Terrible, uncaring, expensive........
I have used Calder vets for years and it has always been expensive but good. My 14 year old cat has had bladder problems for the last few years and has cost us a lot of money. We are not insured and couldn't get insurance after he was run over when he was young. Toby's bladder twisted and I wanted to put him to sleep as he has suffered a lot with this and we had spent about £10,000 on it through the last few years. They recommended we try again. I told every vet we spoke to, every admin we spoke to, that we could only go to £2000. All the way through the procedures I said this was the limit. I went to pick Toby up and they tried to charge me £2495. We refused to pay anymore. There had been so many conversations. Two days later we sadly had to put Toby down. We paid for him being put to sleep. I have had demands and I rang the vets - nobody returned my calls. 4 weeks later, someone returned my call to get my side of the story. We still got more demands and now, the person dealing with the matter, has left, and we are now being contacted by someone else in the 'Customer Care' department. There has been no attempt to admit any error, understand or compromise. This is now being passed to their debt department. This has all been extremely upsetting and we will never use Calder vets again.
