I have read quite a few negative…

I have read quite a few negative comments about this platform and I was a bit nervous when I initiated my first payment. However the verification was done in 48 hours and I'm waiting for my first payment to arrive! I suggest everybody to read the terms carefully and if you comply with their rules, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. I really love how that the platform is very easy to use and I'm satisfied with the company so far :) Keep up the good work!

Terrible

Terrible! Your page has to be approved first, which only happens after you've received your first donation of over $10. That takes weeks! Buy Me a Coffee says that once your page is finally approved, you can get paid every Wednesday. That's a lie too. They keep your money for weeks, essentially rent. And then they charge a high rate. Buy Me a Coffee's customer service is either impossible or almost impossible to reach and/or never responds. Don't do business with this company!

Won't let you cancel!

They're happy to have you sign up to monthly payments. But when you go to cancel, they won’t let you!

Comes up with an error 'Javascript:Void(Null)'

I've tried three different browsers, cleared cookies, cache, temp files. Contacting support is useless, response time states it will be 'a few hours.'

Certainly, won’t be using them again! Will have to contact my bank and tell them to put a block on any payments going out to them.

Cancelling should be straight forward! Shouldn't have to go out of my way contacting support and my own bank! Will email the person I was supporting on a monthly basis to let them know that in future I won’t be supporting them unless they find an honest payment handler!

Amazing service

The customer support experience is amazing. I was experiencing a delay with my account verification process for my first payout and it got resolved after I contacted customer support. The support agent was very friendly as well.
The service itself is quite good too, I can recieve payments for my work and the supporters don't need to sign up for anything. Loved it.

BuyMeACoffee is an absolute scam disguised as a "creator support" platform – 0/10, do NOT use it if you value your money or sanity.

Without warning, they PERMANENTLY BANNED my account and refunded every single dollar in my balance.

This isn’t a glitch. This isn’t a mistake. This is how BuyMeACoffee operates: they let you build up a balance, lure supporters into tipping you, then freeze everything and rob you blind the moment they feel like it.

My Experience With Buy Me a Coffee

My Experience With Buy Me a Coffee: How a Simple Issue Turned Into Months of Delay and Frustration

What began as a routine payout request on Buy Me a Coffee (BMC) turned into a long and exhausting experience marked by delays, slow responses, and a lack of effective solutions. Since September 2025, my funds have been stuck due to BMC’s inability to process payouts to my HSBC Egypt bank account—an account that had worked perfectly fine for months before the issue occurred.

This is the full story.

A Sudden Failure in Payouts With No Explanation
The problem started when Buy Me a Coffee notified me that my latest payout failed due to an incorrect routing number or SWIFT code.
This was surprising because:

The same bank account had received all previous payouts,

I hadn’t changed any bank details,

And my bank confirmed that the SWIFT code was correct for international USD transfers.

Stripe, the payment processor, later clarified the real issue:
They are no longer able to send USD payouts to HSBC Egypt accounts.

This meant the failure was not due to wrong information from my side — it was a system restriction that BMC never communicated.

Support Response Delays: Days for a Single Reply
One of the most frustrating parts of this experience was the extremely slow customer support.

Every reply from the BMC team took anywhere between 2 days to a full week, even when the matter was urgent.
Throughout November, I repeatedly asked for updates — sometimes twice a day — but responses were always delayed and provided little progress.

For a platform handling users’ money, this level of communication felt unprofessional and unacceptable.

Multiple Attempts, Same Problem
To resolve the situation, I followed every instruction BMC gave me:

Tried reconnecting my bank account

Tried creating a new Stripe connection with a different email

Provided my full banking details multiple times

Submitted bank statements and verification documents

Contacted Stripe directly to confirm the SWIFT code

Asked BMC to disconnect and reconnect my Stripe account

Requested manual payout options

Despite all of this, the same issue persisted:
The system blocks HSBC Egypt, and BMC keeps asking for the same information without providing a real solution.

Disconnecting Stripe and Reverting Funds Back to BMC
After several failed attempts, BMC finally disconnected my Stripe account and returned the failed payout back into my BMC balance.

Yet even after this, the team continued to reply slowly, and no final solution was provided for how I could fully withdraw all my funds without changing my bank.

I made it very clear:
This is my only bank account, and I am not willing to open a new one just because their system blocked HSBC.

A One-Time Manual Payout — But Still Delayed
Eventually, the team told me they could process a one-time manual payout if I provided my banking details again.
I sent everything immediately.

And still — their responses continued to take days.

After months of delays, it became clear that the platform:

Does not have a professional or efficient support system,

Handles payout issues extremely slowly,

Fails to communicate banking restrictions in advance,

And leaves creators uncertain about their own money.

