Terrible banking services
Capital One has very bad customer service and the online website banking is very poor developed with a lots of bugs. The 1% cash back is a scam, they provide 0.5% cash back. I do not recommend this credit card from Capital One.
Data Breach & Terrible Service
They stored incorrect information on my file, so I had major problems going through activation. They also stored my S.I.N, which I didn't provide. This was especially problematic because they had a data breach (my information was among those that got compromised). I have no trust or confidence in their InfoSec. Look elsewhere if you want the basics, such as information security and competent customer service.
Disgusting company that makes you go…
Disgusting company that makes you go through hoops and obstacles to get your credit card activated.
They sent me 4 different letters (what a waste of paper) and now 3 weeks later I still cannot login and use my funds!
When you try to login they then ask you to verify a phone number via SMS. This also does not work!
So you have to jump on many phone calls - be routed to Philippines bla bla bla.
Avoid like covid.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Would not recommend this card to anyone. Calling customer service is a joke, you can’t understand what they are saying because English is obviously not their first language. Don’t get a card from capital one. It is bloody hell dealing with them when you have an issue
Annoying made all payments for two…
Annoying made all payments for two years straight and then one month recently my mail stopped coming to my house and I was off $2 on the monthly payment. I called tried to explain to the customer service person and she just wanted to waste my time, tell me it was all my fault, and that I couldn’t use the card until my most recent payment was posted lol and the account wasn’t even fully maxed 🤣
I would give 0 star if I could
I would give 0 star if I could. After 2 years of paying my card in time, no more than 35% of credit use, no bad credit on my credit report, they still won’t increase my limit. Their card didn’t chance anything on credit score as they said to help build the credit. It a waste of time.
Awful company
Horrible customer service.
Today I had a charge go through on my card from a subscription I canceled 6 months ago. I contacted the other party and they agreed it was a glitch on their end and issued a refund of the payment in full.
Since the card was close to its limit when this payment was put through, capital one added a overlimit fee. When I reached out to them asking for it to be removed as this was not a purchase I made but a glitch on the other end, they argued with me saying I had given the third party permission to access my account.
Even though I had clearly started numerous times they admitted they were at fault as my subscription was canceled and were refunding the money capital one didn't care. They repeatedly stated I was at fault for giving the card info out (even though it wasn't charged from this merchant in over 6 months) and I would have to deal with the fee.
Not to mention I have had this card for 2 years, never missed a payment and until this incident I've not had to reach out to them due to account over charges. Furthermore, since I have been ranting to people today I've learnt that capital one doesn't actually help build your credit score. Since learning that ill be canceling my card with them. What a waste of 2 years.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, they're greedy especially during a pandemic. Im absolutely disgusted with what went in today.
Capital One is nothing but liars
Wow after being promised help with rebuilding credit I got a $300 pre paid card. After making every single payment on time , never missing a single payment for 24 months, and the company acknowledging that payment history. I find out that they didn't do a single thing to help.me rebuild my credit in those two years. Not one single payment was reported to Equifax by Capital One Credit.
Furthermore with all that history based on the promise to help rebuebuild my credit they "capitalized" on my membership. (Made.money) They did absolutely nothing to follow through with there advertising statement-and will not do anything either.
Beware of Capital One.
They are liars. Cheats and theives.
What ever you do !
Do not out a single dime in with this company- they are liars!!!!!
Pathetic! Take your CC business elsewhere…
Take your credit card business elsewhere! In 2020, they slashed their rewards in half on their Aspire World Elite card. It is not even worth it anymore. It used to be the best travel card. Now, it is no different (or worse) than everyone else. But, at least everyone else has better customer service and actually want your business. That is why you need to bring your business elsewhere. Their customer service is awful! My wife and I have been victims of fraud many times with them and it takes them forever to send out the new cards so you end up being without a credit card for about 2 weeks while they send it snail ground mail (non-expedited). That shows you what they think of you as a customer. Also, I recently asked for them to provide me with a quick letter stating that my credit card was cancelled and a new one issued, due to fraudulent activity and they refused. Really, what kind of customer service is that. So after 15 years with them, this was the last straw. I am shopping for one right now and will be cancelling in a day or two. Good Riddance!
Awful company
Awful company. Save yourself the headache, seriously.
Currently have a credit card with them that has a limit of only $300. Since COVID-19 hit, I have lost my job and so have many many others. They claim to have a COVID-19 relief support, but that's a stretch. They provided me with their COVID-19 relief program for a few months even though COVID-19 has been prevalent for almost a year now and we are now getting the second wave.
I am getting AT LEAST (and this is no exaggeration) 10 phone calls from them every single day from 8am-8pm asking me to make my minimum payment on my card. I have explained to them that I am still unemployed, they asked me why... as if they have been living under a rock for the past year. I keep having to explain to them the concept of having no money due to unemployment from a pandemic. They had the audacity to ask me how I am paying my bills if I have no money... as if I'm going to make myself homeless before I make a payment on a $300 credit.
