Had plans to go to Watford to buy a car (Tesla) from Car Planet.
Thanks to God I read the review
Would never get a car from them, even if given free
Unfortunately, not a good experience but it may change.
I attended Car Planet and carried out a test drive on one of their cars. Thoroughly checked it over and was pleased. So, put down a deposit.
During the week from deposit to collection, I made arrangements to collect the car via the WhatsApp despite ringing them and getting no answer.
Yesterday, I collected the car. I had to wait over an hour as it was not ready, disappointing. I thoroughly inspected the car before driving off. During my journey home the engine management light activated. So, I am currently going through the rejection process.
Yesterday, same day that I collected car, I spoke with a manager in aftersales. Polite, apologetic and professional. She accepted the rejection and told me car would be collected that day. I then received a slightly contradicting email to what was agreed from their aftersales email address and to top it off the car was not collected, not good.
Today, I have rang 3 times, asking for collection to be messed around. So, supposedly the car is to be collected today, we shall see.
Unfortunately not a great experience to date. If the rejection process, communication, their timescale improves and is prompter than what Im experiencing and I receive better service then I am currently, I will, of course, update this review.
Allan was professional and knowledgeable.
A Portuguese administrator that sorted paperwork after sale was excellent

I purchased this 2017 BMW 330e M Sport Plug-in Hybrid yesterday from watford and, unfortunately, it has been one of the worst car-buying experiences I’ve had. Before I paid my deposit, the customer service was excellent. However, once the deposit was paid, everything changed. The communication, attitude, and overall customer care dropped significantly. I was encouraged to take both the finance and the extended warranty through the dealership. When I arranged finance elsewhere because their APR was much higher, I was told they could no longer offer a discounted warranty and that I would have to pay full price. I decided not to take their warranty as I found a more competitively priced option elsewhere. While I understand that pricing is their decision, I was disappointed by how noticeably their attitude changed once I chose not to purchase their finance and warranty products. My sales representative also became very difficult to contact after I paid the deposit. Messages that were answered quickly before the sale suddenly took many hours, and sometimes until the following day, to receive a response. It genuinely felt as though, once my deposit was secured, I was no longer a priority. Before the sale, I was told that the worn tyre would be replaced if necessary. However, when I later raised the issue, I was told that because the MOT did not identify the tyre as defective, they would not replace it. This was very disappointing, especially as a replacement had been discussed before I committed to buying the car. I requested that the wheel alignment be carried out before collection and was told that it would be done. However, when I collected the vehicle, there was no wheel alignment certificate available. I was simply told it had been checked, with no evidence provided. The car is a plug-in hybrid, yet it was handed over without a charging cable, which caused unnecessary inconvenience from day one. One of my biggest concerns is that the plug-in hybrid system was never demonstrated to me before delivery. The vehicle was not charged, so I was unable to verify that the hybrid system was functioning. I was simply told to buy a charging cable myself, charge the vehicle at home, and if there was a problem, I had six months to bring it back for inspection. I was also promised that this would be confirmed in writing by email, but I never received that email. The handover itself was also poor. I was just given the keys and told to pick up the car. No one came outside with me, explained anything, or ensured I was satisfied. For a dealership selling premium vehicles, I expected a far more professional level of service. Overall, the enthusiasm and promises made before the deposit disappeared afterwards. If I hadn’t already paid the deposit, I would have seriously considered walking away and buying my car elsewhere. I would strongly advise future buyers to get every promise in writing, inspect everything carefully before completing the purchase. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership.”

Second 1 star review - AVOID. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SHOCKING. My door handle fell off the car.
I bought a lexus from this company 2 months ago. After issues with the tyres in which i had to pay out of my own pocket due to safety concerns, they decided not to refund me.. but that was all in my first review. This review is about the fact that randomly after opening my car door, the door handle came off in my hand. Yes, you read that right. The driver door handle came off the door. After checking it with a mechanic, we noticed a bit of glue in the hole. Now, im not blaming them for that. It may have been previous owner, however, i bought the car from them and so i called to see what they could do to help. I was authorised £80 for a diagnosis, and they asked me to email them an invoice which i did...i paid from my own pocket. Then when i get a further invoice for the repair that would be covered.."As long as its not that much". I was asked to email them for the person to get authorisation from management. I emailed 8th august and asked for the £80 to which ive had no response (14th today). I am having to climb through my passenger door to get to my seat. They are not swift in response to anything i email...but watch them respond to this within a day or 2. Clowns.

