Never again will I hire a car via…
Never again will I hire a car via Ryanair. They don’t tell you the car is not at the airport. First of all you wait for a shuttle bus to take you to the car rental which is miles from the airport, then waited an hour for our car.
No car but still charged and zero refund
Booked a car and when we arrived the car had broken down, and the only other car they had was way too small for a family and luggage.
In the end we accepted as we didn't have other options.
But we couldn't take the car as they didn't accept our Danish Visa, which we literally use on all our travels. They refused to give us a car. We had to pay a taxi to a bus station and pay for bus tickets to our destination.
Ryanair is refusing to refund us as they say it's our fault that our visa is not the right Visa!!??
Big time scam, keep away!
BLATANT FRAUD
BLATANT FRAUD. Booked through Ryanair on-line. Was offered and bought the extra CDW waiver insurance only for Budget not to recognise it when I arrived at the desk. Either pay up again for CDW or Budget would hold a €2k against my card for a car that had many blemishes.
They are con-men, gangsters, thieves. Both Ryanair and Budget contributing to wholeheartedly to rip of Ireland. The authorities need to look at this illegal practice.
Ryanair knowingly sell you a false policy and Budget know they do but don’t do anything about it. It reflects poorly on both companies.
Unpleasant Experience with Ryanair Car Hire
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with Ryanair's car hire service. Recently, I was unfairly charged 83 euros for allegedly returning a car dirty, a claim that is simply not true. My attempts to resolve this issue were met with arrogance and unhelpfulness from the Ryanair car hire customer support team.
It has become apparent that Ryanair collaborates with car rental companies that employ dishonest practices, including unjust hidden charges. This terrible experience has thoroughly discouraged me from using Ryanair's car hire services again.
I strongly advise others to avoid using Ryanair car hire to prevent similar disappointments.
Paid from mid day on 2nd May
Paid from mid day on 2nd May. Arrived at 16:00 to be told that I was considered a no-show and my reservation was therefore cancelled and no refund would be offered.... Lesson learned. Dont book by Raynair
Scammers!
Scammers!
Got a car from them!
5 days of driving, all good.
Deposit of £850?!
Been waiting for it for 3 months, still nothing,
Taking them to court!
Will never book with Ryanair or Europcar again
Much like everyone else here, got to the Europcar desk to find I had to pay an additional €125 euro for Europcar’s CDW even though I had already paid this as part of the Ryanair booking, I was told “it didn’t count as was via a broker” and “I needed to take this up with someone else” (what??!!) And then was told I would need to pay an additional €250 deposit if didn’t hand over credit card details rather than debit card. Absolutely ridiculous system, clearly a scam and I should have walked away- but 2 kids and a journey to do, they know that most will pay.
I hired a car through Ryanair from…
I hired a car through Ryanair from Dublin Airport and paid for extra insurance, when I arrived at Eurocar they said I had to pay 96euro for extra insurance (for 2 days hire) or leave a £2000 deposit.
I showed them my paperwork from Ryanair, but they said "it did not count and I would have to take it up with Ryanair".
I do not see how it can be right and legal to MISS SELL INSURANCE
I will be complaint to the financial services watch dog when I return to the UK.
Damage Scam
We had a scary experience when we dropped our hire car back at Palermo Airport. They, Noleggiare, tried to make us pay for a dent that was very difficult to see. Thankfully we had taken a video of the outside of the car a week prior at collection. I managed to, just, freeze frame an image of this dent that was on a large panel near the fuel cap. They were trying it on so advise caution with these guys.
They robbed me of 150 euros
They robbed me of 150 euros. They can't be contacted and haven't reimbursed me, even though I haven't been able to hire the car I paid for.
AVOID AT ANY COST
Why I havent checked the rewiews before? I mean what on earth are they doing? the worst service ever! worst communication, couldnt find the car company and then had to walk ages to wait for the van. On return there was no driver to takes us back so had to wait again. AND THE WORST was that when you book with Ryanair they automatically pick a female as a driver, so then you have to pay again for another person to drive the car. Nice way to make extra money. The car was in baad condition, and then when the sensor fell inside the car, due to the car being 1000 years old, they are now expecting us to pay 300EUR for the damage. The car isnt worht 300EUR. SCAMMERS SCACMMERS SCAMMERS.
BEWARE
How I wished I checked the reviews before the reservation.. everything that could be done wrongly has been done wrongly, avoid at all cost!
