Deceptive Practices

It was only after subscribing to access the locked sections that I discovered that the app builder was not working.
Their instructions were not congruent with the actual app builder and their subscription fees were not disclosed.
They are willing to provide features as part of a package deal only if you call them out on false advertising.
The app builder worked so well in the initial build sections that I assumed unlocking the paid features was going to be a continuation of the same type of performance.

Terrible Service and A Wast of Money

I have been waiting for 3+ months for the app launch. Their customer team knows nothing about the progress and their development team keeps making mistakes driving App Store and Google play declining the submission. No reasonable explanation to customers but only endless waiting.

Price jumped from $637 to $1908 per year

I had been using Buildfire for years. It is a good product (not great). It had a few price increases over the years but when I didn't update my credit card info they closed my account in less than 2 weeks of notice. I updated the card info but the new cost for the same service went form $637 per year to $1908 per year. That is simply not fair.
Update: I received an email from Tim at Buildfire explaining that in the terms, here is a copy/paste "Therefore, we may, without prior notice, change the Service; change the pricing of the service; add or delete features of the Service, to you or to Users generally; or create usage limits for the Service."
We have changed to AppyPie, couldn't be happier and cost is 35% of Buildfire.

They dont care about small business! price gougers!

STAY AWAY!
Sales guy was antagonizing and condescending! Spoke like a boiler room type closer! Pricing has shot up through the roof during the past six months. Not a good solution for small business at all. They want to charge an arm and a leg yearly!!!! For basically a website builder for mobile phones. Yes, it has a lot of features but there pricing is still OUTRAGEOUS. They keep raising the price during Covid instead of dropping the price to help small business grow in such a time of uncertainty. Lost respect for buildfire until they actually try and help people vs price gouge!

Good Platform but treat with caution

Treat with caution. Nice platform and good business accelerator For proofing ideas but not a long term bet. You have to stay in their tramlines - outside these they cease to function.

Watch the terms of business that they imbed in every App - they will cause any Europe’s business problems....

Overall feels like a standard US West Coast start up - lots of sales gloss, 80% of a solid product but zero depth in staff knowledge on display outside their script

To much use of adjectives - Fantastic, Awesome etc no where near enough real client focus

Content Disappeared, no recourse/refund/communication

It is a beautiful platform and though a small learning curve to use the product really was able to almost complete a finished product myself on the lowest paid tier.

Reason for 1 star review: there's no point for a beautiful product if all your content disappears. That's right...disappeared. With extremely frustrating vague replies for several weeks now and no sign of return of the months of work put in. Customer service is essentially appalling.

BuildFire is amazing for the following…

BuildFire is amazing for the following reasons:
1. Easy to use, dynamic platform with all the plugins you need.
2. Dont need to be a 'graphic designer' to make it look dope, so user friendly.
3. Customer service is ridiculous. David, Max, Demetrius, and crew. Fast turnaround, follow-ups, and the main thing is , my questions always get answered
4. Price is right. For all the plug-ins and support you get, this is a no brainer. I demo'd the other top players and BF is by far the best.
5. My app was published within a week, and they give you the tools to manage the users and send push notifications!

There's a free trial so you should at least try it out!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. The online app builder is nasty and they want to upcharge you for EVERYTHING. Their support team cannot help and supposedly, they use cheep offshore development. When this company goes under - kiss your mobile app goodbye since they own it.

DO NOT RECOMEND

So, after you pay 99€, you need to pay 99€ more to publish in app store and 25 € play store. We tought that was 1 year payment of 99€, but no, it is 99€ month. In less then 1 hour we ask to cancel the account and refound the payment as in Europe you have 15 days to cancel anything you buy or ask a refound. They deny to do the refound. Good luck with the 99€

Poor customer service, very glitchy.

I love the idea of an app like this, and was excited to try it out...On paper, everything looks good with Buildfire. Now it has almost been a month since we made the jump to a paid plan and it has been just one hurdle and headache after another.

Long review short, their customer service has been appalling and the app has been glitchy and filled with problems. I deal with apps like this and their customer service teams on a weekly basis, and the Buildfire team is as poor as it gets.

Despite having "Premium Support" at this plan level, I am lucky to get more than 1 or 2 responses a day on their chat or via email in regard to fairly straight forward issues. Half the time their responses are irrelevant to the subject at hand, or I am told they forwarded it to another team, who then never actually does anything. It genuinely feels like they don't care and are making no effort to actually help.

Their failure to really do anything to help has delayed our pretty basic app from launching for multiple weeks. My patience has run out and I am resorting to leaving these reviews as maybe this will wake them up and actually help out a paying customer.

I wish we had found another solution, instead of wasting countless hours and headaches with this company.

If I could give this company a zero…

If I could give this company a zero review, I would. The service description and website is well worded and attractive, but the delivery is bottom of the pit of hell atrocious. Absolutely incompetent. They don't build apps, they take money from honest hardworking businesses and deliver ... nothing. Their developers can't fix the simplest problems and they seem to have no idea of how to publish an iOS app at all, even rudimentary requirements such as a Restore Purchases button which is a basic requirement for a paid app.
When I tried to get this fixed, I was faced with an army of bots from the company, all with different 'names' each promising to take care of my problem with rote bot answers, and no one able to actually help ... for 3 months. I gave them a chance to redeem themselves but they were unable to do more than send me more bot rote 'How can we help you?' emails. Scary. Note, they'll also refuse to refund your money even if you're well within your legal right to get it back (because you received nothing as advertised) and well under your contract deadline.
Buildfire Buyer Beware. Don't throw your money away. You're better off using Fiverr or investing in a mobile dev agency that is focused on outcomes - and actually know their way around an app.

Worst experience I have ever had with a company. Have had the app for over a year, hasn't worked one day. Sadly, many people in our community depend on it. There is ZERO customer service, no phone number, and emails take days to respond.

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

BuildFire has helped us put together a much better app than we could have built, in a very reasonable amount of time. They may not have a phone call to contact with questions, but their responses to my inquiries are always prompt. I feel that they are reasonably priced as well.

MY review for Buildfire!!!!!!!!!!

It was going SO well at the start - Buildfire was a great app - but it FALSE ADVERTISED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It said that it was a FREE app, but then when we finished it - it turns out that we had to pay and also i kept getting random messages from Ian and what not! You also couldn't move images and once again the pricing for the app to be built was utterly OUTRAGEOUS!!! But otherwise it was great - would recommend if you want to spend your moola.
