Where do I begin around how terrible the experience has been -
Firstly, a warning. Please check every feature claimed on the website. My car listed clearly in the title and in the description it had parking sensors, only for it to arrive without them. My car also arrived with a cracked wing mirror and additionally a list of issues I pointed out when viewing - missing dust caps, dirty, loose fittings in glove box, nothing was addressed.
The claims of the 150 point inspection are nonsense. They take no pride in their products and you are nothing to them. Do not be fooled by the professional website, when you visit the branch it's very much the stereotypical 'used car salesman' environment with telling you anything, even if its untrue to get you to commit.
The barnet branch is an absolute joke, its a giant boys club where there are just staff in big clusters just going in and out the building taking vape breaks rather than spending any time with the clients, they pull up the spec of the car in front of you and have no idea what they're actually selling.
As I was unconvinced I was promised (by the manager) that if I bought the car I would be given extras, Shuraguard, free tank of fuel, etc. Obviously, none of this happened....
Anyone who has been to the Barnet branch I'm sure will testify to this
The aftercare service is a joke and all solutions offered were at my expense (the repair centre only operates mon-fri, so I would have to take time off work to get the mirror replaced). Despite acknowledging that the car was advertised as having sensors (as I screenshotted evidence before they removed the listing...) they said all I could do was 'swap' the car, even though I've already paid tax and insurance on the car I purchased. When I asked them to give me a list of cars, they refused and said call the barnet branch and ask for the manager... haha
I'm laughing because it's been such a joke of a process, I am now taking legal action under consumer rights which is obviously not an ideal situation. Usually, I'm quite chill about these things but this company is beyond a joke.
If even one person reading this takes their custom elsewhere it will be worth it
To me the 150 cheques mean 12 and a half years stuck with the quality given.
Ignorance shown towards human interaction should be intervened by the Serious Fraud Office.
Once reported, a Group of collective Paragraphs, reference numbers would be presented to whatever Governmental department there are in Education.
Rayyan has been extremely helpful in helping us find our new car.
Super lovely experience thank you!
It felt a little like a customer conveyor belt at the Barnet showroom. There was a lot of upselling and quite a bit of pressure to take out finance. There was no flexibility at all on the price of the car, and even negotiating the cost of the extended warranty went on for far longer than it needed to.
I was also surprised that the car only came with a six-month warranty as standard, with an additional cost to extend it. The very loud music also made sitting down to discuss the car quite annoying. The whole place could do with a refresh (tidy old seats).
That said, the overall process was smooth and efficient - Ali Rahmati was friendly. The main disappointment was at collection; we were told the car had been washed and was ready to go, but this wasn’t actually the case. We ended up waiting around an hour for it to be prepared, which wasn’t ideal when we had a small baby with us.
I bought my SEAT Ibiza from Car Planet Barnet in April and my experience has not been pleasant.
Before buying the car we noticed the VIN on the front dash had a sticker over it. We asked to get it removed before our collection and they agreed. On collection day the sticker was not removed.
Upon bringing the car home we noticed that the AC was not working and the Sat Nav SD was removed. We contacted Car Planet multiple times and we were told "The car was not advertised with Satnav or AC". AC and Integrated satnav are standards for cars and should be disclosed if not working or included.
We then had no choice but to then take the car to a mechanic to get the AC fixed as car planet would not provide any help. The radiator was cracked and bent, this should have been checked by car planet.
Recently the Engine Light came on the car, after taking it to our mechanic for the second time in 4 months of owning the car there were 7 faults listed on the system. I believe that car planet may have hidden the faults on the system before selling the car to us as it is extremely rare for 7 faults to appear overnight.
Please also don't trust reviews for Car Planet, staff pressure you into giving a good review after buying a car.
If you are contemplating buying a car from car planet please don't.