Heads up! Extra costs
Heads up!
Made a car booking through ryanair website along with plane tickets. Added car insurance aswel. When came to collect the car in our destination, we have been told we have to pay an additional car insurance which was £25 a day and without that we could not have the car. Been calling customer support at ryanair but with no success. The lady kept saying that she’s doesn’t know at the best it to send email. I told her that it’s quite urgent and can not wait for a reply for my email as we need the car now! Very disappointing customer service. Will be claiming for a full refund as we denied to pay an extra cost for an additional insurance and had to get another car.
My son hired a car via Ryan air when…
My son hired a car via Ryan air when booking a flight to Milan. He arrived late Saturday evening, 9pm only to find there was no booking. He had to get a taxi to his cousin's house at a cost of 93 euros!! He had paid Ryanair so surely his contract is with them. They said nothing to do with them. We'll see in the small claims court
Bad service: Tirana Ryanair Carwiz delay
Booked a flight and car rental via Ryanair from Weeze to Tirana. Flight got rerouted over Thessaloniki with 2+ hours delay. The car rental office of Carwiz closed at 14:00 in the afternoon and refused to provide service till the next day. Also, they tried to charge us additional costs for handling fees the next day. Ryanair is refusing to cover any expense like taxi trips. Do not book you car hire via Ryanair! Book it separately with a better car rental.
Would be zero if it was possible
Would be zero if it was possible. Never hire a car through the ryanair website as if anything needs to be changed or cancelled they will not refund a penny even though a direct booking with the same car hire firm would. Ryanair use a broker, so 3 companies are involved in the car hire reservation and you cannot find the T's & C's as each company will blame the other.
I booked a hire-car with Ryanair .....
I'm no stranger to Ryanair, having taken 45 flights with them in the past two years. Anyway, this trip I booked a hire-car with Firefly, through Ryanair, along with my flight booking. RYANAIR TOOK PAYMENT (that is important to remember). I didn't get a booking voucher, or any confirmation of booking at all. I was concerned so, at the airport, I asked Ryanair representative about the issue. She typed my details into a computer and announced that I had no booking as "payment needed to be confirmed". She suggested booking again, which I did, payment was taken, again, but no confirmation of any booking. That meant I'd paid twice for no car (£39 x 2). So, I booked through my regular agent, 'DoYou/Spain', with the same supplier, 'Firefly'. Same price, but with confirmation of booking and a Voucher to show. Asking Firefly about the issue, they said "we have no cars booked for you through Ryanair"! I have just been on Ryanair's 'On-line Chat' about it, but the girl was quite ignorant with me, abruptly saying "we are not the provider of that service". I replied "I paid Ryanair. They took payment for the car hire"? to which she replied "we only advertise this service, we do not carry it out". Then she disappeared? I will try to recover the costs through my bank, but hey-ho, there's another set of legalised fraudsters! My advice is, IGNORE RYANAIR'S SIDE-LINES. They are good at providing flights, cheaply. Anything else, forget it!
Absolutely dreadful experience
Absolutely dreadful experience. DO NOT BOOK A VEHICLE THROUGH THEM. We hired a car and never received a voucher. On arrival at the airport in our naivety we thought there would be a Ryan air desk but no! No car hire company in the airport had received our booking so we had to book another vehicle and pay again. Ryan air are now refusing to refund Us and have closed our complaint without even trying to listen! Nightmare, don’t use them!
Total Scam
Total Scam. I was refused the car and they charged me for 9 days because of some fine print. Guess who keeps this money - not the rental company the company Ryan air has as middle agents! Sickening. Avoid. I'll never book through Ryan air again.
Very bad experience never again
Very bad experience! Book a car with Ryanair and they ask for a number of the flight ticket and fill the information of a main driver automatically- without asking .. when we arrived the company refused to give us the car cause the main driver (filed by Ryanair) don’t have a driving licence .. I called Ryanair to correct the name on the reservation and nobody helped us ! I spend more then hour on the phone and called from Spain to England .. we paid 256€ 4 months in advance and cause of the wrong name they refuse to give us the car ! Then the company asked us to pay expensive insurance 274€ more to finally give us the car! Never again! This is stealing money from tourists! Don’t trust them ! For my self was the last time. Is not normal to treat customers this way in 2023! If you make a mistake- you have to correct or refund money! You definitely lost a customer and I will tell to all my friends and family about this bad service.
