Disputed towing charges and no response to formal complaint
On August 31, 2026, my car was towed from a residential condominium property in Lawndale, California. I acknowledge that I mistakenly parked in another resident’s assigned space, and I am not disputing that mistake.
My concern is the towing procedure and the charges. I received no warning before the tow and was not provided documentation showing who authorized it.
Invoice #26-27592 charged $707.25, including a $350 tow fee, $120 administrative fee, $220 for two days of storage, and a $17.25 credit-card fee.
According to the towing company’s records, the vehicle arrived at the storage facility at approximately 6:38 PM on August 31 and was released at approximately 8:29 AM on September 1—less than 14 hours later.
I formally disputed the charges and requested the tow authorization, applicable rate information, an explanation for the administrative fee, and justification for the two-day storage charge. My certified letter was delivered on September 4, 2026, and I also followed up by email.
I have received no substantive response from Budget Towing Service.
I paid to recover my vehicle, but I continue to dispute the charges and am seeking clarification through the appropriate channels.