Stay away from Car Planet.
As soon as I contacted them through their website about buying a car, they kept calling and messaging me non-stop. However, once I paid a £1,000 deposit, their communication completely changed and they became almost impossible to reach.
For a whole week, I was unable to collect the car. I ended up spending two days at their Barnet dealership before I finally managed to take the car home. The whole process was extremely frustrating, and their communication was terrible.
A couple of days after buying the car, I went to a petrol station and filled the tank. When I walked back to the car, I discovered that petrol was leaking heavily from the fuel tank. This is an extremely serious and dangerous safety issue.
I immediately called Car Planet, but they simply told me to call back on a working day. I called again on Monday and was put on hold for 30 minutes with no result. I called back once more and was told that someone would contact me, but nobody ever did.
The car is leaking petrol, which is potentially extremely dangerous, yet they do not seem to care or treat the situation with any urgency.
This has been by far the worst car-buying experience of my life. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend staying away from Car Planet.

The car was dirty inside and out, both front tyres were damaged and close to legal limit on the mot advisory, the salesmen tried for 3 hours to sell me warranty, I travelled from Leeds and was handed the car with no sat nav, I had to hook up to my phone.

Had a great experience with Hassan who helped me to get my car. It was a really busy week so calling into the centre was hard to get through at times but he kept me informed of updates by email and made calls to myself. On the day of completion everything was ready on time and I was happy with the outcome

Bought a car from car planet Barnet in April 2026 and just after 2 months of buying, the car engine failed.
Since june 2026 till date, car planet has constantly revised their delivery dates. There has been no communication upfront from them. They provide a response only when you ask.
They provided a courtesy car which has all 4 tyres worn out. When asked to replace it as i have a long distance travel planned, they outrightly said no.
They are worst in post sale services as there is no accountability.
They dont even care that a customer is formally raising a dispute with motor ombudsman.
They are the worst and would request everyone to stay away from them.

We paid cash for a second-hand car from Car Planet Barnet on 27 July 2026. Car Planet agreed a part-exchange of £500 for our old car. Car Planet provided us with a credit invoice and assured us the £500 would be with us within 3-4 working days. It has been more than 10 working days and we still haven’t been paid. We repeatedly phoned Car Planet but the after-care or customer services team is non-existent. We left messages and eventually got through to someone. They assured us the payment was being processed but after two weeks we still haven’t been paid.
Our buying experience was in itself stressful: Car Planet use high pressure selling techniques to sell add-ons such as bundled annual services, extended warranties and coatings and treatments. After paying for our new car, we were kept waiting over an hour to collect the key. They only had 1 staff member dealing with post-sales and 1 staff member dealing with finance. Everyone else we could see in the large open plan office was sales – maybe a dozen of them. We only hope there is nothing fundamentally wrong with our car because realistically, we will have no recourse unless we take court action. I accept we should have insisted on a deduction for the part-exchange amount given that we transferred V5C ownership. They took possession but have paid nothing and have no basis to refuse payment - this is tantamount to theft! There are loads of complaints about them on Trust Pilot and interestingly their response is for the complainant to get in contact with the email provided but it’s the same email address that doesn’t respond to complaints in the first place!

I was sold a faulty vehicle. I feel they’re only interested in making sales. The after-sales service has not been prompt either, and the problem has still not been resolved even after a month.

Poor customers service, an hour waiting on after sale and failed to get my car fixed.

Had plans to go to Watford to buy a car (Tesla) from Car Planet.
Thanks to God I read the review
Would never get a car from them, even if given free
Unfortunately, not a good experience but it may change.
I attended Car Planet and carried out a test drive on one of their cars. Thoroughly checked it over and was pleased. So, put down a deposit.
During the week from deposit to collection, I made arrangements to collect the car via the WhatsApp despite ringing them and getting no answer.
Yesterday, I collected the car. I had to wait over an hour as it was not ready, disappointing. I thoroughly inspected the car before driving off. During my journey home the engine management light activated. So, I am currently going through the rejection process.
Yesterday, same day that I collected car, I spoke with a manager in aftersales. Polite, apologetic and professional. She accepted the rejection and told me car would be collected that day. I then received a slightly contradicting email to what was agreed from their aftersales email address and to top it off the car was not collected, not good.
Today, I have rang 3 times, asking for collection to be messed around. So, supposedly the car is to be collected today, we shall see.
Unfortunately not a great experience to date. If the rejection process, communication, their timescale improves and is prompter than what Im experiencing and I receive better service then I am currently, I will, of course, update this review.
