Never shipped
Bought a backpack a month ago and never shipped, not a back order. Contacted CS and they said they will forward to their logistics department to reach out to me once they hear back, now it has been two weeks and I hear nothing.
THEY DECLINE YOUR REVIEW because it is negative! no original box or tissue paper SLOW SHIPPING
Slow shipping! No Original Box or Original Tissue Paper from Stanley product! $18.05 for shipping to wait TWELVE DAYS! AND they declined my in-store review which had no inappropriate language or anything of that sort!
Zero accountability - ignore the discounts and shop elsewhere
I placed an order on January 1 and paid $60 for 2-day shipping (so, expedited order). When I saw it hadn't even been sent out by the weekend (Friday was a full business day), I attempted to make contact via email before their office opened on Monday (to ensure it either shipped already and just wasn't updated, or request to cancel), and that went unanswered. I saw it still hadn't shipped, so on Tuesday morning, I sent another message. Still no answer, and in the afternoon, it shipped. I leave the country tomorrow and won't receive the order. I called, and the rep said they're only willing to refund the $60 shipping if USPS agrees to 'return it to sender'. Campsaver refuses any accountability in taking 3 business days to ship a 2-day shipping order??? I get it's 2-day delivery from the shipping date, but taking 3 full business days just to get an expedited order out is absolutely insane. Especially after 2 attempts at outreach. Who would pay $60 to expedite and have it arrive over a week later!? I'm disputing this with my credit card company and recommend that no one orders from them, no matter how good the discounts look - it's just not worth the hassle.
I will only remove this review if I receive a prompt refund in full.
Worst customer service
Advertised product they didn't have in stock. Wait time went from 1 month to 2, to 3, to 4 months, in which time I moved. So I changed my "default shipping address" on file with them. I also called them and received assurance that they had my new address. But they sent it anyway to my old address on file at the time of the order- 600 miles from me. When I called them for assistance, they gave none, aggressively denied any responsibilty whatsoever for ignoring revised default shipping address. Just argued and argued, "that was the address you gave when you placed the order." Forwarding cost me $$ and much time and effort determining where the heck the item was, and arranging for item to be shipped to present address. Item received appears gray market, a color combo only sold in Europe. I pray it fits and I don't have to deal with these jokers again with a return.
No refund for defective tent
This company does not stand by the products they sell, even if they are found to be defective when put to use. I bought a Eureka tent from them less than a year ago on 9/01/2024; but this month on 8/16/2025, after only my fourth time using it (and the first rainstorm I experienced with it), we woke up after a night rain with the entire base of the tent soaked in water. As soon as I returned from camping, I called Campsaver customer service for a refund and was told they have a 30 day return window and can do nothing for me. I will not buy from this company again knowing that even if their product is found to be unusable when put to the test on a camping trip, they make no exceptions to their short return window.
Poor customer service -not worth the headache
3/4 packages arrived so badly packed that multiple items damaged. don't believe the 'free returns' is doesn't apply overseas and for me the cost was more than the items! Lengthy and obstructive processes - insistence on photos of the 'damaged' box so that a claim can be dealt wit by 'shipping' and NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT or willingness to accept the box wasn't damaged - the damage was because hard items IN the box hitting each other in shipping was the problem - its not the transport company Campsaver it YOUR staff not packing things appropriately!! Unless you're in the US - shop ANYWHERE else. Now I'm out of pocket, and have damaged products
Extremely Slow
Placed an order end of June. They charged my card immediately but it took over a week for them to start processing order. July 8th they notify me there is no ETA on shipping date although they assured me my items were in stock. New update, items won’t ship until July 23rd. Cancellation of order was easy and received confirmation cancellation promptly, the only positive of the entire experience.
I ordered a ski helmet that did not…
I ordered a ski helmet that did not fit. Campsaver said it was unreturnable. Although my order confirmation and invoice said nothing of the sort. It actually said free and easy returns. Beware! I am now stuck with a $250 helmet that doesn't fit. I will never do business with them again.
