All for the sake of money!!

I wished I could say this was a good experience but it wasn't. We loaded the truck and just needed them to drive. We packed and used the full length of the truck. They made a stop along the way to pick up more cargo and took it upon themselves to stack the lawn mower on top of the hall table, stack the chest freezer on top of the love seat which had a mirror on top of it. The rubber wall rubbed on the light colored couch and left marks. Some smaller items were tossed all over. the rubber wall was to b placed in a heavy piece of wood for stability but was tossed on top of a rocker and occasional chair which left rubbed marks on both. To say the least, I was horrified when the driver opened the truck for me! The driver noticed all of this and helped me get the freezer off the love seat and the lawn mower off the hall table. The driver said he called in what he saw but who knows. When I spoke with Nancy I told her I definitely will not use their company again nor will I ever recommend them!! I got I am sorry from Nancy and thats it!

Liars

The most stunningly unethical sales people I have ever dealt with. Someone named "David" gave me a low ball quote that I later found out was based on a storage unit half the size of the one I described to him. As a result, the van line brought a van that was too small and told me halfway through the move that it would be double the cost and that they would have to charge me for two runs in the van. They were as annoyed as I was about the misinformation, since they would have brought an appropriately sized truck. It was too late to do anything about it and mysteriously, no one at Budget Van Lines answered my calls. The next day, they put me with a different sales person "Jasmine" who told me that they had weighed the truck and it was a non-issue, since the price came in close to the estimate. They later claimed that this was the "balance due," not the total, once again, only once it was too late to do anything about it. They will lie to your face and put a different thing on paper, then direct you to a new person who will point to the paper when you complain. Utterly, fantastically unethical. Go directly through a van line and read the fine print. These brokers are complete liars.

Budget Van Lines were not clear in…BEWARE

Budget Van Lines were not clear in there contracts
My husband accepted an employment relocation out of state with short notice. We reached out to Budget Van Lines for their services. Their representative Mitchell had given us a quote on their full service relocation package. Little did I know this would be the worst mistake ever. This rep quoted us 1739.61 for full service which we were told movers would come to our house package, load and deliver all our property. My husband was sceptical but amazed at this price. I explained to the rep that all of our stuff were already packed, boxed, wrapped and placed in storage units. The rep then lured us again saying that he would lock us in this quote but will be a nonbinding quote as he will over estimate our item weight and we may get a refund. We scheduled our pick up date on Dec 7th but was told they needed a 3 day window. We were asked to pay a holding fee of 629.90 which was withdrawn from my account on 11/27, 11/28, 12/3. We did not hear from the company until 11/30 when a rep Shampel, emailed me of their contracted moving company. Again, we did not hear from either company so I contacted the movers and was told they have a 3 day pick up window and a 7 day delivery window. Dec 8 the movers came to pick up my properties and was told I will be charge an extra 1000$, at least for packaging, crating, wrapping and extra cubic feet. I asked why since Budget told me that this would all be included in our full service. The mover stated it was illegal for him to just load our stuff. I called Budget and was told by Nancy to just pay the half quoted amount of 652.81 and the rest on delivery date as the weight may fluctuate. The mover stated that there is an additional fee from their company of 675.00$ that he will add to any other weight fee as he was told by budget. Again I called Budget to verify and was told just pay the quoted pick up fee of 652.81. Dec 10 we get a call from Budget's Contracted mover stating that we have to pay a total of 4967.62 of which 434.90 is credit from Budget which would still leave us with 4532.72. I called Budget and they did not confirm or deny this stating they will call the contracted movers and call me back. The contracted movers stated that if we pay half of the total of which was 2,266.36 they will then schedule a delivery only for us and when they do arrive we will need to pay in full the remaining balance. I reached out again to Budget and was given the run around. No reciept, no tracking tickets, no paper work. I felt that we were being taken advantage of because of our lack of knowledge in using a moving service. Budget did not inform us of all the extra fees and charges. If we would have known we would have sought out another means to move our household as this has put my family in a financial hardship. We are not only in a new house, new state but are without means and living primitively as the contracted movers literally has our property held hostage. I feel that Budget Van Lines purposely neglected to inform us of additional charges and fees to procure our patronage and then left us in a state were we are forced to beg and borrow from friends in family. Not only putting us in debt but again in a financial hardship. I will never again use their services and will make sure all family and friends never use Budget Van Lines.