If you are looking for compassion from a company that actually provides COVID-19 relief, go with RBC. They haven't been sleeping under a rock for the past year and don't harass you 10+ times every single day if you are struggling.
Below one star customer service - choose another provider
If I could give lower than a one star I would. I have been dealing with Capital One Mastercard since March 2020 it is now November 25th 2020. I had a vacation that was cancelled due to COVID. I filed a chargeback and they sided with the travel company. Finally on October 30th the travel company refunded my money. Capital one Mastercard confirms that I am owed the money and says that they will mail me cheque but they never do. Each time I call them the rep says they will issue a cheque but it does not happen. I am appalled with the lack of customer service. If you are looking for a credit card company look elsewhere!
If I could give a negative star I…
If I could give a negative star I would. Truly disgusting treatment, told several lies, and took zero accountability. Two hours on the phone with the worst customer service, with zero results and only blame in my direction. Thank you for screwing up the credit I've been working years to build back up. Super appreciated during this pandemic. These people are the scum of the planet. Also just in case anyone was wondering, it's apparently VERY easy for someone else to get a credit card under YOUR name if they simply know your details. Their "automated system" is a dangerous operation. Stay AWAY FROM CAPITAL ONE!
They didn't honor my Costco rebate.
I was with Costco Capital One, I put all my purchases on this card, due to their great rebates. Since I had accumulated such a large rebate Capital One decided to cancel my card and not give me my rebate. They told me they can cancel for any reason, it's in their terms of service.
Now to make it worse, up until now I've had automatic payments where the balance of my card is paid in full every month automatically. Now that Capital One cancelled the card, they also stopped the autopay. When they cancelled, there was a small balance amd Capital One are now charging interest on the balance, all because they cancelled the card that stopped the autopay.
Capital One is the worst credit card, terrible customer service and scammers. Avoid them at all cost, there are soo many better rebate cards.
I had a very bad experience with the…
I had a very bad experience with the customer service that I have not had such an experience in whole my life with any other credit card company or institution. I would never recommend Capital one to anyone. A rate that I can give them is zero not even one star.
Let me rephrase my previous review from…
Let me rephrase my previous review from disappointed to disgusted with Capital One's level of support and understanding during the COVID-19 Crisis! Coronavirus has affected everyone differently and at different times. Like I previously mentioned my credit card has always been in good standing until recently when I fell behind a couple of mths ago. I missed one payment (a payment was made, but not the full min payment) and my second payment was late while I waited my for EI Claim to be processed. Payment arrangements were made and I am now caught up and back on track...so I thought, only to find out Capital One has raised my Interest Rate in the midst of a pandemic. How terrible! It shows Capital One truly doesn't care about its customers.
Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible. There is no point in having this card. I am cancelling it and Costco needs to reevaluate who they pair with.
I made an overpayment. Not only will they not give me the credit back, they didn't even put the credit on my card.
Basically they took my money, and treated my overpayment as a card "top-up" instead of an overpayment. This was not a small overpayment, it was over $1,200.
Capital One made a huge mistake and now…
Capital One made a huge mistake and now my credit score is very low. On my credit fe it states 3 months in a row I was past due when I no longer get had a Capital One credit card account. People are trying to correct it but it isn t happening. They are Ruining my credit. Oh it will be fixed soon. They admit to the error but don't fix it. My advice... stay away from Capital One Canada. They will ruin your credit with their errors
The worst Customer service Ever.
The worst Customer service Ever.
For some Reason they "Available Credit Limit: $0.00)" appeared on my statement while I had $2,300 credit remaining. I thought this must be a mistake and I called Customer service. Customer service agent asked many security questions and confirmed that I have $2,300 credit available. I tried to use the card and it is declined. I called the Customer Service again to find out what is going on. Representative asked me bunch of questions and passed me to another representative. This e asked me 5 security question too. Then he told me that he will send me a link for me to scan and send my drivers license to him before they can start resolving the matter. They are scam and fraud. Very difficult to deal with and unprofessional bunch. Stay away from this company and their useless card.
Representatives should drop the script and listen
The customer service representatives are utterly useless. Invariably they refer me to the website when I call the contact centre - though I have already visited the site prior to calling. The customer service representatives do not listen to their customer and are obviously reading from a script.
Beware of this company!
Worst company ever to deal with. I will not be recommending or referring anyone as well, will tell anyone my personal experience with them that would like to know. They are scammers, continually high interest rates, over limit fees and now with this Covid crap, zero help! I’m beyond disgusted and discouraged by the customer service I have received as well. Do your research before you accept any credit cards with them.