Not the usual optics planet experience
Got a fancy backpack for 100 bucks less than retail value. I was anxious because their website looked suspiciously like the optics planet website… who says everything is in stock when it isn’t… anyway it came few days after order. Great experience overall.
Didn't honor an Online Discount, Made Invalid
Didn't honor an online discount coupon they were showing sitewide on a banner. Had an item in cart with a coupon code they were advertising on their site, and had to run to take care of an errand. Went to place an order when I got back, and they had changed the item from being able to use the discount code, to earning bonus in store rewards points so it would be exempt from the coupon discount. Other models/styles of the item still worked with the discount, but not the one I was going to purchase. They are trying to push people to either pay full price, or only get their in store rewards points instead.
Excellent experience!
Bought a pair of men's Lowa boots (some 50% off) and 3 pairs of Tubbs walking poles with two separate purchases. No problems whatsoever for execellent priced items!!!
If you actually want your order shop elsewhere
Ordered an in stock item that was then conveniently on back order shortly after.
Waited through 8 month of updated ship dates and empty promises before I canceled my order and went elsewhere.
Customer service did nothing to help.
Bait & Switch
I place an order with Campsaver for an item advertised on sale, online. The next day, I received a note from their Customer Service reading "With our deepest apologies, we regret to inform you that a typographical error occurred on our website causing a pricing discrepancy for the following item(s):" And that they would cancel my order. Also, "If you would like to explore some other options, we have a warehouse full of similar products and our product specialists would be happy to assist you. We can be reached at 1-877-883-6276 or by e-mail at xxxxx."
I reached out to their Customer Service, trying to understand "Pricing Discrepancy", and if the item I was interested was available. No reply.
One week later, the item is still listed for sale on their website, still showing "24 available".
Classic Bait & Switch tactic.
There are better companies to do business with than CampSaver.
Not Worth the Headaches!
My experience with CampSaver began well enough, but regrettably deteriorated into a completely miserable fiasco. First, the prices listed on-line are definitely competitive. In fact, lower price was the hook that got me looking at CampSaver to begin with. I ordered several items on-line and two of them arrived without incident. Unfortunately, it then was all down hill from there. The coat I ordered for $280 from CampSaver was in-stock and was actually shipped on time. Unfortunately, UPS refused to deliver it to the local post office and, when I contacted CampSaver to find out what gives, CampSaver said that because the order was handled with PayPal (a listed means of purchasing on Campsaver's site, by the way) CampSaver "could not" instruct UPS to simply reroute delivery of the coat to our street address rather than the post office. I called PayPal and UPS, both of whom said that all CampSaver needed to do was to contact UPS and they would change the delivery to our street address. I advised Campsaver of this and was informed by the very nice service rep that because PayPal was used, CampSaver "could not" (read: would not) request a delivery change. So because Campsaver would not do anything to resolve the issue, the coast was sent back to CampSaver's warehouse. Aggravating, but ok, it happens. In the meantime, I contacted the nice service rep and asked if CampSaver would simply re-ship the coat to me when it was returned to CampSaver by UPS. CampSaver said they "couldn't" (again read wouldn't) do that, but would issue a refund to me and then I could re-order the coat. Strange, but ok. I then asked to place a new order for the coat and was informed that the coat was now backordered. Huh? When I pointed out that my original coat, having been returned because CampSaver wouldn't intervene, was now sitting in their warehouse so they had at least one of the coats in stock, the very nice rep told me that this was a separate operation from sales and that if I wanted to have the coat, I would need to take the refund for the original undelivered coat and re-order the coat that was now on backorder. Fine. They then told me the good news was that the cost of the coat had dropped to $180. So I re-ordered at the new, lower price, and was invoiced the coat at this reduced price. Yesterday, I received an email from CampSaver telling me that their sales price was in error (as in too low) and that they were, therefore, cancelling my order. When I called to find out what the heck was going on, I was told by another very nice sales rep that the system showed that my order for the coat was cancelled, that there was nothing I could do to get the coat at that agreed to price ($180), but that I could place another order for the coat for the tidy sum of....wait for it...$415. So from $280 for a coat that CampSaver wouldn't ensure delivery of, to $180 for the same coat order that CampSaver took and subsequently cancelled out of the blue when they concluded they hadn't charged enough, to the new (but definitely not improved) price of $415.