Bought a car for £15k, asked the salesperson if there was any damage to the leather, they said no. Spotted considerable damage concealed to the driver on the way home- all my emails have been ignored since by both support@ and aftersales@
Terrible customer support, terrible after-sales, terrible experience. Avoid at all costs.

An absolute lie, my first email was sent almost a month ago. Not a single reply was made.

We brought the car from them cash and paid everything, before driving home, we found out there is problem with car door lock, they told us , that they will fix in one day and told us to come next day and get the car, its been over 2 weeks now, the car still not been fixed, they don’t bother explaining it to you how much longer it will take more, never called back to update you, we trying to chase them, but seems like there are not interested about there customer who have paid all money in cash, unless you get car on finance and they get profit out of it, very disappointing about there customer service, they keep on saying we will do it in one or two days, but that day never seem to be coming , i would not recommend of buying a car from them

**A simple windscreen complaint has ended up going to court**
I bought a vehicle from Car Planet in March and, a week later, discovered a crack in the windscreen.
I have photographic evidence from the day I collected the vehicle showing that the crack was already present at the point of sale. It was never disclosed to me and was also unknown to the sales representative, which I have email evidence confirming.
Ironically, Car Planet themselves produced the photograph showing the damage while arguing that it was not a latent problem and that I had accepted the vehicle as it was. However, a dealer's obligations are not the same as those of a private seller, and my complaint has been based on my statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act.
Initially, Car Planet accepted my complaint and arranged for me to return the vehicle for an inspection. However, later that same day, the case was reviewed internally, **Car Planet cancelled the inspection they had arranged**, and I was called and told that the case was closed and they would do nothing.
I continued trying to resolve the issue through emails, telephone calls and WhatsApp, without success. I eventually sent a registered formal complaint and received a letter of deadlock. I also offered to use ADR to avoid court proceedings, but this was ignored.
With no other resolution available, I issued a small claim and obtained three independent quotations for replacement of the windscreen and the required ADAS calibration. All three were very similar.
Car Planet then had four weeks to file their Defence. They did not contact me to try to resolve the dispute until **the final day**.
They proposed replacing the windscreen themselves if I withdrew my claim. By this point I had already paid the court fee and spent considerable time pursuing the matter. Given my previous experience with them, I simply asked for their proposal to be confirmed in writing before I withdrew a live court claim. I was told that written confirmation would be sent within 5–10 minutes.
**It never arrived.**
Instead, they filed a Defence alleging that I had failed to cooperate, had not allowed them to inspect the vehicle and had failed to mitigate the loss.
The suggestion that I refused an inspection is particularly frustrating because **they were the ones who cancelled the inspection they had arranged**.
Their Defence accepts liability and the dispute is now essentially about the amount required to rectify the problem. My quotation was £700.70 for replacement of the windscreen and the required ADAS calibration, which they argue is excessive.
I have therefore gone even further and now obtained **five independent quotations**. I even obtained a quotation in Watford to check whether pricing in my area was affecting the cost. The quotations are all within a similar range for my particular vehicle model and specification.
The case has been through mediation without resolution and is now proceeding towards a court hearing.
I find it extraordinary that what should have been a straightforward issue with a windscreen has required months of correspondence, a registered formal complaint, a deadlock letter, multiple independent quotations and ultimately court proceedings.
I have kept photographs, emails, correspondence and records throughout the process and will now allow the court to determine the dispute.
Based entirely on my own experience, I would not recommend Car Planet.

I recently purchased a vehicle from Car Planet in Barnet and had a very smooth experience, the staff looked after me throughout the process. At the point of sale, the salesman agreed to reimburse me for getting the car valeted and for a quick repair to the engine cover, once I sent over the receipts.
After I did, I was put in touch with Ali, who was fantastic, he processed the reimbursement even faster than I expected.
Overall, great service from start to finish. I’d happily recommend Car Planet Barnet.
