Having had email exchanges and phone conversations with James, we finally made the long trip to the store.
I had previously researched the Karsten tents I was particularly interested in; namely the Lacerta and the Opera.
James welcomed my wife and I on arrival and gave us the breathing space to explore the tents ourselves. The store itself is well set out with several Karsten tents on permanent display. What was super helpful was that by each tent was the packed up tent, in it's own bags. Instead of having to guess pack size for transportation, it was there on show. The other benefit was having the opportunity to establish if the weight of the bags is manageable. Fantastic idea.
James was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful during our visit. He took an interest in what kind of camping we do in order to offer us insight into what might work best for us.
This was by far the best experience we have ever received in any camping store. I would highly recommend a visit if you are interested in high quality camping gear and want to talk with an expert.

Having only recently discovered the Camping Travel Store, and after visiting several times just to breath in the experience, we finally pulled the trigger and purchased the Quest 5m bell tent last week. We are over the moon with the tent of course, and the service we received was exemplary. Everything about the tent was explained to us clearly and enthusiastically, and nothing was to much trouble. The owners shared with us some excellent hints and tips, showing us how to pitch, how to adjust, how to get the canvas back in the bag with ease, and even checking that the bag fitted in the boot of our Honda Jazz (thankfully it did). We genuinely had such a pleasant experience, we thank you. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic display of real quality tents. The friendliness and knowledge of James and Suzie about their products is extensive, (never once did we feel like we were being over sold) supported by tips and tricks they have picked up over the years of there camping. It was an excellent experience visiting their store and highly recommend a visit.

What a great shop for all your camping needs. We have purchased pretty much all of our camping things from here including our tent. Staff are always so helpful and friendly. What a great shop!

Fantastic experience shopping for camping gear. James and Suzie very helpful with ideas, knowledgeable about what gear would meet our camping needs.
Choosing a tent as an investment was made easier by being able to view so many on display.

Amazing tents sold by amazing people. I don't believe it is possible to do better in the UK. Simply the best.