So what lesson have I learned from the experience? Do business with CampSaver at your own peril. If all goes well, you get a quality item at a good price. But, and it is very big but, if anything goes wrong, which appears as likely as not based upon my limited dealings with the company, you are in for a frustrating, time-consuming, and, ultimately, wholly unsatisfactory buying experiences. For me, trying to save a few bucks, is definitely not worth dealing with CampSaver ever again.
Bought a tent from them
Bought a tent from them, found it cheaper the next day, asked for a price match, they refused.
Then s they hipped the tent instead of canceling the order after refusing to match the price. I had to return the item and pay them $7.99 to get a refund to my card.
THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR 'PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE'
They appear to have their own definition of the word guarantee that is not based on any dictionary
Great Deal, Timely Delivery
I purchased an Obermeyer Tall Size Ski jacket from Campsaver.com. They were one of the only companies that had the tall size in stock and it was listed as one of the "Blazin" deals on their site. I was a little skeptical of the deal based on other reviews that I found online... basically it sounded too good to be true. It only took about 2-3 days to get my jacket shipped (which was right after xmas, which was reasonable). From then on UPS delivered the package on time. I therefore wanted to make a point of putting up a review since my experience was very good.
This seller is dishonest seller! This should be -0 star
This seller is not an honest seller! They play with you as much as they want! I have ordered 3 items all the same! The product was on final sale which means no return ans I was okey with that because I wanted to buy them! But it took them like 5 days to process it I called them to see why! And they said it’s still under proccess and it will be shipped that day, and they ended up canceling my order because the PRICE WAS A MISTAKE BY THEM as they say! pricing discrepancy!
Apparently they raised the price to the original price Which is ridiculous!!
No more purchasing from them!
Extremely dishonest, misleading, was lied to repeatedly by customer service
I bought a running vest from them which claimed it came with two bottles - expensive bottles specific for racing with during ultramarathons. I double checked with customer service twice before I purchased the vest to make sure the bottles indeed came with it - they said yes. The order comes a few weeks later with only the vest, no bottles. Customer service is extremely slow to respond, claims they can't get in touch with "the warehouse" and suggest that I should do it, without ever saying to me what the hell warehouse is, nevermind how to contact them. They then refuse to send the bottles or a partial refund for the bottles. Very dishonest if not downright lying, they will never get my business again.
Can't complain at all; Good experience
Bought a couple of Western Mountaineering bags from Campsaver at considerable discount. Very rare to see WM bags on sale, so I jumped at it. Only after completing purchase did I look at online reviews and freaked out at all the "Campsaver is a scam, 0 stars". If I had seen the reviews first, never would have gone fwd with Campsaver. So I called customer service next day to give them a chance b/f canceling my CC transaction. Got a human being right away. A native English speaker from Illinois. He answered all my questions, so I let the purchase ride to see how it turned out. The bags shipped in like 2 days, delivered in 4. Brand new bags, all the tags, no issues at all. Maybe I got lucky, but I can't complain about my experience at all. And I got darn good prices on those bags. I would buy from Campsaver again if the discount was right.
Ordered 2 x batteries
Ordered 2 x batteries, Payment was taken from San Marino which rang alarm bells, Product was shipped from China. , Low Value, Description on the invoice was Ornament, I refused the import, Credit Card company now investigating. Stay away.
