Avoid This Garage at All Costs

Avoid This Garage at All Costs – Dishonest and Unreliable!

I bought a 2018 Peugeot Boxer from this garage on 24th October 2025 — what a complete nightmare. On the way home, the engine management light came on, the gearbox failed, and the clutch went. I had to be recovered back home because this so-called dealership ignored my calls completely.

They sell vehicles without service history or owner’s manuals, even though they claim to have them. Don’t believe a word they say.

To make matters worse, I traded in my 2021 Renault Trafic Black Edition — they gave me £12,500, yet now they’ve got it advertised on their website for over £20,000. That’s an £8,000+ markup, showing exactly how greedy and dishonest this garage is.

This place is nothing more than a bunch of rip-off merchants. They’ll take your money, ignore your problems, and try to squeeze every penny they can out of you.

Buyers and citizens of the UK — stay well clear of this garage.
They’re only out to rip you off.

Shocking customer service

I duly booked in my car following receiving the Urgent Safety Recall letter issued by Renault UK pertaining to the Kadjar rear door locks. On collecting my car I was told car needed a service? The service due light was on when I got in my car. When I took my car to the Renault Bury garage the service light definitely was not on. Why would it be - as I explained I had my car serviced on 05/07/2011 and had only covered approx 4000 miles since then. On collecting my car the chap on reception told me car was due a service - I explained the above that my car had only been serviced in July so could not be due a service especially as I had only covered 4000 miles since. I had only taken my car in for the Urgent Safety Recall. Lo and behold when I got in my car the service light was on. I rang the garage and they were not interested. I escalated to Renault UK but been advised they could not help. To be told it will cost me £114 to be reset by Renault is totally unacceptable. I will not be paying Renault for this. Due to this experience Renault as a brand will never get any money from me ever again.

Fantastic

Fantastic, experience, thank you John. Badly let down by Bolton Renault, you really need to take a lesson from John at Bury. This was a very enjoyable experience, felt that the car wasn’t sold to us, more that we bought it and John was there to answer our questions, which he did, informatively and with humour. I got the impression that nothing was too much trouble and more importantly he was genuine, a nice person in the right job with the right attitude.
I absolutely recommend thus company and will have no hesitation in returning to them.

Steer well clear!

My wife and I bought a Renault Koleos from this company and had nothing but grief with it for 2 1/2 yrs. The car was either broken down on our drive or gathering dust on their plot whilst a bunch of ignorant, arrogant, sales staff and technicians scratched their heads. Not only was the car sold not fit for purpose, there are several issues with this vehicle (well engine to be more precise) that we should have been made aware of from the start. Truth is, despite being a Renault dealer, I don't think anyone there new a bloody thing about them. In 2 1/2 years we lost £5000 with not a godamn thing to show for it, as a result of this company's ignorance, contempt and utter arrogance.