I moved from atlanta to NYC about a month ago and I am just now getting around to leaving this review now that me and my family are finally settled in. ive moved before and had it not work out so well where I had trouble reaching my carrier or they werent working with me. With Budget it was easier they always picked up when I called and told me where my things were and keep me updated on when it would be coming
They let me know the day before everything got here and the movers were friendly The two guys they sent to deliver did a good job finished quickly all my things made it.

I recently moved from NY to Washington and it was a tough move, but I am glad that I went with Budget. I called them to book a move back in March and they set me up with a good rate since I was booking far in advance for a move in the summer.

They set me up with a good moving company and they gave me a window of a few days when the movers would pick up my family's stuff. On the big day the movers arrived a bit late from traffic, but they were quick and organized. My weight went up a little bit, but I added a few boxes and decided to take my dining room table, so it was fine.

When everything got to my new place in Washington it was all there and in the same condition as when it left so I'm happy. It was a good price and all my family's stuff made it to my new place.

Giving budget a one star is way too much of a rating

giving budget a one star is way to much. if i would have known the customer service i got . i would have saved my money 5000.00 plus to be ripped off having 95 percent of my belongings destroyed as well as being over charged 2720 pounds and the moving company they picked was cvs transport that even admitted to the weight differences but it was much less i wish i could post pictures and the emails with this company my signature was forged as well cvs transport charged me special packing rates they used a family ear loom a hutch that is over 200 years old to store my belongings in as well as other furniture. as know i have reported them both to BBB as well as i am filling a criminal charges for the altering weight tickets as well as the forging of my signature as well as theft . i collect sports things i had two beer cans that were from when the tigers won the world series in 1984 the movers drank my beer and smashed the cans and threw in a drawer in one of my dressers. if anyone would like to link up with me in shutting this company down and see that the owner(s) get what they deserve i can be reached at/ budget van line is a scam @ yahoo. com ------

No Accountability or Integrity

I used Budget Van Lines to move from the East to the West Coast. At no point was it explained to me in my initial call that they were a broker and would be farming my moving out to a different company. When I tried to get more information I was given a phone number with no details. It was also never explained to me until well after what I thought was the delivery date that this was not the date they would deliver but the first day in a 21 business day delivery. Moving forward, any time I had an issue, they fell back on the same canned response of “we have 21 business days to deliver” instead of ever addressing the other issues I was having a problem with, and there were many: No one would return my calls or emails, I wasn’t told who had my things, the lady they assigned to me was rude and hostile every time she did answer the phone, I was lied to about where my things were (they kept saying I had 21 days and my stuff was in a warehouse in New Jersey swearing they had just got off the phone with the movers to confirm even two days AFTER my things were delivered), when a third party I knew nothing about called me about my things Budget promised to find out who they were as I had no idea but never heard ack from them, and they never gave the movers my address after confirming the information was sent over. Since no one would help me or tell me who I should call (the actual movers and who their contact was) I wound up having to shell out an extra $350 for a shuttle truck because I couldn’t procure a temporary parking pass in under 24 hours. If Budget had actually contacted the movers or given me all of their information, I would have been able to save myself the extra fee by getting the pass.

I lodged a complaint with the Better Business Buereau because I could get nowhere with them and their A+ rating of Budget made me trust them. Their response was I had 21 business days from the delivery date etc. etc. and not once did they acknowledge the other complaints especially the flat out lying about contacting the movers and where my things were but they felt that this canned response was all I needed and no refund of that extra fee was due. I no longer have any trust in the BBB’s rating system or complaint process as nothing comes from it so companies are allowed to continue poor business practices with little to no recourse.

This company encourages their employees to pass along incorrect information instead of saying that they are unsure and helping the customer find the answers they need. There is no accountability, integrity, or care given to their business. They claim to only make $147 on brokering the deal with the moving company and then believe their work is done. They no longer care what happens.