Conclusion: A Creator’s Warning
My experience shows a serious problem with how Buy Me a Coffee handles payout issues:

Funds were held for months,

Slow and repetitive responses,

No immediate solution,

Blocking an entire bank without notifying users,

Putting creators at risk of losing access to their earnings.

For creators relying on timely payouts, this is more than an inconvenience — it is a major risk.

No platform should leave users waiting weeks for a reply while their money is blocked because of a system failure.

Until Buy Me a Coffee improves its support, transparency, and payout options, creators should be careful — especially those outside the U.S. with non-supported banks.

Scam

What a total utter scam this company is. They piggy back on other companies and lurk in the background. You can’t cancel any subscriptions and as you can see from previous comments they just pay lip service. Why oh why would anyone want to set up a subscription and receive absolutely nothing back let alone a coffee. Avoid like the black plague.

Avoid BuyMeACoffee. Its a Scam

Avoid CallEx / BuyMeACoffee Like the Plague – A Total Scam!

I usually don't write reviews, but this experience was so bad that I felt the need to warn others. I recently signed up for BuyMeACoffee (aka CallEx) hoping to use it to receive support from my community and fund my projects. At first, it seemed like a great platform for creators to interact with their supporters... until I actually tried to withdraw funds.

Here’s the nightmare:

After receiving funds, the platform locks you into a 7-day withdrawal process. That’s fine, I thought, I can wait.

After the waiting period, I received an email that my account was suspended with NO explanation, no specific policy violation mentioned, and no way to contact support.

I’ve sent countless emails, but no response. Zero support. Just a generic message saying "your account has been suspended" with no details as to why.

The worst part? They don’t give you a reason for the suspension, and when you try to figure out what went wrong, it’s impossible to get a clear answer. It's like they've perfected the art of ghosting their users once they have your money.

The fact that they still take payments and don’t provide transparency is not only unethical but feels like a total scam. I’ve seen a lot of creators fall into this trap. Stay far, far away from this site. It’s a complete rip-off. If you want a platform that actually supports creators and doesn’t try to scam you, go with Gumroad—it’s way more reliable, straightforward, and transparent.

If you’re thinking about using BuyMeACoffee (or whatever they’re calling themselves now), do yourself a favor: DON’T. You’ve been warned.

I used this site as an alternate to GoFundMe but I wish I hadn't have

I used this site as an alternate platform for people to secretly bid on a silent auction I was running for charitable purposes. When it came time to withdraw the money, it took around 7 days for me to let me know I needed to supply evidence as to what I used the platform for, which I did.

It then took them around 4 days to advise me that they aren't going to give me any of the funds because I have a link to my OnlyFans site on my buy me a coffee platform. They advised that this goes against their terms and conditions but it doesn't as I wasn't using their platform to sell adult content nor does the link to my OnlyFans suggest what type of material you might find there (OnlyFans is used for many things and not just adult content).

They are now ignoring my Emails. I've let them know that I am going to lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs Australia and that I have spoken to a Lawyer about the issue who supplied me with the information above (that I wasn't in breech).

I am now in debt around $300 myself as I gave my own money to the charity whilst I wait for the funds that are with buy me a coffee as I didn't see why they should lose out because of this companies incompetence and negligent ways.

Buy me a coffee - please respond to my Emails otherwise you'll leave me no choice but to lodge a complaint that will flag you as a scam and a fraud. I have done absolutely nothing wrong and this is incredibly unfair and unjust.

100% Scam

I paid "Geni: AI image and video generating" through this service, because I wanted to test it. Six months later I still can not cancel the subscription. Nobody can be contacted. There is absolutely no support.

I have to call my Bank for being able to block these scammers, because I can not dispute it online either.

I can not delete my account until I cancel the subscription.

The cancel button does not work.

I advise everybody not to use this service.

I’ve a positive experience with Buymeacoffee. Though accidentally forgot my email and made a monthly commitment, the support team, particularly Julie, go through length to help me cancel my recurring payment. Besides, it’s really a much needed platform for us to crowd fund people we support.

Tips tech non responsive Merchant on buy me a coffee

This is the worst l have ever seen. Through online search l stumbled on one of their merchants , Tips tech claiming to sell an online EA, namely lock30scalper strategy. Payments were done through this website. The website redirected me to a server for download. That server does not exist, the error it gives is 404. I immediately contact the seller who has never responded. I write to their support CC the seller, the only response I got , contact the seller via their system which l had already demonstrated to them. This website must be closed. Am in limbo l can only ask my bank to do a reversal on the charge. And please buymecoffee.com don't respond your responses are AI generated and superficial. Learn to close matters in an amicable way and clients having the worst reviews. If you are thinking of purchasing from any on their website , please think twice. Worst of the worst experience l have ever had. Trust pilot must introduce 0 starts
