The communication was appalling
The communication was appalling. When I arrived in Vigo there was nothing to welcome me, no instructions on where to start the walk - nothing. As requested, I’d emailed Camino Ways as to my arrival 24 hours in advance and was hoping to receive a physical welcome package with maps etc. Nope, not even a return email from you..,I phoned and was told everything is on the portal. I am a 74 year old woman who knows very little about portals. I managed to navigate my way around it and found it vey helpful when I did. Please Camino Ways, ascertain the age of your client and help them in a less technical way. The walk was fabulous and I enjoyed every minute apart from the total lack of communication from you. A welcome email or WhatsApp at every hotel would be appreciated by many I’m sure. Also, the choice of accommodation in a few places left a little to be desired considering the high cost of the package. Regards, Susie Garton from Australia

Our travel documents are provided digitally via our Client Portal. This is stated on the quote at the time of booking, and we send a series of emails before departure explaining how the portal works and how to access it — all your maps, notes and daily details were there ready for you. When you contacted us by WhatsApp, our team sent your portal access straight away and we're glad you found the information helpful once you were in.
We're sorry a few of the properties didn't meet your expectations and we'll pass that on to our accommodation team.

Our Second Camino
This was our second Camino this time the Portuguese Camino. Like the first one we found everything was well organised and the accommodation & bags service were very good.
Nothing was a problem & communication with any queries was handled promptly.

Great organization, very reliable
We worked through Camino Ways in planning our Camino trip. They were excellent, responded quickly and gave great suggestions. Our pilgrimage went flawlessly and the places we stayed at exceeded our expectations. Shuttle drivers were prompt and friendly. Food was excellent.

The Luggage transport and Lost and…
The Luggage transport and Lost and Found Recovery service (Mailboxes Unlimited in Coimbra) services were excellent. Three hotels were unsatisfactory: Hotel o Bras (rude service); Solar da Rainha (no wifi for guests, reheated leftovers for the evening meal); Conimbriga Hotel do Paco (10 miles off the Caminho).

I've used Camino Ways twice
I used Camino Ways for the Portuguese route of the Camino in 2025, self guided, and the Tuscany portion of the Via Francigena in 2026, guided. Both were great experiences - I so appreciated not needing to wonder where I'd sleep each night! Good accommodations, great communication with CaminoWays support staff when needed.

This was our second Camino with Camino Ways. They make the process simple and are adaptable to your needs. The accommodations were all very nice and conveniently located to the Camino. We also used the pick up and delivery to the airport this time and it was flawless. Luggage transfers also went smoothly. Definitely recommend!

We had the best time. Transport and hotels were absolutely adequate. I asked for extra luggage transfer and it was arranged immediately and payment link sent and sorted. Can't wait to do our next Camino. Thank you to everyone on the Team for your patience in dealing with two different countries and time zones, and 5 people who all had different wants or needs. Accommodations not where we asked for them
We asked for accommodations in the central historic areas of the towns we would be in and instead we often found we had to walk additional miles and were not in the center of activities. We often took an Uber or taxi back to the town so we could see it. Some maps were WAY wrong. Having us go into wear a bridge was completely gone for years or way off where the Camino trail really was.

Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry the locations didn't work as you'd hoped.
We do aim to book centrally wherever possible, though on some stages the availability along the route is limited and the closest options sit outside the historic centre. Our records show the only itinerary change requested during your trip was a move from Teo to Santiago, which unfortunately we weren't able to accommodate at that stage.
On the maps, we'd genuinely like to look into this. If you could email us the specific stages where the route notes were wrong, we'll check them against our current documentation and update anything that needs correcting.