If you plan to make a long move, either go directly to a local moving company where you can talk to a person that will care about your experience or rent a pod. Never use a broker, it will just wind up costing you more in the end with weeks of stress and not knowing where your things are.

Timeliness

I recently moved from CT to CA and used budget van lines. They have a service of renting only a part of the truck. When I called them the agent Matt asked for an inventory of all my stuff and based on that he said I would need only 8 feet of space. He said the truck will come to my house and be there for 3 business days to load (by myself). The truck came on time and they and left on time. The customer service agent Dolores was very helpful in tracking my truck. They said the truck will arrive CA in 7-9 business days and it did arrive in 7 business days. All my things came without any damage. I am really please with their service.

Shame on you budget van lines

Shame on you budget van lines. Budget van lines took advantage of hurricane Irma victims. I was moving from my home in Nebraska to Marco Island when hurricane Irma hit. My move was obviously canceled due to the condition of my home. Budget van lines did not consider this out of the ordinary. And refused to refund my booking fee. They take a vantage of victims of natural disasters. Please do your research before using budget van lines. Golden movers are an excellent moving company that have a wonderful ethics. Check them out.

Avoid Budget Van Lines at all costs

I had a truly horrible experience from start to finish. I read other bad reviews and figured only the unhappy post reviews, and went for it. And I have one thousand regrets.

Move was scheduled 2 months in advance and never dispatched. When we called during our supposed window they found someone in a rush to come out.

The guys showed up in a half full penske truck. We had requested full service move and they said they did not do that. So we went and bought boxes and packed while they mostly waited- they did help a little for which we had to sign another fee contract on site. I tried to call budget but they had nobody on phones- so i was at the mercy of the movers.

I didn't think our stuff would fit in the penske so I asked what they were going to do and they said they would go get another truck if necessary. However as soon as their truck was full they said we'd have to figure out the rest and left. Since we had to get on the road to sign docs for our new house, we had to arrange storage for our things left behind. My husband is going to fly back, rent a truck, and drive the rest of our things.

We had to pay the moving deposit at pick up.. Their credit card machine didn't work and they ran four of our cards which they said were declined- turns out they don't take amex or something - but it placed holds on all our cards for a week. Our charge on a visa went through but it left us short on access to emergency travel money.

Our stuff got here a mess. They had a truck accident on the way and had to move everything to another truck. Cardboard boxes were crushed. Previously wrapped furniture now unwrapped. Our high end leather couch had two serious indentations, almost holes, where leather was stretched from pressure against other items.

I've called budget so many times for updates (they also arrived 4 days later than expected) and every time they've said they would look in to it and call back. They have never called us back. The last woman actually told me (when I told her that they always say they will call back and never do) that if they don't call back it's because they have no information to share.

We had to pay cash balance on delivery of our items . We felt completely held hostage and just wanted them gone and the night are over. I am trying to work on zen detachment and let go. Really, I am super chill about most things
But this was out of control. Save yourself from this kind of torture. Consider hiring people on both ends where you can control more of the situation, that's what we will do next time.

Budget Van Lines stayed with us the entire time!

We obtained Budget Van Lines to broker a move from PA to CO. There were issues with the moving company (which Budget has now terminated their contract with that leased company due to the significant issues). During the entire process of the move, Donald Battles- Manager of Customer Service in the CA office of Budget Van Lines- was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He stayed late, came in early, communicated through both emails and phone, and ALWAYS kept his promise as to when he would have an answer. While the move itself was stressful due to the other company's lack of customer service, Donald Battles and Budget Van Lines did everything they could to resolve the issue and obtain compensation. This is SO appreciated!

WONDERFUL Broker - Keith

Keith, from Budget Van Lines has been an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT to work with. In ONE phone call, he went over everything with me, broke down the cost for me, gave me the time frame window that my movers will be here (move is in 10 - 12 days from now). My move was picked up by a moving company within one hour of Keith posting it and I already have the name of the actual moving company (In Demand Movers). I can't thank Keith enough for his kindness, consideration and calm demeanor. He truly helped out this 65 year old that has almost pulled out her hair.!
