reviewing the matter internally” and that they could not provide me with a firm collection date.
Meanwhile, the vehicle remained parked, unused and continuously available for them to collect.
My finance broker, CarMoney, investigated my complaint and formally upheld it, confirming that the finance agreement would be unwound.
Even after this decision, Car Planet still failed to arrange collection.
The situation reached the ridiculous point where CarMoney themselves emailed me on 19 August stating that, because they had received no response from the dealer, they were instructing an independent third-party company to collect the vehicle and take it to auction.
Think about that: the finance broker has effectively had to step in and arrange removal of a vehicle that Car Planet should have collected themselves.
Throughout this delay, my £3,100 deposit has remained tied up, the finance agreement has remained unresolved, and I have had to spend a completely unreasonable amount of time making calls and sending emails simply trying to get Car Planet to take their own vehicle back.
I have retained the full email correspondence and chronology, including:
* Car Planet acknowledging the issue but refusing to provide a collection date;
* repeated requests from me for the vehicle to be collected;
* CarMoney’s final response upholding my complaint; and
* CarMoney subsequently confirming that they were arranging third-party collection because of the lack of response from the dealer.
I am attaching relevant correspondence so potential customers can judge the level of aftersales service for themselves.
Buying a car is the easy part. The real test of a dealership is what happens when something goes wrong.
Based on my experience, Car Planet’s aftersales handling has been extremely poor, slow and unnecessarily stressful, and I would not purchase another vehicle from them.
The process was very smooth and i got my car within hours. Staff is very professional specially dominik who helped us understand everything easily.
My previous one star review has been removed, let’s see if this one remains.
Don’t ever buy from this company.
Rogue traders and in my case took my car in part exchange at an agreed price, took the V5 and car itself and haven’t paid me. It’s extraordinary and fraudulent. A bunch of rogue traders that needs to be closed down. Given the negative reviews, I have reported them to Trading Standards. I have issued proceedings but I can see from reading the reviews that they don’t care
Mo Eka was warm and welcoming to us, he provided us with a great service and showed us around everything in the vehicle, he was also open to answer any questions we had.
You'll get a car but expect nothing else, especially if there are problems after buying.
Would not recommend.
Bought a car, stopped working due to lack of fuel after 1 mile. No response to emails. Call centre complaints staff said "your fault, you should have checked fuel gauge". Subsequently they admitted they should have put at least 10-12 miles worth in the tank. No compensation for inconveience and time.
Wouldn't buy again from Car Planet (Barnet).

Poor poor customer service. Did not provide what I asked for (service history) multiple times when trying to purchase a car. They then sold it to someone else and ignored my messages. Do not recommend and will not be returning there.

Where do I begin around how terrible the experience has been -
Firstly, a warning. Please check every feature claimed on the website. My car listed clearly in the title and in the description it had parking sensors, only for it to arrive without them. My car also arrived with a cracked wing mirror and additionally a list of issues I pointed out when viewing - missing dust caps, dirty, loose fittings in glove box, nothing was addressed.
The claims of the 150 point inspection are nonsense. They take no pride in their products and you are nothing to them. Do not be fooled by the professional website, when you visit the branch it's very much the stereotypical 'used car salesman' environment with telling you anything, even if its untrue to get you to commit.
The barnet branch is an absolute joke, its a giant boys club where there are just staff in big clusters just going in and out the building taking vape breaks rather than spending any time with the clients, they pull up the spec of the car in front of you and have no idea what they're actually selling.
As I was unconvinced I was promised (by the manager) that if I bought the car I would be given extras, Shuraguard, free tank of fuel, etc. Obviously, none of this happened....
Anyone who has been to the Barnet branch I'm sure will testify to this
The aftercare service is a joke and all solutions offered were at my expense (the repair centre only operates mon-fri, so I would have to take time off work to get the mirror replaced). Despite acknowledging that the car was advertised as having sensors (as I screenshotted evidence before they removed the listing...) they said all I could do was 'swap' the car, even though I've already paid tax and insurance on the car I purchased. When I asked them to give me a list of cars, they refused and said call the barnet branch and ask for the manager... haha
I'm laughing because it's been such a joke of a process, I am now taking legal action under consumer rights which is obviously not an ideal situation. Usually, I'm quite chill about these things but this company is beyond a joke.
If even one person reading this takes their custom elsewhere it will be worth it

To me the 150 cheques mean 12 and a half years stuck with the quality given.
Ignorance shown towards human interaction should be intervened by the Serious Fraud Office.
Once reported, a Group of collective Paragraphs, reference numbers would be presented to whatever Governmental department there are in Education.

It felt a little like a customer conveyor belt at the Barnet showroom. There was a lot of upselling and quite a bit of pressure to take out finance. There was no flexibility at all on the price of the car, and even negotiating the cost of the extended warranty went on for far longer than it needed to.
I was also surprised that the car only came with a six-month warranty as standard, with an additional cost to extend it. The very loud music also made sitting down to discuss the car quite annoying. The whole place could do with a refresh (tidy old seats).
That said, the overall process was smooth and efficient - Ali Rahmati was friendly. The main disappointment was at collection; we were told the car had been washed and was ready to go, but this wasn’t actually the case. We ended up waiting around an hour for it to be prepared, which wasn’t ideal when we had a small baby with us.

I bought my SEAT Ibiza from Car Planet Barnet in April and my experience has not been pleasant.
Before buying the car we noticed the VIN on the front dash had a sticker over it. We asked to get it removed before our collection and they agreed. On collection day the sticker was not removed.
Upon bringing the car home we noticed that the AC was not working and the Sat Nav SD was removed. We contacted Car Planet multiple times and we were told "The car was not advertised with Satnav or AC". AC and Integrated satnav are standards for cars and should be disclosed if not working or included.
We then had no choice but to then take the car to a mechanic to get the AC fixed as car planet would not provide any help. The radiator was cracked and bent, this should have been checked by car planet.
Recently the Engine Light came on the car, after taking it to our mechanic for the second time in 4 months of owning the car there were 7 faults listed on the system. I believe that car planet may have hidden the faults on the system before selling the car to us as it is extremely rare for 7 faults to appear overnight.
Please also don't trust reviews for Car Planet, staff pressure you into giving a good review after buying a car.
If you are contemplating buying a car from car planet please don't.

Stay away from Car Planet.
As soon as I contacted them through their website about buying a car, they kept calling and messaging me non-stop. However, once I paid a £1,000 deposit, their communication completely changed and they became almost impossible to reach.
For a whole week, I was unable to collect the car. I ended up spending two days at their Barnet dealership before I finally managed to take the car home. The whole process was extremely frustrating, and their communication was terrible.
A couple of days after buying the car, I went to a petrol station and filled the tank. When I walked back to the car, I discovered that petrol was leaking heavily from the fuel tank. This is an extremely serious and dangerous safety issue.
I immediately called Car Planet, but they simply told me to call back on a working day. I called again on Monday and was put on hold for 30 minutes with no result. I called back once more and was told that someone would contact me, but nobody ever did.
The car is leaking petrol, which is potentially extremely dangerous, yet they do not seem to care or treat the situation with any urgency.
This has been by far the worst car-buying experience of my life. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend staying away from Car Planet.
